An interesting even brilliant conversion of an old building, but too many stairs and perhaps spaces...designed and opened in 2006 it is now looking tired and sorry to say dated. A quiet re think and a small expenditure would refresh the interior fixtures and fittings. Starting with the peeling hotel name on the exterior..

A Design Hotel....Designed and opened 2006. The conversion of this old building in Saint-Sauvant is one of interest, a clever adaption of space but relying on many levels and stairs, which could be a problem for some guests and was for me........ The hotel is showing its age now and does require some attention to bring back to life its clear intentions. The exterior signage is peeling some items showing wear and tear, and the ' designer ' items sadly a little dated now but easily rectified with a little imagination and expenditure to bring it up to todays date. Our room ( L'Herve ) did have a problem with the air-conditioning which caused us some concern and some items of furniture and fittings were not as expected..the double bed was very comfortable though. A table d'hote is offered and we did enjoy the meal provided, we thought a little expensive for what it was. A good selection of wines are available. Would we stay again..No, but that is our choice, this hotel does have good reviews but perhaps not with the style and designer eye we have. For information our 1 night stay for 2 persons cost: 316.40€ ( Suite room, dinner & wine, 2 x drinks, breakfast +taxes ) Ex Head of Design V&A Museum London.

We had a lovely 1 night stay (with our dog) whilst driving through France. Nice room, an excellent dinner and breakfast combined with friendly service in a wonderfully serene location made this a happy find for us. We would be very happy to return!

We had a magical stop in this beautiful village. We had dinner and breakfast, both prepared by the owner I believe - it was incredible. The best meals we eaten during our entire trip. Saint Sauvant is very picturesque. Great stop off when travelling through France - especially if you have a dog :)

Beautiful and stylish hotel in a charming village. We stayed here one night on our way to Bordeaux, arrived in the evening. Warm welcome by the host, tasty diner on the terrace next to the pool. Wonderful breakfast: no buffet but carefully assorted products.

A charming little hotel in a small town. Make sure you have at least one dinner at the hotel, for the food was spectacular. Wonderful place to stop by for a few days.

We stayed here on the way through France to Spain. It was easy to find and only a short distance from the motorway. Check in was swift and informal and we were shown exactly where we could safely park which was almost next to the hotel.|The hotel is very small (10 rooms) but our room, a superior double was quite spacious with a small separate seating area and decent size bathroom with in bath Shower. The bed was very big and super comfy with soft pillows. |There are a couple of cosy bar/seating areas and a small restaurant where we had an excellent evening meal. The food was presented beautifully and tasted wonderful. Breakfast was equally lovely, with fresh fruits, yoghurt, pastries etc. There is an extremely limited choice of menu, but everything is fresh and we really couldn't fault it. Perfect for a one ( or possibly two) night stay.|

Stylish hotel in pretty village but our attic room was cramped. At 100 euros both the ceiling and the price were steep! In addition, the shower room was only semi private with a glass wall. ||Didn't eat in but pool and dining room looked nice. Owners friendly and helpful but we like more space.
