Nestled along the breathtaking backwaters, Les 3 Elephants is an oasis of tranquility and peace that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in a sense of calm, accentuated by the stunning natural beauty that surrounds the property. The location is nothing short of spectacular. With direct access to a pristine beach, I found myself captivated by the gentle lapping of the waves and the mesmerizing sunsets that painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. The backwaters offer a serene escape, perfect for leisurely strolls or quiet contemplation. It's a paradise for nature lovers, and I felt truly rejuvenated by the peaceful ambiance. What truly sets this resort apart is the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment I checked in, Rashid and Vishak at the reception were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warm smiles and willingness to assist with any request made a world of difference. The housekeeping team deserves special mention as well. The elderly ladies who kept my room sparkling, clean, and warm went above and beyond to ensure I felt at home. Their dedication and attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and I truly appreciated their efforts in maintaining such high standards. In summary, Les 3 Elephants is a perfect getaway for anyone seeking peace, relaxation, and outstanding service. I left with a heart full of gratitude and memories that I will cherish forever. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful setting with an incredible team of staff who truly care about their guests. I can't wait to return!

Serene Retreat with Room for Improvement I recently had the pleasure of staying at Les 3 Elephants, nestled in a tranquil spot near the backwaters and Cherai Beach. While not directly on the beach road, the resort's serene ambiance and picturesque surroundings more than made up for it. The accommodations were cozy and comfortable, with a unique charm that set the tone for a relaxing stay. I initially booked a standard cottage but was upgraded to a deluxe cottage, which felt airy and spacious. The outdoors were equally impressive, with beautifully landscaped areas perfect for leisurely strolls and chilling by the backwaters. However, the restaurant was a letdown. With only vegetarian options and limited choices, the food was disappointing. I would recommend opting for online delivery or exploring nearby eateries instead. Breakfast options were also limited, with only two choices available. Les 3 Elephants seems to attract a laid-back crowd, particularly foreigners who visit on weekends for spa and yoga retreats. This is not a party destination, but rather a tranquil oasis for relaxation and rejuvenation. Overall, I would recommend Les 3 Elephants for its peaceful atmosphere and comfortable accommodations. With some improvements to the dining options, this resort could truly shine.

First of all, this property is beautiful and well maintained - lots of tress, plants, ponds, and animals/insects so that you feel right within nature! It's location is great too - a 15-20 minute walk to the Cherai beach, and farily close to restaurants, cafes, etc.|The other fascinating bit is that it opens to a backwater, which gives you breathtaking views!|The rooms are fantastic as well, with lots of nature WITHIN the rooms (with a private patio, one room also even having an open-to-nature shower!). The design of the rooms is very original and places you close to nature.|The breakfast that was part of our room rate was amazing too - with a revolving menu that made sure we were excited every day, The taste was great, and the staff was accommodating to requests for additional items (for kids for example).|However, the most impressive thing about this property is the staff and the level sof service they provided. Especially Mr. Rishad (who I think was exceptionally and unbelievably amazing, and our stay would have been nowhere as good if not for him - many thanks Mr. Rishad). He not only had great advice on what to see, how to get there, where to order food from, most economical and practical ways of travelling, arranging taxis, chatting with us, and warm and personal care, which made us feel cared for, like family. Always a smile on their faces, and going out of their way to help! Please take good care of the staff, expecially Mr Rishad!

The rooms were fine and the views great, however, the staff was not easily accessible and the room service was negligible, there was no clean up regularly even for cutlery they provided us with and coffee cups would be left in the open till the following day. The rooms were nice but dusty and clean up was not possible till the following day and only at a specific time midday when it might be likely that we are stepping out to see the rest of the town. The checkout was hassled and hurried despite no guests on the premises. Construction was an ongoing feature. While this was off-season, and repair and maintainence could be carried out, there seemed to be no care for those visiting for a few days in search of quiet and tranquil settings.

Pros: - Great location, right next to the lake! - The staff were super friendly and helpful. - It was really quiet and peaceful. Cons: - The place needs some serious maintenance. - The pillows and blankets were in terrible condition. - The complimentary breakfast was pretty basic, just the main course.

Les 3 Elephants near Cochin in Cherai is a quiet and harmonious place, far away from the urban chaos. Morning sunrise at your window on the backwaters on one side, beautiful sunset on the Arabian Sea on the other, just a few dozen metres away on foot. It's a place to meditate, to admire the simplicity and beauty of the surroundings. The staff is friendly and pleasant, almost like family. I thank them all for the quiet moments, for all the concerns and small intentions during my stay. Congratulations to the manager, Sudhir, for maintaining a spirit of kindness and care. Thanks to Vaishak who helped me get up when I was down. Thanks to Geraad for keeping an eye on my medication every day. Thanks to the many ladies for the delicious meals and the clean atmosphere. Thanks to Akshay the receptionist/accountant who hides his kindness behind a stoic face. It's a place where to admire the simplicity and beauty of things. A good place to take time for meditation. Also a place for serious medical treatment, massage, yoga. Ideal for individuals and small groups. A place to discover or come back to.

I went on my own but to organised aryuvedic retreat. The retreat was organised by a British woman and on her website she described the guest accommodation for the retreat as ‘bright, airy and simply luxurious’. My experience was anything but! I arrived at the location after a long journey from the uk and we initially sat in the communal dining area. The general feel and look of the place was scruffy and the cushions of the seating area were stained and dirty. |I was shown to my room, which was a standard and all that had been available when I had booked. The room was compact with only a bed, small wardrobe and table under an equally small window. The room was dark and oppressive and certainly not bright and airy. It felt like a cell with dark wood and very little light. The bathroom was very basic. It was dirty with dark scum around the toilet base. The “towels’ provided were more like tea towels and despite the member of staff showing me how to work the system for the hot water, there was NO hot water. |After speaking with the organiser, I was moved to a room in a modern block. The bathroom again was basic, dirty and with no hot water. There were only nets at the window and whilst light during the day made sleeping at night, due to the outside garden lights, difficult. There were dogs outside which barked all night long. The little water canal running through the centre of the garden was green with algae. I have travelled in India and a number of Asian countries before and while I was not expecting a 5 star spa experience, I had hoped and expected a basic standard, cleanliness and hot water. Not a lot to ask!. I can honestly say this is the worst place I have ever stayed. I left the hotel early as I just could not face staying in that environment a moment longer. All in all a very disappointing experience at what is certainly not a cheap hotel.

A good place to savour the Kerala beach- backwater ambience. The rooms are off beat and the location quiet. The backwaters and beach are next door. So are a few good eateries Good for a quiet holiday of one or two days but the area does not offer much more by way of activity or sightseeing
