Les Bains de Montpellier

Visited in September 2024. I had the evening menu with scallops, fish, and shortbread. The most interesting part of the meal was the spinach with raisins, which was the side for the fish. I was generally disappointed with the lack of taste in the food. Nothing was bad, but nothing was good either. I could taste neither the yuzu not the wasabi in the starter, both of which are pretty strong ingredients with characteristic taste. The fish was okay. The dessert was both boring and hard to eat because of the layering of the fruit slices and the large quantity of cream on top. Service was okay but not very professional. We were a large party of approximately 40 people, so we were seated inside. The seats were comfortable, but the restaurant was loud and you could see inside messy service areas. Overall, I didn't mind eating here, but I wouldn't come back and I definitely wouldn't recommend it. For the 48 euros per menu, there must be better food in Montpellier.

A place that impacts all sences. Food was great in taste, look and feel. Not big portions but enough. Cocktails were also nice and balanced. Service was great, polite and attentive without being pushy or too much. Atmosphere is very relaxing but at the same time lively.

A wonderful restaurant, great food, lovely service from the staff and what an amazing environment in the middle of Montpellier. We had companionship of our dog, the staff was quick bringing water for him, we appreciated that. Thank you for a lovely evening :)

The duck was fantastic. Great setting. At least off season, the service was very good. I would like to come back in better weather for the inner courtyard

The place is really nice, quiet and pleasant. You can feel some historical vibes here and it's great to have such a nice environment just a few steps away from la Comédie. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed by the food that was quite bland and shows very little soul from the chef(s). I felt like the people working there just want to show off and don't really like food. They use good products but don't seem to know how to unveil their full potential and put them on the next level. Considering the prices, it's quite a shame!

Indeed the oldest restaurant in Montpeilliar! It's huge inside and yet fully booked on the night. Interesting decor in the yard with the big mussle.... food is not the biggest portion yet tasty, dessert is also good. Would recommend to book before showing up!

Nice restaurant, very cool garden you are sitting in. Nice French dishes. Burrata was awesome, duck and fish was good as well. Home cooking. Tomatoes tartar was just ok.

The service and food was great. I ordered the pasta with saint jacques and it was great. They have a spicy sauce that was awesome in that combination. The service was great, they always asked us what we wanted. You can also choose a limonade, it's a great option.

Highly Recommended in Montpellier Great location. Renovated building dates from 1770. Beautiful palm tree courtyard surrounded by private dinning rooms and a trendy bar (you'd link you were at a W Hotel). Very good regional cuisine. Did not exactly rape my taste buds with the seasonings but food was prepared from fresh ingredients with a lot of attention to detail. Reasonably priced and attentive service. Enough English spoken to help out with the menu.
