I chose Les Papilles because of the great reviews and I was not disappointed. I really appreciated the thorough and passionate explanation of the menu which set the tone for an excellent evening. The food itself feels like elevated home cooking — the meal that one dreams to have in Paris. It comes in very generous portions so only take the “formule” (prefixed menu) if you’re hungry! For us the 4 courses of the day were: gazpacho, lamb stew, cheese, panna cotta with apricots. And of course a delicious wine. Thank you for this amazing experience!

I had to come here as it was recommended by Guillaume Brahimi from Australia. Booking was easy via email with prompt response last night. Reception was extremely friendly and courteous, and the "market of the day" menu was explained well in English to us foreigners 😸 The cauliflower veloute entree was amazing, the lamb baked 7h then wrapped in aubergine slices was amazing, the aged Camembert tasted amazing accompanied by picante and pear puree. Last but not least, the cherry pannacotta was the best we've ever had (cherries are in season). The recommended accompanying red wine perfectly matched the lamb (it was a shiraz blend). This is a must go place when in Paris!! 😋😋

I’ve been here a couple times and have always had a great experience. There is a set menu everyday which changes with availability and seasons for 45 €. I had to email to get a reservation for our party of 6 and loved the quaint ambiance of this restaurant. It’s intimate yet inviting. It is also a wine cellar with various price points and wine regions. Staff are helpful in choosing bottles! For starters we had a mushroom cream soup which was delicious, rich in flavor and amazing with fresh bread. Our main was Blanquette de Veau (veal stew) which was AMAZING. Meat fell off the bone, flavorful, and loved that we could also try the bone marrow as it was left in the bone. Next was a cows milk blue cheese with a prime. Surprisingly delicious. Dessert was an apple panna cotta. We were stuffed by the end of it. Our group loved the family style dining and the whole experience! I’ll continue to return when in Paris

This hidden spot masterfully captures the essence of French cuisine, delivering a gastronomic experience that surpasses expectations. Les Papilles offers an intimate setting with closely arranged tables, showcasing a small yet exquisite menu. We tried the “Return from the market” dinner menu. The soup, a masterpiece in itself, boasted a creamy texture. The main course was beef shoulder cooked in wine with vegetable and boiled potatoes. It was juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. As a wine cellar primarily, the option to pair a carefully chosen wine with the meal was a delightful touch. You could also opt to order a glass of red/white wine, but the choice is limited. The French blue cheese and the pear panna cotta dessert was a showstopper, leaving a lingering sweetness. It was truly an unforgettable experience. The place however did lack some attentive care to the customer. A periodic check on customer satisfaction or the need for adjustments in the dish would have enhanced the overall experience.

Everything about this meal was stellar. From the moment we sat down, the service and presentation were outstanding. Each course was delicious from the soup to the duck, and the amazing panna cotta. The wine pairing was perfect. An all around excellent dining experience in a cozy and colorful setting.

Google
Great ambience that you can feel the French touch everywhere. The food was delicious and a little bit heavy, the wine selection we left to our chef was amazing. It deserves to be one of the Michelin recommended restaurants.

Google
The best dining experience. Went once and just had to go back a few days later with adult children. The food, the wine was divine. Loved it...highly recommended

Wow! One of the best meals of my life. This was our final meal in Paris and we saved the best for last. Four amazingly prepared courses, very English language friendly. Glad we made reservations before our trip because the place filled up very quickly. Highly recommend.

Yelp
If I had dreams of owning a restaurant this would be the style and ambiance and quality of wine and food I would strive for. Bravo for a wonderfully enjoyable experience. The evening we dined the starter was a cauliflower soup with a few garnishes that was a flavorful experience- I believe it included bacon, feta and maybe crouton. Next was a beef cheek stew, cheese and tapenade and then a panicotta for dessert. The wine recommended for our meal was perfect as was the dessert wine. Our first dinner in Paris and the bar has been set extremely high! If in Paris- make reso and enjoy!

Yelp
Shockingly Parisian in the best way possible, our meal at Les Papilles was a seasonal selection of delight after delight! Just walking in the restaurant held a subtle smell of the kitchen herbs. The four course, prix fixe meal was divine, and while the menu changes daily, ever plate shone. The restaurant is also a wine cellar with a pick-your-own bottle vibe. The bottles were well organized and the staff helped us choose - and it was an excellent bottle from burgundy that paired well with the meal and was delicious on its own.

