Les Lodges Sainte-Victoire Hotel & Spa

We stayed straight after our wedding and it was the most perfect weather and setting. We couldn’t have asked for anymore! We had a lovely room with a balcony, it was spacious clean and modern. The staff are really great (Luca and Benjamin were very professional and super helpful!) and always on hand to help in any way. We ate at the hotel restaurant the first night and thoroughly enjoyed every course. We also ate at a relatively new restaurant 5 min drive away called Monsieur Louis Le Tholonet and the atmosphere/service was fantastic so also recommend! If you’re looking for a luxury spa getaway in the stunning Provence setting, I would highly recommend.

After a gastronomique tour de force in Lyon and a fascinating visit to the historical Avignon, my family and I were ready for some relaxation in the third and final leg of our trip. Enter Les Lodges Saint Victoire, an utterly charming and exceptional retreat in the hills outside of Aix-en-Provence. As we approached Les Lodges from the windy road of Route Cezanne, we were introduced to an enchanting Provence country house. Gregory, at the reception, greeted us, and we were impressed not only with his warm welcome but also with his impromptu fluency in Mandarin Chinese. He, as with the rest of the staff, took care of us. Whether it was Ben, Bianca, Lucas, Thom and Eric at the concierge desk taking us into town or to the nearby village of Le Tholonet or Alica who provided a much-needed spa treatment for tired muscles trail running up in the nearby hills or shopping at the Aix open market, Les Lodges staff were so patient, considerate and professional. The kids loved the general swimming pool and could have honestly spent the entire day had we not scheduled trips to the nearby vineyards. We slept so well in the rooms with comfy beds, pillows, and blackout curtains. Finally, the grounds of the hotel and spa are so serene and inspiring, especially with the unobstructed view of Montagne Sainte-Victoire. We could really understand why Paul Cezanne feted the vistas and landscapes of his birthplace. We are still in awe of how Les Lodges can be subtly modern yet charmingly rustic, and we feel this must be a Provence experience. We would love to come back to Les Lodges and experience this all over again, like deja vu!

Les Lodges is about 30 minutes from the Marseille Airport. After a quick Uber to the hotel we completed check in while resting on the beautiful terrace. Most staff speak English as well as French so communication was no issue. The hotel is beautiful - I don’t believe there is a better view in all of Provence. We spent 6 nights at Les Lodges and would be delighted to do so again. The hotel is just outside of the city center, but the free shuttle service made it easily accessible. We had a number of excursions booked during our stay and did not feel it would be worthwhile to also rent a car (and pay to park the car in town). Onsite dining was delicious (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The concierge team was fantastic and helped make suggestions for food and dinner reservations when dining away from the Les Lodges. The staff truly wanted us to have the best experience we could possibly have in Aix-en-Provence. If you do not mind being outside of the city center and are interested in a quiet retreat with excellent accommodations, then I would not hesitate in booking.

Our five days in Provence was intended to be a chance to have some peaceful time after an action-packed two weeks in Paris. Les Lodges proved to be the perfect place for this purpose. Every staff person was friendly and helpful. Our room was quiet and very comfortable. Our time on the patio, in the pool, or lying on a chaise was perfect. The shuttle into town was super convenient. Most of all we valued our time on the patio with a bottle of rosé watching the sunset. What an awesome stay!

Well that was a real 60th birthday experience…… We had looked forward to this for a long time…….decided to spoil ourselves and sample the best. How we got it wrong The hotel claims 5 stars, but sadly it fell a long way short. Future visitors beware On arrival we were showed to our ‘deluxe balcony suite’ on the first floor - except that it wasn’t deluxe didn’t have a balcony and wasn’t on the first floor. Suite C9 is clearly the place they put people who really dont care, it’s dark, dismal and overlooked by the ground floor side passage with no views of anything. So as you’d expect we complained, showed the team our confirmation email that clearly acknowledged we had secured a 1st floor balcony suite - but to no avail. As you guessed, they had given it to someone else. They apologised - but could do nothing (so they said)! So guess what - we ended up downgrading to a standard room, such a great start, high hopes dashed, and they knew it was my 60th birthday. Don’t get me wrong the location is spectacular and parts of the hotel get close to being 5 stars, but the AC in our room never got lower than 22 degress, the food in the restaurant (and pool area) was only average and for non meat eaters quite poor, and the wine list was very limited, and it’s in Provence for goodness sake. On the positive side, most of the staff were keen to help, but it’s clear that they struggle badly at times. The concierge found us a great restaurant 15 minutes away that became our regular go-to, breakfast was ok and the outside setting made it special, but this place has a lot of work to do to claim five stars. Oh, we still haven’t got our refund as apparently it’s policy to not refund the money (we already paid weeks ago) until you check out, I have a feeling that will be another stress inducing experience as well. If you were looking to be indulged, feel special and enjoy a hassle free time - go elsewhere.

This is a beautiful hotel. The pool facilities and setting are lovely and you are greeted warmly. Breakfast was wonderful too. It’s a good alternative if you want peace and quiet and a good base for Provence. |One thing we felt was lacking was a fixed shower head. The bathroom has a bath with hand held shower head that’s not wall mounted. We had to rig it up to make an over head shower. I’d expect a proper shower in a five star resort. |I would also note that the rooms are a bit small and dark (we were in the out building). The large, furnished balcony is lovely. |The setting and service at the restaurant was excellent.

Incredible hotel! We loved our stay. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the bathrooms are modern with everything working perfectly. The spa is very nice with a small hammam and sauna and a relatively large indoor pool. The outdoor pool is heated and also quite large with superb views on the countryside. The service was very attentive and friendly, maybe a bit slow at dinner but we didn’t mind as we were happy to take our time. The location of the hotel is ideal with an incredible view on St Victoire and great access to walks in the mountains. It is also 30min from Marseille airport which is very convenient. All in all, we loved our stay and can’t wait to go back! Thank you!

Excellent service, property, food, and accommodations. Hands-down one of our favorite properties (of 6) during our visit to southern France. The team went above and beyond for some unique needs that came up while we were staying there. From initial contact prior to our trip, concierge was incredibly helpful in providing ideas and ship options. What's really cool is that they're not just trying to sell you things but they want you to have a great provencal experience and will often say this is something you don't need a tour to do. If you're uncertain about staying here don't think twice, it's an absolute delight!

Excellent! Everything about this hotel was wonderful! The friendly and helpful staff, the beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast & lunch, spa (my fiancé and I received massages & facials), infinity pool with spectacular view. We also had a wonderful dinner at the very upscale St Esteve restaurant steps away from the hotel.

OMG, I think I found heaven on earth. Understated luxury in the most peaceful setting on earth. The beautiful sounds and smells of Provence overlooking the olive trees. I am so relaxed I think I might pass out. I am scared my body will go into shock leaving this amazing place!!
