Les Delices Bakery

We've been ordering from Les Delices for several years now. Their whole cakes are perfect for any celebration, taste amazing, and are beautifully decorated. The chocolate hazelnut crunch and vanilla bean tres leches are usually the go to options, but every other little cake flavor I have tried is just as delicious! I am looking forward to trying more of the cookie varieties as well. My little one and I thought the mouse meringues were so cute and yummy! The owners are very kind and personable with great customer service. Do stop in and try this place out if you've been curious!

The lady there was nice and helpful, giving good suggestions and instructions on refrigeration. I liked the tiramisu and tres leches cake. I thought the peach tart was definitely too sweet for my taste though.

The raspberry chocolate cake was AMAZING! Not too sweet, and not too tart. So glad I stopped by this place, the woman at the counter was so lovely. I will definitely be back!!

The cakes are fresh, tasty, filling. They're sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Also sufficiently creamed. Would gladly buy again.

Outstanding French baked goods!! The apple strudel was outstanding...a must get. The cheesecake, rectangular cakes and raspberry cookie were fantastic too. $30 for five or six treats so definitely on the expensive side. But a must visit in the area!

Les Délices Bakery is hands down one of the best bakeries we’ve ever been to! This family-owned and operated gem has completely won us over. The Hazelnut Crunch cake, Mango Passion Pistachio cake, Vanilla Almond cookies, and Almond Croissants are absolute perfection; we literally can’t resist eating everything right in the car. Beyond the incredible pastries, the owners are some of the loveliest, most generous, and kind-hearted people you’ll ever meet. It feels so good to support a true mom-and-pop business that pours so much love into their craft. Supporting them doesn’t just satisfy your sweet tooth; it truly creates a positive ripple effect for the whole community. This is officially our new go-to bakery, and we couldn’t recommend Les Délices more highly!

They’re wonderful! Our go-to for birthdays and special celebrations for over a decade. Everything we’ve tried is delicious. Recently, I went to pick up an online order that in true scatterbrained mom fashion I hadn’t actually fully submitted. The owner was so kind! She took care of me and then some, accommodating me when I’m the one who made a mistake. We are so fortunate to have them as our neighbors!

An absolutely Jim! This family operated business and its owners are just excellent. I have been ordering holiday treats from them for several years. Even now that I live in a different state, I make the drive a couple of times during the year to get baked goods from here. Absolutely worth it. Well these are desserts, there is a good balance of sweetness to the treats. Checking out is easy. I’ve never had any issues with parking which is right in front of the store opening. I’ve tried cookies, cakes, croissant, pies And I’ve never been disappointed. They’re good also travel well. Without any shame, I have put these treats on nine hour long plane rides and they have held up really well even when we have them.

I was lucky enough to have my birthday cake ordered from Les Delices French bakery. Les Delices is a family favorite for birthdays and anniversaries. This year, my cake was a tiramisu birthday cake and it looked exquisite. The taste was amazing! I am still smiling when I think about how fabulous it tasted. Service is always exceptional and they are the nicest people who own this small family bakery. It is a small business with a counter and no seating area. So, plan to take your baked goods home. Once you try Les Delices Bakery, no other cake will compare. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture before we cut the cake and started eating. It was heavenly.

Update: the mango passionfruit guava cake is very good. But they do need to keep up with the times. I've ordered cakes from this bakery before. The cakes are good but I want to note the terrible service I received from them. I admit that I forgot to pick up a cake that I ordered. Life got busy. They did not leave a voicemail, text or email to notify me. I was told they called. I don't pick up if I don't know the number like most people these days. Then when I picked up a replacement cake that I had to pay for again, the old lady brought up the issue again. They seem out of touch with technology if they can't use voicemail, text or email to contact customers.

Always consistent and yummy cakes here. They have a lot of other baked items, like cookies, tarts, etc, but any of the mango cakes are fabulous. I was lucky to pick one up on the way to a potluck and they had 1 mango cake left. Plenty of variety to choose from and would love to try other cakes another time.

Have purchased bake goods from Les Delices on multiple occasions, and each time the bake goods were exceptional. If ever interested in the best bakery in the area - go to Les Delices. It's a family run business that takes great pride in their products.