Yelp
This was a small but amazing Italian restaurant about a block from the Pantheon. The waitress was so nice. I had a simple pasta with Parmesan and smoked salmon and enjoyed every bite. Tables were outside, inside and on an enclosed porch between the two. It was a little wet that day so we sat on the porch. Just outside was a view of the Eiffel tower in the distance with the top obscured by clouds.

Yelp
We discovered this restaurant 10yrs ago in one of our early trips to Paris and we always come back every time we're here.

Sam K.

Yelp
We had a good four-course dinner at Les Papillea tonight except that the pork loin was a bit dry. The sweet potato cream soup was expertly prepared with bits of chorizo, crunchy pork rinds, and served with a mound of whipped cream on top of mashed sweet potato. The blue cheese paired with dates were a good choice as well as a tasty panna cotta.

Michael P.

Yelp
Wonderful bistro with truly amazing food and friendly service! The aroma from the kitchen captures your attention as soon as you enter and your experience only gets better as the meal is presented.

Yelp
You know it's made for tourists when there's English on the menu. I would say it's a decent restaurant and beautifully decorated. The outdoor seating area is separated into smoking and non-smoking. The escargots were very good, super buttery and garlicky and I wanted another place. However the main dishes were all a bit dry, so I wasn't too impressed overall.

Cindy C.

Yelp
I booked a reservation for this place 2 months in advance just because I wanted to take my mom to a nice French restaurant while we were in Paris. It was a 4 course meal and we ordered escargot on the side. Service was great but I guess I was more disappointed in the food. Maybe French food is just not for me. The gaspacho de tomates is a cold soup. I could not even finish half of it and I love all types of soup. I felt like asking them to microwave my soup haha bc I just did not like cold tomato soup. Second dish was pork with creamy polenta. The pork was so hard, i could barely chew it. Didn't finish it but I loved the polenta. My mom doesn't really like meat so they gave her the option of the tuna. She really liked that one. Third dish was the goat cheese with olive tampenade. This was pretty delicious but heavy since it's a big piece of cheese. Last was dessert. Strawberry pannacota. Wow they definitely saved the best for last. It was so good. We also ordered escargot and that was also delicious. Ended up using the butter for my complimentary bread. Most likely would not come back here :( but it was a good experience. Even the French dinner we had at night was 5x better.

William A.

Yelp
Great concept and service. Outstanding food. Affordable. Pick your bottle off the shelf since they are a wine shop during the day. Chefs menu only so don't be a picky eater. Only downgrade was the temp of the restaurant. Had to be 85 degrees inside and tight seating

Bryan C.

Yelp
Food was outstanding and the drinks were amazing. I wish I knew about the preset menu before coming but not too much of a complaint since I still loved what was to offer.

Drew K.

Yelp
Our dinner at Les Papilles was a top contender during our stay in Paris. The menu however changes daily and reflects seasonality and what's available fresh, so it's hard to tell you exactly what to expect. Our meal was multi-course, included a soup, main, cheese plate and then dessert. Overall, everything was excellent, well timed and an appropriate portion. They also operate as a wine shop, so you pick your wine for your meal after the server explains what's to come, and you then walk around the room looking at bottles on display, selecting what seems to be the best fit. There was a good selection, both regionally and price wise. Service was very good. They were attentive, and paced the meal at a good clip where we were never wondering where the next course was. Also, as American tourists, they assigned an English speaking waitress for us based off the reservations. (Most waiters appeared to speak English, though we did sit next to locals who were going full French.) Overall, Les Papilles is a wonderful dinner option if you're tired of the cafe experience and aren't looking to go full on Michelin fancy. The setting is unique, and the food is thoughtful and fresh, which makes the whole meal a memorable one.

Yelp
Friendly, cute, attentive & absolutely delicious! The escargots were phenomenal -still bubbling when they arrived. We shared the day's market lunch; more than enough food . Thé velouté of sweet potato was to die for. The parleron de boeuf(braised beef Chuck) was so tender you could eat it with a spoon. The cheese course was lovely & the manna cotta for dessert was superbe! Great friendly but unobtrusive service. Loved it

Bruce C.

Yelp
Great fresh food. We had the fixed price menu which included a broccoli soup that you pour over tasty croutons, bacon, fresh cream cheese and other mysterious but delicious bits of heaven. This was followed by the main, which was beef shoulder slow roasted for 4 - 6 hours, with gravy and seasonal vegetables. Then blue cheese and date soaked in a delicious wine sauce. Finally apricot panacotta that was fantastic.(missing photo of panacotta).

