POS: very central location 50 mtr from casino and beach; historical building with old charm; quite big but with a family atmosphere; (my) room recently renovated; pleasant bar area; quiet; considering location reasonably priced.NEG: elavator super slow, tiny and shaky at times (7 floors); bathroom good but shower itself clumsy; staff could use some extra training > in 4 days' stay there was always something not done or missing, and worst of all in spite of plenty of mgmt messages to save energy, in 2/4 days we came back late night and aircon had been switched on (by staff, not us), on a day it was barely 20 degrees, meaning complete waste of energy, and cost.

The hotel is in a great location 5 minutes from the beach. The building looks great on the outside and restaurant and lobby also look good. The rooms however look quite dated. The coffee machine (Nespresso type) did not work properly and the coffee cups were dirty with some type of brown sticky residue. The bathroom was the worst part, the toilet bowl came lose from the wall and you could feel it dropping when you sat on it which made me not want to use it. The shower doesn't drain and because the bathroom was placed slightly higher than the rest of the room the water drained into the room within about 5 minutes after turning on the shower. On the upside, bed and pillows are comfortable and the airconditioning worked well. The elevator is very small en very slow, better to take the stairs. I was in room 402.

Small rooms, with Abnormal Small Beds. Extremely rude staff members who went off limits screaming, insulting all sort of verbal EASY abuse on a single mother with 3 young children, who nicely explained that instead of 5 nights, will only be staying for one night. They were enraged!!! I After explaining it all and taking videos of the 2 abusers member of staff, I had a Full refund from Expedia! The hotel itself is the worst choice you could pick, which is the reason why after finding a much much better hotel, we decided to book to the Hotel Bero, in a better location! They had Great and big rooms, big bathroom, lovely staff members, free daily breakfast was included in the price, the hotel Bero also has a Spa and a beautiful swimming pool.

Good hotel. Friendly staff. Comfy bed and very tasty breakfast (with real scrumbled eggs). Nice for staying a couple of days in a great location 100 meters from the beach and real close to lots of restaurants.

Hugely frustrated to be writing this but this hotel is a joke in terms of customer service. I actually wondered if maybe they'd gone out of business. I had an awful experience and had expected to hear from the manager, so I then emailed the next day when I hadn't heard anything....I then emailed again, and again. Not even a rude email, just saying I'm expecting to hear from you about my experience. I then go to their Facebook page and message them there, hilariously their response said please email us because the response will be much quicker that way and they provided the same email address I'd been emailing without reply. I told them that in the FB msg but no reply. ||Anyway, I found this hotel on my train ride but their mobile site wouldn't let me book the room that showed available, or any rom at all for any date. So I walked from the train station to the hotel in the POURING RAIN. I arrived looking like a drown rat and showed them the room that was showing available on their website, expecting them to just book me that rate. Simple. The guy says "oh our mobile website doesn't work to book". Ok maybe say that on on your mobile site since it brings you to the booking page and tell you booking direct is best?? Or fix it??? Ok, well let's book this rate for a single with breakfast I'm literally showing you on the website right now. Nope, we don't have that -- we only have something that is like $50 more! I push back a couple times, anyone good at hospitality would just honor what the website is showing, even if I hadn't just walked all the way from the station and was clearly drenched. But nope. I say ok, well I assume this rate at least includes breakfast. Nope. Again, this was something easy he could do to make it even partially right. I then asked can I speak with a manager etc. Wouldn't even give me an email address, I see now that would have been pointless since no response. Finally I give up and take the room for $50 more than their site was showing. This guy also smelled of body odor. Then I say oK can I have my complimentary drink, which the website clearly mentions. Even that he acted like was a big deal, and as if he was being nice by giving me that.I get to my room and there is NO hand soap -- only shampoo, in the place where hand soap should be. I ask the front desk, thinking it will take a few minutes....took him 30 min to find me hand soap. The next morning, I noticed while they were cleaning that the room next to me also had shampoo at the sink and no hand soap. Also housekeeping had piled up dirty towels in the hallway. Avoid this place, room also didn't seem that clean.

Disappointing third stay at this hotel. The room felt unclean, didn’t smell nice upon arrival. Crumbs on the floor when we moved the table, mould on the dirty curtains, dirty windows and my slippers were black from walking around the room for 4 days. Cleaner only made the bed once and the washing up was never done (it always was previously). Noisy floorboards and waiting for the lift can easily take 10 min. The staff are nice and the bar area too. Definitely should be a 3 star instead of a 4 star and needs renovating. Also needs soundproofing and better cleaning staff. Great location, booking was easy and staff helpful, also received a discount which was nice. Not sure I want to stay again though…

Great location. Friendly staff. Smooth check-in & check-out. Parking is a bit tricky as the hotel has an underground car park nearby with only 8 parking spaces. Breakfast is great.