Come to this French bakery for the plum tart (from Italian plums locally grown in a Catoctin farm). It's amazing. Not too sweet, not too tart. Also enjoyed the mango/passion/pistachio and apricot chocolate pictured here. The bakery has been around since 1987 - same owner!

So many delicious gluten free cake options. They have a ton of GF flavors and it's great you can just pick up a slice vs an entire cake. The GF cakes are so light and delicious!! Such a treat!

I've been a customer for 25 years (I just did the math earlier today ) and not only the quality has always been superb, the customer service has been great since the first time I made a purchase. Don't expect sugary messes, if you want a lump of sugar go buy a Kit Kat or get your cake from Giant. The quality of their ingredients and the care for following the recipes is something to admire. My fiancé loves Black currant cake, we get that every year and it is always perfect. If anything, I feel ashamed I haven't written a review until now. But I'm not wasting any more time writing this, im actually just going back to get me croissants or whatever looks good when I get there.

My favorite bakery! We ordered our wedding cake there! It was a delicious tres leche! It was a big hit! I love the almond crescents...they sell out fast! Everything is delicious The owner is so sweet . Terry D.

I feel like I am an anomaly because all these reviewers raved about how great this place is but I found it to be underwhelming for my own taste. I came here because I was interested in the lychee pistachio cake. I had ordered these slices: 1. Vanilla Bean Tres Leche 2. Vanilla Bean Blueberry Almond 3. Hazelnut Crunch 4. Lychee Pistachio And....I didn't really like any of them except for the Hazelnut Crunch. I'll be honest that I'm more used to Asian, Latino, and grocery store cakes so maybe I just dont have the proper taste buds for French goods. It was both the texture and taste that did not appeal to me. The cake slices were priced reasonably and the service was fantastic but this place will be a pass for me.

We always get a special lemon cake for one of our family birthdays each year, and it is always absolutely delicious. Well worth the money you pay.

Eh, the reviews seem to say this is an actual "French bakery", but it's not. I wouldn't say the cakes were extraordinary, they were good, but not amazing. French-wannabes, and French-style for sure. A real French bakery is more along the lines of Boulangerie Christophe, but definitely for a very pretty penny. Les Delices is good in that it's not too sweet, but their mousses are a bit dense. I would also say the flavors of their cakes aren't strong enough either, but I'll still support this mom and pop, they are good bakers and wish there were more places like this, which is becoming more like a dying art form.

Wow. Just. Wow. Needed a gluten free cake same day. I called and the person on the phone was so so friendly. Said she would make it happen by 5pm. Was ready at 3pm. She listed off all the flavors and when asked what a good recommendation is, she told me that most love the raspberry and chocolate gluten free cake. I come in and sure enough, it's ready an hour early. The kicker here is how incredibly friendly the staff was. They showed us the cake and it looked amazing. The lettering. The lettering was so amazing. The taste was incredible. I cannot say enough about this place. This is the spot to get pastries and cakes. Outstanding place.

Love to support a local business! Cookies were amazing! Didn't love that there's limited parking but it's worth the sacrifice.

These are the cakes you want to give. They are not excessively sweet. They are perfect. They will impress and please the recipient. The family is lovely.

On the hunt for a wedding cake, we kept running into bakeries with terrible tasting cakes that were way too sugary. Someone recommended Les Delices and we were amazed by how GOOD the cakes tasted! We worked with the staff member to arrange a free cake tasting and select our final cake based on our needs (we ended up getting multiple smaller cakes instead of a traditional wedding cake). She was extremely patient and informative! The final price for over six different cakes, including an extra delivery fee, ended up being under budget for us. Looking forward to eating those cakes at the wedding!

A charming little shop in a strip quite far from the main roads, but do not let the outward appearance fool you as the desserts here are solid. The taste is not overpowering and not too sweet. They have the good balance between flavor and sweetness. The prices, I think, are reasonable. I specifically enjoy their online ordering system. This makes ordering a cake online and setting a pick up time and having your message on the cake ready. It came out perfectly even when the message on my cake was a bit weird. I was celebrating my first mistake at my job - first one in 5 years. I thought it was a fun way to celebrate the break in my record. Luckily, I was able to place an order in and get a delicious cake. I was able to eat the cake by myself (smaller size). It was a bit tough as its a lot for a small cake, but I was able to do it! I ordered another cake just now and will be picking up next week for a birthday.

