Les Deux Tours — Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Why book? Imagine relaxing in a four-poster bed set within lush manicured gardens with meandering peacocks, in perfect seclusion. This is a must-stay Moroccan hotel. After spending the day amid the hustle and bustle of the Marrakech medina, shops, and bars, unwind every essence of your mind and soul with a spa treatment in the traditional hammam, or by sipping cocktails poolside. This place perfects the art of wellness and tranquility. Set the scene Marrakech’s magic lies beyond closed doors; in the medina's lesser-known pockets and surrounding areas like this one, the Palmeraie. Le Deux Tours is one of those hidden gems; a retreat 15 minutes from the shopping hub, it's an oasis of stunning traditional Moroccan-style buildings and private villas, sculptured tropical gardens, and a huge heated pool. It’s hard to imagine a place that is romantic and family friendly, but this is. The grounds cover three hectares of privacy and tranquility. Guests exude Yves Saint Laurent kaftan vibes; a fashion-forward, 1960s-era, quiet hedonism that allows creatives, families, and business executives to effortlessly mix. Villas are private, so you can craft an experience that suits your needs and desires during your stay. Instantly you feel at home, in a luxury experience styled with eclectic designer features. The true delight of this hotel is the concept that its indoor existence is also gloriously outdoor; the never ending labyrinthine gardens, palms, orange trees, scented flowers, small canals, fountains, and lily ponds are littered with lounging beds where you can wile away the afternoon blissfully listening to birdsong and trees that whisper. Organize a private picnic or a candlelit dinner in one of the many secluded spots, just for two. Such simple concepts that create effortless grace and something a little bit different. The backstory The elegant, old-world style here was imagined and designed in the 1990s as a small village of private homes and villas. Over time Les Deux Tours was converted to rental accommodation, then to an enclosed boutique hotel, which is why the experience feels private yet swimming in community. The villas feel like homes where you close the door and relax on your own or with family, or wander out to the gardens and meet friends old and new by the communal bar, pool, or in the restaurant for aperitivo and dinner over local music. Designed by one of the most influential architects in Morocco, Charles Boccara, of Tunisia, this is an eclectic blend of modern Maroc Tadelakt architecture, moorish tones finessed with Andalusian touches, and European vintage furnishings. The mix of styles and global inspirations from classic, vintage to modern could have felt disconnected if not embedded in the core essence of Moroccan heritage style and simplicity. Every essence catered for. The rooms This is a collection of architecturally designed private villas, suites, and rooms within vaulted or carved ceilings, arches, and terraces. Each room, often behind a hidden alcove, has earthen walls and original features like Tataoui ceilings. Bathrooms are bejmat tile with zelliges or marble, adding local stone textures. What makes this so delightful is the interior and exterior styling—restored antique Moroccan furnishing, local artisan crafts on the walls, old Marrakech photography, vintage art-deco and murano glass chandeliers. It’s this mix of all of Morocco's past, present and future. If you can afford a suite or private villa, this is a place to splash out. All rooms are amazing and suit a variety of budgets. There are 40 rooms and suites; nine are private residences with heated pools, 11 Classic Rooms, 13 Junior Suites, five Premium Suites, seven Pool Suites, and five Suites d’exception. All have free WiFi, televisions, and air conditioning. Rates start at $250 per night. Food and drink The hotel has three restaurants; there's a globally inspired (with French, Thai, and Moroccan fusions) menu at Salammbô, and Yoshi Bar serving delicious sushi and Japanese, for the two main dining options. The hotel grows many of its produce within the grounds and is committed to locally sourced ingredients. Lastly, La Pergola is the poolside restaurant bar serving the kind of poolside cuisine you would expect from a boutique hotel: The cocktail bar serves a variety of wines, cocktails as well as top class cigars. Signature cocktails Rock the Kasbah and Live Irresistible are standouts. Room service is also available, and you can organize a private dinner within the grounds. Breakfast every morning overlooking the gardens with freshly baked french pastries, local breads, yogurt, fruits, coffee and hot meals. The spa, pool + gym Les Bains, the hotel spa and hammam, offers a range of traditional therapies to choose from. It has a two-room traditional steam bath, to experience a central part of Moroccan bath house tradition. (Booking ahead is essential.) Treatments use Nectarome products, a range of cosmetics made from medicinal and aromatic plants grown on the steep slopes of the Atlas mountains respecting both the environment and Morocco’s traditions. The traditional hammam’s scrub and massage will leave you floating on the clouds. A 28-meter heated pool surrounded by lounge chairs and terrace is open daily, and snacks, drinks and meals are available from the pergola-shaded poolside bar. There are two other plunge pools located in different parts of the property. There’s also a well equipped gym. The neighborhood/area Driving through the Palmeraie, full of palm groves and estates, this is just close enough to the souk—and yet far enough away from the buzz to relax. Guests do need a car to get to the souk and back which can be organized by the hotel. There’s not much to do outside the hotel’s immediate surroundings, but everything you need is inside the grounds, or can be arranged for you. The service Impeccable. If you stay a few days, the staff will know your name and your preferred order, special dietary needs, and favorite cocktail. The attention to detail and care just means you can relax and enjoy. If you have a special request, they are more than happy to organize excursions and special experiences for you. For families The hotel caters well to families of all ages. Eco effort The team at Les Deux Tours continuously work to create an environmentally friendly hotel experience. From organic produce with plentiful vegan and vegetarian options to sustainable water practices to keep the gardens lush and efficient electricity and gas to keep the hotel running. Accessibility Not all rooms are accessible due to stairs, so it’s worth speaking to the hotel in advance about any mobility requirements." - Mel McVeigh