Yelp
OMG this was our best meal in Paris... thank you Yelpers for your strong accurate reviews. While you can order off the small menu, your best bet is to go with the chefs daily special IMHO. The three of us went with it. It was 85 F and the soup was a cold zucchini and cream soup. They bring out a bowl with a couple of croutons some fried parsley? Fried bacon pieces cubes of feta cheese and cooked zucchini. Then they brought out a soup tureen with lightly green broth which you serve in the first bowl. It was sooo good. The super creamy cold broth with a hint of curry combined with the other ingredients like magic. We didn't leave a drop of soup. We decided to splurge with foie gras. A huge portion. I decided I prefer the freshly cooked livers. The main was lamb shoulder. A huge portion at least 1/2 pound of meat and right amount of fat. It was topped with a thick semi glacé with peppers cherry tomato halves incredible onions eggplant garlic cloves and thyme. I got so full I turned down the cheese and dessert items. The cheese was a blue cheese served with baked prune. The dessert was a strawberry panna cotta. ( added only 7€ to the meal.) One of the principals picked a great chilled Beaujolais to pair with the food and given the hot temperature.

Yelp
Wow, just wow. There was a celery soup that would not quit!! The ossobucco veal was amazing (the marrow on toast a highlight), and the mango pana cotta the perfect ending to our meal. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Pure Bliss! This was my favorite restaurant in Paris; actually, it may be my favorite restaurant and dining experience of all time. Make a reservation, show up on time, maybe get lucky (like we did) and score a seat by the picture window in front of the bistro, wander around the wine shop and chose a bottle to be served with your meal, and leave the rest up to the chef. We enjoyed a price-fixe 4 course meal that was a steal for 38 Euro! The first course was a Mushroom Veloute, followed by Braised Lamb with herbs and vegetable. The 3rd course was hard Blue Cheese with Prunes followed by a Caramel Pannacota for desert. Everything we ate was fabulous and so well done. Nothing else I ate in Paris measured up to this meal. Service was warm and friendly. The staff were all pros. I highly recommend coming here! For me, it was a 7 star meal!

Yelp
Les Papilles was hands down the most incredible meal we had in Paris. We had a 930P booking on a Tuesday evening (our first night in town) and I worried terribly when we left because it was just so damn good! I had a feeling, nothing could compare to our experience here and sadly, I was right! Honestly, had I known - I would have booked myself in here every night of the week and saved myself from other experiences that were nowhere near as special as Les Papilles. The food was abundant (maybe the American in me enjoyed that part ;) but I told my boyfriend, had the servings even been cut in half the quality, taste and value of this meal far exceeds anything else we had in Paris. It was the most wonderful first evening experience we could have dreamed up! We shared tons of fresh bread, a celery soup (that seemed endless), a delish hours long braised beef with veggies (I rarely eat this much red meat and I literally could not stop myself) I wanted to soup up every last bite with bread but stopped myself, an incredible prune and blue cheese plate followed by the most amazing salted caramel panne cotta with a pear reduction (something I would have never ordered from a menu). I couldn't have come up with a better meal had my life depended on it. Service was friendly, we were sat immediately. Love their tile floor! and the entire wine bar is just the most perfect cozy warm little date spot one can imagine. Do yourself a huge favor and do not miss out on them! I'll definitely be returning, more than likely for every dinner meal on my next visit ;)

Yelp
Definitely the best meal that I had in Paris. We booked reservations about 3 weeks in advanced and I highly recommend you do it before your trip. The menu changes daily based on the foods the chef has purchased. They usually have a few options in case you arrive and something doesn't sound appealing but I doubt you would ever be disappointed. The night that we had dinner we enjoyed a homemade broccoli soup for starter, a beef roast with gravy and veggies for our main course, and a mango yogurt for dessert. All of the food was very delicious, fresh, and quality. They also have a large wine selection featuring wines from their own vineyard. The service was also excellent. Everyone was very nice, accommodating, and offered wine recommendations.

Richard L.

Yelp
The most authentic Parisian meal we've had this week. Great cuisine, wine list and service. The GM personally explained every detail of the prix fixe menu with precision. I am anything but a foodie but definitely canappreciate the craft. Must try if you're in town

Brittani S.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant based off a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Cute little spot- we walked by it when trying to spot it. Granted we are Americans who were visiting and don't quite know our area, but it is easy to miss if you are like us. We had to set up a reservation using their contact form on their website- that is a must. The owner speaks English , so that was easy. They have two kinds of menus, an a la carte and a market menu. We did the market menu- where the chef prepares whatever he/she thinks is best! It was such a treat to experience French food this way- and I'm a picky eater, but loved every moment of it. Our servers were friendly, attentive and understanding when my mom and I disappointingly couldn't finish our plates- we were so full! The Carmel Pancotta we had was unbelievable and the carrot soup was my favorite. Come hungry- they will serve you plenty. Enjoy a wine recommendation from the server and have a wonderful night in France.

