20 Best Things to Do in Vienna, Austria

"As a fixture of Vienna street food, Würstelstand Leo claims to be the city's oldest sausage stand (established in the late 1920s), and I sampled the käsekrainer — a sausage studded with cheese — which is a classic order." - Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel is a writer with more than eight years of experience editing and writing for both brands and online publications—with a particular focus on travel, fashion, and lifestyle. Great sausage stand open very late. We went 2 evenings there. Great very friendly service. All kinds of delicious sausages with large choice of beer. Always crowded with locals which is a sign of quality!

I had a great time at this place. It was late and I couldn’t find a good place to eat, but then I stumbled upon Leo. I started with their cheesy sausage, and then tried their burger. Although I didn’t like the burger, I highly recommend their sausage and fries. The staff was very friendly and kind.

When you arrive late in the city and all the restaurants are closing or closed, this spot will do the trick! Walk down from the hotel and the menu is quite extensive. Asked for a bratwurst and fries and a beer. Served on a plate with some paper and mustard and ketchup and we ate right there. Then took our beer back to the hotel.

Tasty sausages 👍 We took “Big mama” and it was very good.

This is a outside stall, my husband had traditional and loved it. I had vegetarian and was not keen . I didn’t like the salad leaves and curry powder that was sprinkled on top

Fun experience eating a "BigMama" platter of sausage, bread, pickles and condiments. Very tasty food served on a "silver" platter that we shared while standing at an outside counter. Very patient cook that waited for us to decide what to order and to fumble to get the money out. All washed down with local Viennese beer.

Big mama is an experience we wanted to try! But the most good thing is that the guy was so nice, my friend doesn't like meat and she's also allergic to some stuff and he was very careful to show ingredient of the vegan sausage (which it doesn't taste like meat so she was able to eat, since the restaurant right in front of the kiosk ignored her). The sausage with cheese is so delicious, also the potatoes are super fresh, the bread was also so soft and fresh.

Absolutely delicious! As a tourist, this has to be one of the best meals I've had considering the price. Had the chicken burger (4.50€) with sauerkraut (2€) and gherkin (0.5€) and my friends got a variety of sausages and meats, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Owner was nice, happy to take orders in English, and quick with service. Great place to visit for an affordable yet scrumptious meal after spending 30€ at Figlmuller 😆

Yelp
A great sausage stand! Grilled fresh in-front of you. Decent price and delicious. A must stop

Yelp
Grading on a scale. It is a hot dog stand after all. But this quintessential Vienna sausage stand is exactly where to go if that's what you want. Off the beat and path. Away from tourists. This is the (I think) the oldest hot dog stand in town. No frills. Quick, friendly service. Tasty hot dogs Viennese style.

Yelp
Leo's is acknowledged as Vienna's oldest Wurstelstand. There's a reason it's been around for such a long time. It serves up a great variety of offerings that are consistently good. Plus Leo's sits at one of Vienna's busiest intersections. If you're hungry and are near the Nußdorfer Straße - grab a bite to eat at Leo's.

Yelp
This place was delicious! They have English menus, so no worries there for my fellow American travelers. Seriously good currywurst. It was the first time I had ever had it and I was not disappointed. I'm pretty sure I ate there three times when I was in Vienna. If you happen to walk past grab yourself some currywurst or a sausage with some mustard! Yummy. Cheap too!

Yelp
I was really happy to see they have pferdeleberkäse. A lot of the sausage stands don't. It was really good, too.

Yelp
Went here seeking vegan wurst but they were completely out. Very disappointing, since they seem to be one of the only Würstelstands offering such a thing. I guess if you are looking for vegan wurst, you should call first to make sure they have it. We ended up trying the Leo-Taler (Fried Emmanteler cheese served with french fries) which was tasty.