Very bad service. Workers don's know how to talk to their customers and that's the major problem there. They are obnoxiously proud and that's the reason they forgot their grounds. Shame!!!

The home of high quality, authentic, French style pastries and similar baked treats. Not only tasty but also beautiful. You pay a price, but you get what you pay for. This is steps above a Giant or Harris Teeter bakery.

Wouldn't say the cakes are as insanely delicious as a lot of reviews have claimed, but they're certainly alright. I find them very airy, almost too light - like a mousse texture, maybe. Ordered a couple of birthday cakes from the bakery. They were aesthetically pleasing and completed shortly after the pickup time. Service is fine, if not a little slow - but it seems to be a family owned place so no complaints here. Nice place to stop by for a slice, but probably won't be custom ordering cakes in the future.

My fiancee's birthday was coming up, and I needed a cake. Not just any cake, but an awesome cake, and Les Delicises delivered. I've actually had cakes from them before, so I knew what to expect, and they definitely exceeded my wishes. They have several kinds of cakes, and I opted for a chocolate mousse cake. It was beautifully done, done on time, and absolutely delicious. The only thing weird -- the cake was topped with strawberries (and other berries), but they didn't bother to take the leaves or stems off the strawberries. I want to scoop up the cake and berries with a fork, and eat it together. We had to remove the berry, and eat it separately to avoid the leaves.

The best cakes in Rockville! We tried the Raspberry Chocolate cake and their Dark Chocolate & White Chocolate Mousse cake. They were so moist and delicious and not too sweet. If ordering a whole cake, I recommend you order it online at least 48 hours in advance. Very friendly staff and pick up was a breeze.

This review is a long time coming. This bakery is fantastic. My brother sent me a package from them for my birthday and the package was amazing. Unfortunately my doctor wants me in a gluten free diet. Enjoy their treats for me.

We had Les Delices bake our wedding cake! They offer tasting session where we were able to taste plethora of options and even got to talk to the chef about some of the flavors. We picked two of our favors and ordered a two-tier cake. The cake was absolutely stunning and there were plenty of design and price range to choose from. The guests loved the cake for its aesthetic and taste!

Overly priced, subpar tasting sweets and cakes coupled with rude customer service is a no for me. Should have trusted the yelp reviews.

My husband and daughter picked up four slices of cake as we wanted to try them out before we ordered my daughter's birthday cake, and they were truly delightful!!! Not too sweet nor heavy at all. We loved each of them: coffee, chocolate mouse, mango pistachio and raspberry. And the raspberry wins;). Thrilled we found our new cake bakery.

Not worth a return visit. Tried four of their cakes. Disappointed. The cake descriptions and presentation are photo worthy, but sadly the taste is missing. All were simply cake covered with frosting, something that can easily be achieved with a cake mix and frosting from any supermarket. Although the cakes were not over sweetened messes found in supermarkets, nothing else was evident in the promised cake descriptions. Barely a hint of the promised flavors. You won't miss much if you go about it yourself and use real whipped cream instead of the artificial stuff.

I bought a mousse cake from this store. It is very delicious. Service was good and people are nice.

2nd year in a row ordering their cake for our daughters birthday party! Last year we did the Raspberry Chocolate Whole Cake & this year we did the Lemon Charlotte Whole Cake. There wasn't a crumb left both years ! Our friends & family raved both years about the cakes , asking where they're from !

This is my favorite bakery! A friend introduced me to their chocolate hazelnut crunch cake years ago and I fell in love with their cakes. It is a good distance from me, but I make the trip for their amazingly decadent cakes!!

Les Delices is my go to bakery for all birthday cake and holiday desserts! My absolute favorite is their Hazelnut Crunch, which is hands down the best cake. The other combination like mango mouse crunch is also great. Other favorites of mine is the tiramisu.