Everything about this place is heavenly. It felt timeless, discreet, tranquil, romantic and nostalgic all at the same time. Seeing peacocks, birds and nature right at your doorstep. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom authentic old Moroccan. I tried to capture it. This is a place I definitely want to go back to to just rest. That said it was close to town so we went out and about, enjoyed the nightlife and returned to the haven - Les Deux Tours xx

Our third visit to Les Deux Tours, and it was better than ever! So much so that visit number four is already in the calendar for next year.||Our welcome was warm and genuine, and our room upgrade was very well received. We were given a large room, with a shared patio, and tranquil pond. The bed was enormous, and the room's AC was very efficient maintaining a comfortable temperature without needing to be on the whole time. ||Breakfast included a vast choice and we're glad the hotel has moved to an order system rather than the previous massive selection delivered that led to wastage. A great improvement.||The dinner menu was fine for the 6 days we were there, but some additional choices might be nice for longer stays. The wine selection was good.||The bar area is relaxing, although getting served (despite the quietness) can be difficult.

Fantastic hotel, elegant, beautiful, very well maintained, clean and good quality. Upon arrival the amazing staff will offer you a mint tea as a welcome gesture. Rooms are very spacious and delicately decorated, great value. The swimming pool is beautiful and also enjoyable with kids. A taxi will bring you to the center in 20mn. Can't wait to come back!

This hidden gem, a charming hotel with 40 rooms and suites, exceeded our expectations. We booked months in advance, and the communication from the booking team to the reception team was excellent. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Wafa, the customer experience manager, who provided her WhatsApp number, gave us a guided tour, and set the stage for a wonderful five-day stay. Mr Hejjag, the General Manager, also greeted us during check-in, offering another warm welcome. Throughout our stay, both were highly visible and clearly focused on ensuring all guests had an enjoyable experience.|We stayed in a premium suite, the one featured on the website, which had its own courtyard garden with a day bed and seating for four. The suite was extremely comfortable with a shabby chic feel, adding to its authentic Moroccan charm. Outside our door was a small pool shared by just the rooms around a small courtyard, making it very quiet. Each day in our garden, the only sound was birdsong, creating a wonderfully tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. Housekeeping was excellent, providing bottles of water daily for the kettle and drinking.|The food at the hotel was wonderful. Breakfast was à la carte, offering a good selection of eggs cooked in various ways, cold meats, cheese, fruit, and great coffee. Entertainment was provided by Pol, the resident peacock, who should have his own Instagram due to his love for the camera! We had lunch at the Pergola restaurant for four days, enjoying a great choice of dishes, and they were happy for us to share a dish due to the large portions. One day, we had room service for lunch, which arrived hot and nicely presented. The evening offerings at Salammbo were just as good, with a two-course menu featuring plenty of choices at reasonable prices. The chef is very accomplished, and the wine list includes a mix of French and Moroccan wines, all at good prices. We were pleasantly surprised by the Yoshi bar, where we had a wonderful supper.|The staff were exceptional. After a few days, we started to recognise them at breakfast, and they always greeted us warmly. Although they didn't have name badges (perhaps something the hotel could consider?), they were all courteous, helpful, and very professional.|Some posts mention families with children, and the hotel is indeed family-friendly. If you prefer a holiday with only pre-school children around the pool, do your homework before booking and avoid British and French school holidays, half terms, and bank holidays.|Would I recommend it? Absolutely. We are currently looking at booking flights for a winter break, and our hotel will definitely be Les Deux Tours. Thank you to the wonderful team for a truly restful and superb trip. See you in January!|Catherine and John Walker

