Les Manoirs de Tourgéville (Deauville, Normandy) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Not far from Honfleur and the boardwalk at Deauville, Les Manoirs de Tourgéville is a Norman classic, if an unusual one — the half-timbered main building is traditional enough, but the four “manoirs,” however conventional their interiors, are perfect circles. The rooms and suites vary in size and plan, but in style they’re a contemporary update of a classic French country-house aesthetic. There’s an extensive spa and wellness program, as well as a 50-seat cinema, and the restaurant, 1899, serves a modern interpretation of classic Norman flavors, with many dishes crafted from ingredients grown on site." - Tablet Hotels

We had a (mostly) lovely stay at the hotel. The rooms were great, the hotel staff was nice and the pool and beautiful grounds were lovely. The downside was the restaurant. While the food was good, the service was slow, and the older man who ran the buffet breakfast was just nasty. We waited to be seated for the buffet for 5 minutes and no one came so we sat down and went to get breakfast. Apparently we had sat down on the wrong side of the restaurant that was set up for lunch time and not breakfast, but who were we to know as no one told us. First, a younger server said nothing to us and took away our cutlery. Then an older tall man yelled at us from across the room that we were not allowed to sit there and demanded us to move. He then came up to us to continue arguing with us telling us we could not sit there because it was for lunch service and easier for him if we sat on the other side of the room. We, as customers, have travelled well around the world and have never been yelled at in a restaurant. Ruined our meal. We complained to the hotel staff and they did nothing. While the hotel part was lovely and their staff were friendly, I would avoid the restaurant. Eat out in Deauville where there are nicer restaurants.

Great location in a park. Only a few minutes away from Deauville and Trouville. We travelled with our dog, who was welcome everywhere in the hotel (except of course the swimming pool and spa area). Staff was very kind, good restaurant

Having read quite a few of the reviews, service seems to be the prevailing factor on which I must agree...||Check in - well all I can say is this was it was efficient. I would like to say it was friendly but it was not. In fact, any time we had occasion to interact with reception the gentleman on it had the same attitude. Not a good first impression.||We stayed for 2 nights in a Manoir Suite, number 19. The suite itself was of good size, with an inner courtyard, table, chairs, umbrella. We had a minstrel gallery in the suite which gave the room a feeling of space. It was well furnished, clean, tidy. However, the ambience was one of feeling cold, no real warmth. Sofa, chairs, book shelf TV, very sterile, certainly not what it looks like on the hotel website.||Bedroom was comfortable, bathroom was much the same. Nothing amazing, considering these are among the top suites at the hotel and cost us €365 per night in early September.||The choice of refreshments in the room was poor. No English or French breakfast tea, no milk, no proper cups. Why do these types of hotels, especially of this standard, feel that by providing paper/plastic cups, with paper stirrers, it's acceptable. What is wrong with a nice china cup / mug from which to drink with proper silverware?||No air conditioning, no ceiling fans. I would not wish to stay here in the heat of summer.||The bar area was well furnished and opened out on to the garden. However, it felt uncared for. No fresh flowers. Lounge cushions left all dented from where other guest had sat. Drinks left on the tables. Dirty windows.||Dining room had recently re-opened after modernisation. It was bright, clean, fresh in appearance. Service was okey, nothing special, same with the food. Fish soup was very tasty, pate de foie gras and the lamb shank both very appetising. The Monkfish was very small in its proportions and the french fries we ordered never arrived. Cheese plate was plentiful - order one and share, it is more than enough.||No turn down - which surprised us, given it was a 4 star hotel. We had left wet towels on the floor, which had not been replaced, as we thought they might, so had to switch the towel rail on full to dry them ready for the morning use!||Breakfast was interesting - The dining room was half full, lots of tables laid ready, so we were shown to the only table not laid!! We had to sit there while it was laid in front of us. Why? I guess as we were two people, and the laid tables were for four, the staff could not be bothered to relay them!!!||It's a Buffett breakfast. Fresh orange juice was empty at 9;34 and never refilled. The choice was okey, but again nothing special. No menu to choose from it was buffet or leave it.||Staff in general at both dinner as well as breakfast were not that friendly, my partner speaks good French and on several occasions tried to engage in conversation, given the restaurant was half full, but nothing. It was like it was all too much trouble.||We were surprised to find that after our room had been serviced the very small bottle of complementary water was not replaced. Guess they want you to buy from the very expensive mini bar!! ||After dinner one evening we walked back to reception to ask for some milk to take to our room to have with the tea bags we had taken from the buffet at breakfast, as there were none in the suite. You would think we had asked them to go milk a cow the fuss they made....||I was interested to read about the Floirat family, who own/run this hotel, as well as others. I think that family should make a surprise visit to this hotel, as it does not live up to all the hype they talk about in their article.||We have a dog, which we choose not to take on holiday with us, so we are not people who do not like dogs, but dogs in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Sometimes it felt we were dining in a kennel, not a 4 star hotel. Dogs walking about, some dogs even barking at each other. ||Sadly we would not recommend or stay at this hotel again. We feel it is overpriced, lacks friendly service, does not respect or care for its guests and just offered enough to attain its 4 star rating.

We have stayed at this hotel for many years now and every year it's a little bit worse. On the positive side, there are many friendly and hard-working staff, but the property itself is sadly in decline. We stayed in a Manor Suite. The wardrobe was too narrow to accommodate the width of their coathangers and kept getting jammed; the table outside dripped rust onto my new skirt and I still can't shift the stains; the lounge furniture was covered in stains from the spillages of former guests and they appear to be running out of water for the bedside tables - on the first day 2 tiny bottles, then one tiny bottle between us for 2 nights , finishing with no water at all on the last night. The outdoor bar would be nice if the cushions out there weren't covered in bird droppings (I mentioned this in last year's review, but it was clearly not taken on board). We booked a table specifically outside at their restaurant, but when we arrived, they told us outside wasn't available - if they had sent a message to our suite to advise us, we would have had time to book somewhere else. As it was, we looked at the inside restaurant, but it had no atmosphere and smelt of stale food so we left and ended up eating a baguette back at our suite - what a shame for our final night in France!| The guys next door to us had dogs - we like dogs, but they elected to poop just outside our front door and it was left like that for the rest of our stay - no attempt to clean up the frontage or lawn. It used to be a lovely place to sit in the evening sun - but not with that view!|The final thing to mention is that, if these guys realise we've stayed with them for around the past 15 years on and off (Covid the exception) - they never mention it. Most hotels at least give us a "welcome back".

Nice hotel, but service is so so. We had an incredible noise in our room during the night and couldn’t sleep. When we shared this to the reception, they just said sorry without any commercial gestures for guests that had a sleepless night. The sundbeds were full of bird poo

Well managed. Tasteful and quiet. Am oasis of style away from the garish glitz of Deauville.

This hotel has strong pros and cons:||Pros:||Friendly staff across all aspects of the hotel, quality of food in the restaurant is good, the bed in our bedroom was enormous and the mattress good quality, The surroundings are rural and peaceful..||Cons||25 Euros for a burger and chips in the restaurant - very pricy. Bar service is patchy and the outdoor chairs had cushions covered with bird droppings. No aircon in the bedrooms whicjh is not the best on a hot day.