3/1/2023 Wed. I was at the smoke shop in this plaza and I asked about this bakery and the lady there said "it's very good", so I stopped in and... I love it!!! I picked up a few treats and noticed the cakes (look amazing and very professional). Prices are very reasonable and the lady at the counter was so nice. Their known also for their almond croissants (FYI) I'm told they are "the best". They've been in business since 1989. If I sound w cited it's because I grew up in an Italian area in Boston with awesome bakeries then spent past 17 years without any bakery around (FL/CA) so I'm beyond happy to have a nice mom and pop bakery nearby in Rockville. Cakes cookies brownies etc

One thing is for certain... if you don't like the cakes from Les Delices French Bakery: "You will never be satisfied." This is one hell of a bakery. I've been a customer for many years now, and I will be for many to come. Their cakes are delicate, moist, flavorful works of art. They are light, airy, flavorfully deep and expertly technically executed desserts and we are particularly lucky to have them in our area. For my last birthday I asked for a passion fruit cake from here and I was not disappointed. I haven't actually bought a cake here myself, though I've eaten their cakes on numerous occasions. My mother, who usually acquires these delectable treats tells me that the customer service is always excellent. I'm not gonna drone on and on like I usually do in my reviews. I know... how to shut off the water works? I can't tell you. There's no specific recommendations to make because I assure you, you'll be happy with whatever you order. I will say that yesterday I got to try their cheesecake for the first time and man oh man was that cheesecake good. I think they might have doubled the butter in the graham cracker crust cause it was some of the most insanely delicious cheesecake crust I've ever eaten. And it paired perfectly with the cake. Go to Les Delices French Bakery for your next cake or pastry. And "May you aaaalllllwwwwwaaaayyyyyssss be satisfied"

I pre-ordered a birthday cake for my colleague a week ago and was scheduled to pick it up today. This was my first time coming here. My boss had previously ordered a cake from here a few years ago and I remembered how good the tres leches was. Upon arriving, I could not get to the parking lot from one entrance as a big truck was blocking it. So I had to go all the way around after doing a u turn on East Gude towards Norbeck. Parking in front of the stores in this shopping center is limited although there is a big lot behind. There were two customers in line. Unfortunately each customer wanted individual pastries and there was only one employee working. This tested my patience as I have a low tolerance for waiting. The employee did tell the second customer that she could always call in with what she wants and they could have it ready for pick up. I was so relieved when it was finally my turn. When it was time to celebrate my colleague and I opened the box, my team expressed how beautiful the cake looked. Then when we ate it, everyone was like, "wow, oh so delicious." The cake was so moist, just how tres leches is supposed to be. I actually plan to come back later this week to buy my husband an individual slice of the tres leches. I can definitely see this bakery being a favorite for both work and personal occasions.

Yummy cakes!! I had to find a cake last minute and called up this place. They didn't have the passion fruit on standby but suggested the raspberry mousse hazelnut crunch. So I reserved it! Because I was in a rush (like I needed it right away) they were unable to write a happy birthday on it. She explained they needed at least 30 minutes which is fair! But she put a happy birthday sign and they sold candles! The cake was delicious. I'm not huge into cake because I don't like icing as they tend to be too sweet for my liking. This cake wasn't overly sweet at all because of the mousse. The hazelnut crust/crunch was a delight! Very sweet ladies behind the counter. I overheard they have a guava mousse cake and not on menu is a guava and lychee cake. BOTH sound delicious so they're def going to be on my list of where to buy cake from (and I will call days before to ensure it's available)!

I can't think of another French Bakery I've frequented in the DMV, so I won't call Les Delices the best French bakery we've been to. It's one of the best bakeries we've enjoyed in the DMV though and the cakes are out of this world delicious. My favorites were: Mango double pistachio German Chocolate Guava Chocolate raspberry Vanilla bean tres leches We were a little surprised to find the tres leches one a tad more dry than the others. My thought is, since you can find tres leches cake and many of the cookie varieties this bakery sells at other places, try out some of their other more unique offerings from the selection. We also really enjoyed their coconut macaroons and are so glad Suzanne recommended them. She was very sweet and informative during our COVID-19 visit and we are looking forward to stopping in to see her and try some of their tasty looking tarts soon.

I stumbled upon this bakery because the one I was going to was closed on Mondays due to COVID and I needed the best chocolate cake for a friend's birthday. This place was close by so I went to see what they had. I was not disappointed. Everything on display looked delicious. I got a chocolate mouse cake that was absolutely delicious! It was a bit pricey but certainly did not disappoint. I will certainly go back to try some of the other cakes.