This hotel is incredible!!! We stayed for only two nights after a few nights in the medina, and we wished we spent the whole trip here.||We were surprised on arrival to be upgraded to a beautiful suite with our own private garden and hot tub, full of shady spots to sit and read quietly. Even if we hadn’t had the fantastic upgrade it would still have been heaven. ||The staff were all fantastic, and catered well for a coeliac. The grounds are beautiful, it’s a relaxing oasis.||We can’t wait to return!!!

My husband and I visited Les Deux Tour for our final week of our honeymoon. It was incredible and just the most perfect harmonious and peaceful place. The service was impeccable and very attentive, nothing was ever too much to do to help. We loved the animals around the hotel, which made it feel like a home from home! Although we stayed in the medina the week prior, it was nice to know we were still close enough to pop in if we needed to - taxis were arranged easily through the hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a lovely authentic feel. We chose a garden room (premium suite I think) and it was lovely to have our own little patio and garden to have a cup of tea in the morning. The food gets a special mention as it was outstanding, always set in a beautiful location surrounded by nature. We both thought it was some of the best we had and great value for money for the quality fine dining experience. We both agreed it was lovely to have different areas to eat so you didn't always end up in the same seat/setting for food. We also did the 1001 light dinner in the garden, which was so perfectly put together - one of the most special things we have done. A special thank you to Mohamed (Director of Operations) and Maryam (Guest Experience) for making our stay so incredibly welcoming. We have already booked our next trip and we can't wait to be back in the beautiful oasis of Les Deux Tours!

My husband and I had an excellent dreamy stay here with our toddler daughter while visiting Marrakech. The hotel and whole property are stunning- we loved our gorgeous spacious room with the perfect combination of both modern and Moroccan decor. The hotel’s main areas were also beautifully decorated. The gardens are superb and they also grow their own vegetables on site. The pool area is large and perfectly clean. The staff were all above and beyond fantastic from the front desk reception to the restaurant, pool, spa, housekeeping and groundkeepers. They were always happy, kind, helpful and accommodating with our daughter. We loved seeing the staff daily. The food at the restaurant was excellent as well. We only wished they would have earlier than 7:30pm seatings for dinner as our daughter often eats earlier, but we made it work at that time, and other times the bar/Japanese restaurant were very flexible and allowed us to order food for her there earlier. We had ventured around Marrakech several times which could be very busy and at times chaotic, but loved returning to Les Deux Tours which was such a peaceful haven. We would easily stay here again and can’t wait to!

A Disappointing Experience That Falls Far Short of Five Stars||||We booked Leda To Hotel in Marrakesh with high hopes, expecting a luxurious five-star experience based on the glowing photos and reviews. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what was advertised.||||From the moment we arrived, the service was underwhelming. A staff member greeted us at the entrance, but instead of helping with our luggage or guiding us to reception, he simply pointed up a pathway, leaving us to lug our suitcases ourselves. Not the warm welcome one expects from a supposedly five-star resort.||||While the gardens were undeniably beautiful, nearly every other aspect of the hotel was mediocre or worse. The food was average at best. Breakfast was exactly the same every single day with no variation. The evening meals looked promising on the menu but were poorly executed — the meat was consistently overcooked. We ended up dining at nearby restaurants every other night, which were exceptional and made the hotel’s offerings look even more disappointing by comparison.||||We were also surprised (and frustrated) to find bottled water in the room came with a charge — something not made clear until we received the final bill. In a country where drinking tap water is a health risk for tourists, this felt more like a cash grab than a premium service.||||The spa was another letdown. It felt basic and not particularly clean. During my full-body massage, I wasn’t even offered a robe or a drink, and the therapist spent the entire 50-minute treatment yawning, making it impossible to relax.||||Requests at reception were met with apathy. We asked to change some cash, book a late checkout, arrange a taxi to the airport, and reserve access to a first-class lounge — none of which were fulfilled. The response felt like “computer says no” every time.||||In summary, this hotel is nowhere near five-star quality. Don’t be fooled by the polished photos and selectively positive reviews. We made the mistake of dismissing the few negative reviews we saw before booking — a mistake we won’t repeat. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
