Excellent locally inspired dishes for lovers of French cuisine. Great food and wine pairing as well as delicious desserts.

We visited Les Bacchanales during our holiday in Vence. Absolutely a good night out, excellent food and atmosphere. Definitely worth their Michelin star. The dishes were very well balanced, extremely good tasting and service was excellent. One point of remark was that the waiter twice forgot to pour the matching wines and we had to remind him.

We were looking forward to try this restaurant and were aware that the chef was well known. By the beginning of the dinner we were not informed how the menu card worked, so after two dishes we were full and asked for the bill. By the time we received the bill we were charged for a full menu, even though we only had very few dishes. When pointing it out to the waiter he became very upset and afterwards the chef came out and spoke very impolitely to us. So after all we ended up quite shocked having had a bad experience.

After visiting the Matisse chapel with my daughter, enjoyed a fascinating lunch. Started outside, the rain threatened so swiftly moved inside. Food quality, presentation and service A++*. Highly recommend.

I cannot recommend this place. The food and wine is mediocre, but expensive. The headwaiter acted impolitely towards us, especially at the end of our dinner. In addition, the chef became almost aggressive when we asked why we were charged for food that we had never ordered nor received. It was quite an uncomfortable experience..

Great atmosphere, especially outside... Art, music, casual, and there's a friendly dog! Kids welcome but also romantic and sophisticated. One middle-eastern dish was great.

We were here 12 yrs ago and it was fabulous (Michelin star and all...) . We specifically came back to Vence to eat here again, and unfortunately the experience was not the same... There were problems and tense moments with roaming and begging animals (2 dogs and a pig, who did not getting along with a guest dog). The food was what we would call ‘peculiar’ , and not of the same spectacular quality and creativity we experienced before. We believe that they were understaffed, and basic aspects like not providing plates for the starter - only provided after asking - were signs of an overwhelmed staff. Last but not least, we are living under a Covid-19 crisis and base principles of hygiene need to be adhered to, which were simply not. In short, there is a lot of potential for improvement, unfortunately. We have experience better...

Yelp
An incredible experience from beginning to end. The host greeted us by name from the second floor balcony as we arrived! My wife and I had the chefs tasting and each dish was balanced and presented beautifully, using local ingredients. The frozen berry dessert with meringue was my favorite dish and I'm not a dessert person. A destination meal when in the Cote d'Azure.

Yelp
Christophe Dufau is a genius. And a very nice man, too. His restaurant near Vence is superb. It is a few hundred meters away from the Matisse Chapelle which is also worth a visit. We ate lunch there one Saturday in June 2014. We were in the garden, and our order was taken by CD, cooked by CD, and served (mostly) by CD. We had a wonderful shrimp appetizer that included raw almonds. I was skeptical, but it was superb. This was followed by a terrific fresh fish on a concasse of green tomatoes. Then we finished on the smoked goat cheese in smoke. If you are drinking wine, you would be foolish to think you can choose better wines for his dishes than he can. He has a wonderful staff, worthy of his restaurant. You should go if you are nearby.
