On my summer trip through Greece with my girlfriend, we stopped for four days on the island of Leros. On my friend's recommendation, we stayed at Camping and Diving Leros, which is supposedly the only officially run campground on the island. Our experience there was extremely exciting, unique and unforgettable! The tent was set up for us in the shade of a large olive grove in advance (we did not have our own tent, as we had arrived by plane). Renting a tent is a great additional offer! The owner of the campground (Panos) has many extreme and exciting life stories that will leave you speechless. Go there and listen! Sometimes you won˙t belive your ears. He is also a diver and an excellent “self-proclaimed” chef who hand picks all the ingredients from his garden himself (the rest comes from locals/farmers). He will prepare a delicious breakfast/dinner for you upon request. On two evenings we were treated to very delicious fish. He prepared us a sea bream and sea bass, and our mouths are still watering (remember, the price reflects the good quality of food and the time needed to prepare it). Panos is very well known all over the island, and he also knows everyone. Accordingly, you can turn to him for all matters/questions/information (cabs, sightseeing, renting a scooter, etc.). You will definitely get an answer or a favourable offer😉 All in all, the island is charming, in fact, one of the most beautiful islands among the five we visited during our holidays. Beautiful beaches, viewpoints, very hospitable people and much more! Recommend!

Staying at this camp was an experience on its own. The host is a living legend who’s taking care of not only this camp but the island itself. If you can, visit the place to eat from the garden while listening to his stories. The camp has nice shadow for tents, bungalows if you’re not into camping and connections for scooter/car renting. There was a big group of us and the hosts made us delicious breakfast and dinner every day. We’re coming back for more!

I highly recommend staying in Camping & Diving Leros where you can get a real authentic Greek experience. The owner of camp Panos, a master cook, can prepare exceptional dishes in a traditional way for you if you wish, which you will not find in any restaurant. He is also a very experienced diver who has traveled all over the world and can tell you stories that are more exciting and thrilling than you can imagine. Don't forget to try his figs, olives, vegetables from his garden and olive oil, which is really on a different level. The camp is perfect for travelers who want to experience a unique stay in the middle of Leros hills, away from the tourist crowds and commercial inauthentic tourist offers. The location of the camp is also good, as it is close to a well-stocked shop and the beach. In addition, Panos can help you arrange transportation, including motorbike and electric bike rental.

The best experience I had in a looooong while! First let me say this. If you want a 5 star hotel stay or staff faking nice, this might not be the accommodation for you. That being said lets dive into everything else that made this one of my favourite experiences ever. The camp is easy going and authentic. There is plenty of shade under the olive trees. You can get a tent set up for you, so you do not need to bring your own. The toilet/shower facilities could use a renovation, but they did not bother me at all. For me it was nostalgic. Now for the best part! The owner Panos and his girlfriend Lucy. Panos can seem intense at start and he has no filter. But underneath that is one of the best people i have ever met. He has so many exciting stories, very deep life advice and much more. We enjoyed evening talks, learning about his world travels and events that are hard to believe (i believe everything he said tho and i think you will too). Even our US friends, that had a bit of a cultural shock at first, ended up absolutely adoring the guy. He and Lucy prepare some of the best meals i have ever had the pleasure of eating. They use many of their home grown produce, the rest they source from local farmers and fishers. The food is consistently better then most restaurants we ever visited (not even a single disappointing meal). The prices are more then fair, in my opinion. The island itself is nice and worth the visit, but not the nicest greek island (looking at you karpathos ❤️). It has nice vistas, hiking and biking paths, but its relatively small. A few days is enough. That being said, i am coming back even if just too see Panos. Thank you for such an amazing experience Panos and Lucy!!

So so good! The camping field is beautiful, filled with olive trees. Panos, the owner, might seem rough at first but has a heart of gold! Lucy herself is a gem and very caring and generous! What a lovely experience.

A little paradise for travelers. The owner of the camp Panos lived a really interesting life and in his camp you have a chance to get to know him. The cusine is just amazing and I will miss his breakfasts and dinners. There is enough space in camp. Sleeping under the olive oil trees adds a bit magic to it. Most suitable for young travelers who want authentic experience.

30 yrs ago an amazing experience. This was one of the best life experiences of my youth. The Owner, Panos taught me to scuba dive and the memories of the dives are as vivid if they happened yesterday. The food, atmosphere and friendships created on the Campgrounds were priceless. Panos and his family will always have a place in my heart. Best wishes.

Big field with old olive trees where there's always space for your tent, mainly because it's not worth the money spent (10 per person per night plus 5 per tent= 25 per night for a couple). Everything is taken care of by one person (the owner) but the place unfortunately did not meet our expectations. Showers and toilets in desperate need of renovation, with no toilet paper. The island's tourism is heavily hit these past years so for 30euros you're surely find a room to let and save yourself of the disappointment...