Amazing family owned bakery! Decided to try the mango/guava/passion fruit cake and it was amazing. Never had such a flavorful but not overly sweet. The cake was so light and moist, even a few days after! During pick up the owners were so friendly and took the time to ask about the online ordering experience to ensure a seamless end to end process. Will definitely be returning!

Beautiful and delicious cakes! We got the Leno charlotte cake and it was amazing. The guava and lychee cakes were great too! Highly recommended to check the place out for cakes for celebration or individual cakes for just you!

Their cakes are an annual staple for birthdays in my family. The staff is very personable and polite. The cakes are always stunning and vibrant, visually and in taste. Rockville is proud to have such a lovely bakery for so many years!

We've driven by this place a countless number of times. We've grabbed some croissants a few years ago but my sister's absolutely favorite place for pain de chocolat and almond croissants still is from a place in Bethesda. Fast forward a few years. My family is planning a 20th Anniversary Celebration of my 20th Birthday, and although I normally bake all the cakes (from scratch) for all of our family members, I was forbidden to do any cooking and/or baking for my shindig. Boooooo. The hunt for a cake was on. We tried several slices from here and were super surprised how great they were. We got some more slices from another popular bakery off 355 that we've had success with in the past...and ended up getting 5 more slices from Les Delices to compare. Although, we decided to go a cheaper route for my party (my choice since my family was already spending $$$ on this dang party DURING the holidays), my wonderful Buffer Half ordered a cake for my actual birthday. He ordered a coffee-flavored cake and it was moist, light, perfectly flavored, & not at all cloyingly sweet...I couldn't have asked for a better cake. The different fruit-flavored slices we had tried were all amazing...like so amazing that I might need to skip baking for the next few birthdays...and I don't say that lightly. The staff is very nice there too. The other bakery we previously used (one of the highest rated ones on Yelp) on 355 has a great product but when my husband had called about making the cake, the dude who answered was super rude...& my husband is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. So, the super nice staff at Les Delices just sealed the deal along with their amazing cakes.

Look no further. This bakery is a crowd pleaser. My mom got the mango moose cake for my birthday party and almost every single guest commented on how delicious it was and asked where it came from. It's light, airy and not too sweet. They have other flavors too. Next, the almond croissant. Fresh and so satisfying. Perfect melt in your mouth flakes and delectable almond filling. It hits the spot and will change your entire day. I can't wait to go back and try more.

We are in the process of moving from CA to the DC area for my husbands job. Sadly, I'm missing his birthday as I'm still in Cali. I ordered a cheesecake for my husbands birthday, since he loves cheesecake. It turned out gorgeous! They delivered it on time during the window they quoted me. It was a little pricey but worth it to see my husband so happy. He said it was creamy and perfect! The person who helped me over the phone was super sweet and accommodating.

Customer service is outstanding. If asked, they will offer suggestions. The appearance of the bakery items are amazing. Items look too pretty to eat. The actual taste is where things fall short for me. I wasn't impressed with the flavors of the three different items I tried. Prices also seemed high ... but prices seem high everywhere. I probably won't return.

Was behind on playing the birthday party this year, only to give this bakery a try for a last minute cake (the day before the party). Not only where they able to make it the same day, but the cake looked great. Held up just fine in the refrigerator and got more then a handful of "this is the best cake ever, where did you get it from?" remarks. The Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch was amazing, it was decorated beautiful and my wife was very encouraged. Even told me, that can be my cake every year. I'd be thankful.

Omg why did I not try this place sooner! The two things I've tried so far: Hazelnut crunch cake - omfg it's perfection . The mousse is light and decadent. The crunch on the bottom balances everything out. The sweetness of this cake is divine: not too sweet and allows you to take in all the delicate flavors without your taste buds being accosted Chocolate chip cookie - slightly crispy exterior and soft on the inside. Not overtly sweet. It's perfect!

This is where we go if we want to treat ourselves or impress guests. In the past we've gotten assortments of cookies but more recently for my wife's birthday we wanted to try the cakes. We got individual pieces of the white chocolate/dark chocolate, hazelnut crunch, chocolate raspberry, and pineapple guava tart. The white chocolate/dark chocolate was good, the chocolate raspberry and the tart were great but the hazelnut crunch was out of this world. Fortunately for us, they're still open for business during the social distancing period.

Fresh and Delicious lunch. My sister and I both enjoyed it. Can't wait to go back again.
