A Design Hotel....Designed and opened 2006. The conversion of this old building in Saint-Sauvant is one of interest, a clever adaption of space but relying on many levels and stairs, which could be a problem for some guests and was for me........
The hotel is showing its age now and does require some attention to bring back to life its clear intentions.
The exterior signage is peeling some items showing wear and tear, and the ' designer ' items sadly a little dated now but easily rectified with a little imagination and expenditure to bring it up to todays date.
Our room ( L'Herve ) did have a problem with the air-conditioning which caused us some concern and some items of furniture and fittings were not as expected..the double bed was very comfortable though.
A table d'hote is offered and we did enjoy the meal provided, we thought a little expensive for what it was. A good selection of wines are available.
Would we stay again..No, but that is our choice, this hotel does have good reviews but perhaps not with the style and designer eye we have.
For information our 1 night stay for 2 persons cost: 316.40€ ( Suite room, dinner & wine, 2 x drinks, breakfast +taxes )
Ex Head of Design V&A Museum London.
