Visiting from Vermont (U.S.) and had the best dining experience here! Some of our favorite food during our 3-day vacation to Quebec City. We ordered lamb skewers, naan, and the butter lamb, and everything was incredible. The flavors felt familiar, similar to Indian food, but it’s definitely its own thing and very unique. Especially the butter lamb, which was sweet and unlike anything I’ve ever had before. So good! Ahmed was a kind, warm, and welcoming server who truly made the experience that much better, taking time to explain dishes and making us feel right at home. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a cold, winter evening. It was a pretty close walk from the art museum, which made it an easy stop while exploring the city. Only thing to note is the steep stairs going up to the restaurant but once you’re inside, it’s absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

Food was exceptional! Great flavors, generous portions, and beautifully presented. 🍷 The owner (Zahid) he is very nice man 😊 and Staff was efficient, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The relaxing atmosphere made it even better. Will definitely be returning soon!

We came all the way from Toronto to Quebec expecting a good food experience, but it was a complete disappointment. The person serving us smelled strongly of smoke, had something in his mouth while serving, and it felt very unprofessional and unhygienic. The food itself was disgusting—to be honest, I didn’t even know what I was eating. The taste and quality were far below acceptable, especially for a place that serves the public. After traveling so far, this was the last thing we expected. Very poor hygiene, bad service, and terrible food. We will not be returning and do not recommend this place.

I usually enjoy Afghan food and was excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The service was very slow, and the food arrived cold. Some dishes also lacked the authentic flavor I expected. I hope the management can improve these areas because the restaurant has a lot of potential.

Unseasoned food. Literally no taste to the chicken or lamb. We came a long way and stopped by this restaurant and were fairly disappointed by the food. Our server was very nice and welcoming but the food was very disappointing.

A nice find. Subtle flavors all around besides maybe the baklava that missed a little something . Fair prices and a good menu selection. Will definitely be back to sample other dishes on the menu. Big plus as this is a BYOB and there is a liquor store and a grocery store nearby. Not too far away from the touristic area and you could enjoy the night sights and special lighting on Cartier street before or after your meal.

I couldn't ask for more , Food was too notch, the service was amazing And the decorations was second to none,I definitely come again .

We very much enjoyed our meals here. Very nicely seasoned and flavorful. One dish even had some spiciness by Canadian standards. From start to finish, a very nice meal. When we dined there, one could only order from the table d'hôte menu rather than à la carte, but the six combinations provided a nice selection. (The website lists an à la carte menu, so was misleading.) Good service and comfortable, homey ambiance. Note that despite the Afghan label, the food is mainly northern Indian or Pakistani. Obviously, the cuisines cross borders in that region, but even then it was much more Indian than I have had at other Afghan restaurants elsewhere. Not a complaint but an FYI.

This place here was a small little fancy restaurant. Came here with lots of kids...The server was very good and accommodating. Go us seated and ready to go. I ordered their chicken kabab plate, their daal with naan. The chicken was cooked to perfection and very tender and the naan was soooo good. There is only street parking. Overall, great experience! For my Muslim folks -They serve halal food here.

We came here for lunch. You have to walk up the stairs to get to restaurant. We ordered: Tandori chicken lunch special - the chicken was very good. The meat was very tender and had that great grill flavor. It comes with side of rice and small salad with some apple slices. Goat - the goat has some lentil. The goat was good, but could've have better spices. I prefer the chicken more. We also ordered a naan.

Great atmosphere, great food and friendly staff. The restaurant is small and expect to wait a bit for the food. However the wait is worth the dishes they bring out. Tried the Kabuli tea, and the vegetarian dish combo for 2 which was delicious, it came with naan and three side dishes including the rice. I also tried the shish kabob and it was the tastiest kabob I've had, even better than the kabobs I've tried at the Afghan restaurants in Toronto. They had delicious spices and didn't burn my mouth with hot spices. The decor was authentic, it made you feel like sitting in someone's living room with chairs and tables replacing the living room furniture. The restaurant is in a location that used to be a house so maybe that's why you feel like it's in a home. Overall, I would definitely come here again when I am back in Quebec city!

We somehow ended up here as every restaurant in the area was full. Staff is very nice. They were super busy but made every effort to accommodate us. I have never tried Afghan food but all dishes had typical Indian names. Taste was bland compared to Indian food. All 5 of us had similar experience even when we all ordered different food. Decor is good. Good place to go as change.

We enjoyed the most pure and honestly-prepared meals we have ever been served (other than Moms' of course - LOL)! We have been actively avoiding sugars, additives and highly-processed foods whenever possible and we were shocked that we had no problem finding plenty offerings that perfectly fit our specific diet preferences. This place is a true jewel of an oasis for eating out "clean". I urge you to experience this place for yourself if you like to keep it real.

TL;DR: awesome for vegetarians, service can be a bit slow but makes it good for a longer date dinner (and leaves time to drink wine!) BYOB and no corkage charge Food: I split the vegetarian shared platter for two, which was $50. It came with samosa starter; lentil, red bean and eggplant dishes with rice and naan, and a sweet baklava-like dessert. It was plenty of food for two and with our wine, I was really full at the end and couldn't quite finish my dessert. If you're here with someone else, definitely get a shared platter. Service: a bit slow to take our orders and bringing out dishes, but pace of the courses was fine and allowed plenty of time for conversation and wine. As an estimate, we were there for a little over 2 hours. Environment: nice, slightly noisy, good for groups and casual couples. Definitely bring wine or a drink.

Best Indian/Afghan/Pakistani food I've ever had! My girlfriend and I travel the four hours to Quebec city just to eat at this restaurant a few times a year. The Vindaloo is our favorite dish, EXTREMELY spicy. I've had vindaloo in other restaurants, and I've also attempted to make it at home and haven't come close to the degree of spiciness here. If you prefer something less spicy the Saag is extremely good as is the butter chicken. Don't pass up the Bhaji onions or the morgh soup as an appetizer...they are to die for. There is also an extensive vegetarian menu. Prices are a little bit on the higher end, but well worth it.

Probably the worst restaurant I have been to. Food is extremely bland, chicken was raw and service was extremely slow. I have had a lot of afghani food and this was probably the worst I have ever had. I am surprised by the positive reviews given by other reviewers. It makes me wonder whether family and friends had written the other reviews. STAY AWAY

The best butter chicken I've ever had! Every time I come to Quebec I need to eat here. I've also had the chicken korma and chicken vindaloo, both of which are amazing. The homemade naan bread is nothing short of spectacular and the baklava was a nice treat for dessert. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for some authentic and delicious food!

Oh my. Food is ABSOLUTELY amazing. Service is ABSOLUTELY horrible. If you can handle waiting 30 mins for your app order to be taken, 30 more for it to arrive and 60 more for your mains (all with a shrug of the shoulder), then you will be treated with amazingly tasty food. But bring your patience.
