Ermitage Mont-Saint-Michel (Mont-Saint-Michel, Normandy) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A short drive inland, in the village of Beauvoir, Ermitage Mont-Saint-Michel is a luxurious small hotel within easy reach of one of France’s most famous landmarks. Its seven rooms, housed in a stately 19th-century stone villa surrounded by peaceful greenery, are usually booked up well in advance, and it’s easy to see why. Elegant but understated, with old-world details like clawfoot tubs and decorative wooden headboards, the interiors exude French country charm; most rooms have private balconies. Services and common spaces, from an attentive concierge to a lavish breakfast spread, match the high standards you’d expect at a place its owners proudly call the smallest five-star hotel in Europe." - Tablet Hotels

This is truly a luxury hotel and a total experience for our family. We were here for two nights to see the abbey and we were fortunate enough to be able to stay here. Our rooms were large (dated but comfy and with a terrace) and the guest experience was a 10! From. He kin to checkout we were catered to and barely had to ask for anything and we had it. Werner is amazing as is the Concierge. The restaurant food at night was phenomenal!!! I hope we are able to return one day because this is an incredible small but luxurious hotel.

We were guests at the restaurant, not staying at the hotel.|The welcome was fulsome, the staff super helpful, the setting delightful. However we were instantly bombarded with an offer of champagne and caviar on a trolley pushed to our table. It was invasive. Secondly I'm no fan of pets in restaurants but there were two dogs with separate customers, one being held in the customer's arms with its paws on the table. I noticed no attempt to correct this from the staff. Were the customers perhaps too important or too rich?|Our meal (dinner) itself fell far short of expectations. The starter of asparagus was good. The main course, however, of pre sale lamb, was just this side of edible. The lamb, supposedly amongst the best in the world, was overcooked, dry, barely warm and small. It had a slightly unpleasant taste. The accompaniment was a round white mash, which according to the menu was lingot beans, tasted like a rather unpleasant potato puree. It was dry, stodgy, barely warm again and needed a double swallow. Apart from this there were no vegetables. The dessert, however, of white chocolate and pear, was excellent.|My wife and I stayed 4 days in the Mont St Michel area, ate at 5 different restaurants, and this was definitely bottom of the list as well as the most expensive. The place is pretty, elegant, and classy, and the staff friendly, but the word 'pretentious' springs to mind, and if only the food could have matched the surroundings and the service

This fine hotel stands out in a sea of other establishments. The facility is tastefully decorated and exceptionally well kept. The beds (possibly Tempur-Pedic) were very comfortable and a special note of appreciation for the highest quality firm, feather pillows--a real difference maker when it comes to a good night of sleep. They have a lovely, well lit bar that oozes ambiance. The dinner was exceptional with a reasonably priced wine list and an obscene (in a good way) cheese offering of Normandy's best. Dessert sounded good but after the cheese was not possible. The concierge, Jean-Marc, can make any wish you may have come true. He also offers personal guide services throughout Normandy and is incredibly knowledgeable on all French/Norman/Brittany history.

Amazing service, location is close to mont saint Michel (but not too close: you’ll need them to drop you off to the shuttle and then jump on the crowded -but clean- shuttle). The room is beautiful (we got the duplex) but not too stylish (I know I’m being very picky, but that’s what you end up being when you travel all your life).

What a lovely surprise when my friend booked rooms at this jewel box of a hotel! We only stayed one night, but that was enough to experience the luxe and very comfortable "superior suite" and it's coziness and bath tub (relaxing!). The owners were very kind and attentive. We were there in the off season, and the only guests in the hotel that night. It was nice to have some local cakes, treats, and bottled drinks in the room when we arrived. Our dinner was delicious....especially the sauce the chef (also the owner) prepared for the steak. I didn't quite catch what was in it, but I could have eaten it with a ladle! And the desserts were definitely 5 stars. It's across the street from a huge caramel/candy/souvenir shop, which was fine by me. I loaded up on gifts to bring home. A short drive to Mont St Michel, where we caught the shuttle bus and enjoyed that site. Sidenote: My suite had a big bed and a pull out couch, and my photos show the couch pulled out. My friend ended up deciding to get her own room for the night right across the hall, so that couch folded right back up.

Google
beautiful little hotel as we visited Mont Saint Michel. Small, but 5 star quality in the rooms, the service and the food! We had dinner in the restaurant and will mark it as one of best meals (both food, presentation and service) of our many travels in Europe. Did not expect such a wonderful surprise! It suppose to be a 5 star hotel however when arriving I was shocked since it’s in the opposite of a caravan park no Mont Saint Michel view or any view in fact, the hotel is decorated like a retirement house with the poorest taste and extremely busy. The staff has poor English and the food was so badly presented. ||I had no choice but to pay the 650 euros as I’ve agreed not knowing how bad it was! I expected a truly boutique experience with a lovely old building with an outstanding service. ||The rooms and beds were ok however I would t give more than two stars to this scammer and disonnest man!
