We went in the middle of September in Norcia. This accommodation, which has no reception, belongs to the posher Palazzo Seneca hotel. The room was basic but nice, although the thin plaster walls made noise an issue (I could hear people downstairs talking like if they were in our room). Unfortunately, the corridors constantly smelled of smoke, and I'm not sure if it's because people were smoking in their rooms or because the door of the building was broken and kept open, so even if they smoked out, the smoke would come in anyway. There are no phones in the rooms to speak to reception, so we had to use our own mobile phone. The room was cold (thermostat reported 16° to max 18°) but because there's air-con and central heating only, you can't adjust the temperature in the room, and the reception told my husband that because it's too early in the season, they didn't want to put it on yet. So they gave us a duvet. |Breakfast is included and is held in a partner restaurant, but we had to walk on a busy main road partly without pavement, which was quite scary. I really discourage walking there. It included industrial confectionary (jams, spreadable chocolate, fette biscottate) and some nice homemade cakes and an empty croissant. We didn't bother going back the following day. Palazzo Seneca has a small SPA, and I booked a body massage, which was nice. |My husband asked the cleaner not to have room service, but she probably doesn't understand English, and when we came back, we found the room done, and all the towels changed, which is not environmentally friendly. |The staff in Palazzo Seneca's reception was very kind, professional, and polite.|