Yelp
What a find! What a great restaurant! A bistro within a wine shop! Tiny, tiny, so make reservations. We never saw a menu. We let the owner order for us. Started with Leek Veloutè, followed by duck breast and assorted delicious vegetables, ending with Creme Bruleè. Our wine was a red Burgundy recommended by the owner and it was great. Fantastic spot! Don't miss it!

Yelp
#1 Advice: Make a reservation way in advance. This place gets extremely busy and we saw people get turned away. We emailed the restaurant the week we arrived and tried to make a reservation and it was all booked but given that we were celebrating our 2nd honeymoon the owner squeezed us in for the last seating at about 9:30pm. We were tired but so worth it. The owner is extremely nice and the servers were extremely attentive. You should have seen her clean the wine glasses out of the dish washer, it sparkled! This place offers a set menu only so you DO NOT get to choose your meals, they bring you the special of the day. The soup was SOOOO good, if I could have licked the pot I would have! The pot roast melted in your mouth! The dessert has you wanting more! One of my favorite things was being able to walk around the restaurant and pick any bottle of wine off the wall. I will definitely come back here when we visit Paris again!

Maoz R.

Yelp
Great coffee. The Ouef Burger was delicious as were the cookies. Service is English speaking and menu on their website.

John C.

Yelp
What a Wonderful Experience! We first heard about Les Papilles from Paris By Mouth. Their review, as well as countless positive reviews from fellow Yelpers told us it was the kind of place we like. As everyone has said, for dinner it is a fixed menu: soup, protein, cheese and desert. We started with zucchini veloute soup, followed by a fantastic beef braise, blue cheese and finally a pana cotta sort of parfait thing with a nice foam on top and a brunoise of pear. For wine the shop is the wine list. The server will have a couple of suggestions if you wish, or just dive right in to the wall of grape juice, organized by regions. We selected a nice 2010 Bonaire Ducru, a favorite of our's from Saint Julien. Not the least expensive at 137 euros but affordable, especially considering the cavist prices with a mere seven euro corkage. Typically, that bottle would be at least twice as much. They had many other choices in all price points, so I am sure we could have had something far less costly if we wanted. The atmosphere was terrific. Small but not squishy space. The other patrons were enjoyable to be around. A lot of Americans not acting like Americans for once, along with some locals, speaking within themselves and not being the show. We could carry on a conversation. Finally the service -- perfect, friendly and efficient and never hovering from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. A meal to remember and a place I am sure we will return to. Highly recommended!

Dan L.

Yelp
I love this place. The menu is always great (chef's choice, no a la carte), the staff is friendly and attentive, and the ambience is the quintessential French experience that everyone is (or should) be looking for - cozy, bustling and warm. Here's the menu from the two times I've been: Butternut squash and bacon soup Mushroom and bacon soup Beef cheek stew Braised lamb shoulder Bleu cheese (both times) Coffee panna cotta Mango panna cotta Will be coming back each time I return to Paris.

Anoush A.

Yelp
As someone who's come to Paris a few times over the years, I was looking for an authentic French experience for my friends. The price was unbelievably reasonable, I believe about 50 Euros each for four courses and 2 bottles of Wine. You don't choose the food, and they recommend a wine to pair with it from the shelves around you. Then the tiny two person kitchen brings out each serving family style. It was beyond delicious and fun for all of us. Highly recommend if you're visiting Paris! Pro Tip: you need to email for a reservation months in advance and confirm the day of!

Bill G.

Yelp
Thank you Yelp reviewers for recommending this gem! This restaurant is all about the daily prix fix chef's menu. They know exactly what they are doing and it was all delicious with lots of heart and soul in it. We appreciated the server's recommendation of a lovely, light red wine from the south of France, La Cinso, Cotes du Brian. Tonight it was their celery soup with a bit of curry poured onto bacon, croutons, deep friend parseley, sautéed celery, and chives. The main was sublime lamb shoulder braised for seven hours and then caramelized with a torch, in a lovely gravy with vegetables such as turnips and topped with a roasted garlic clove and a bit of raw onions, and graced with sprigs of thyme. Then there was a plate with goat's cheese and a dab of olive tapenade with a thin line of cayenne on the side. Dessert was a mango pane cotta. The service was friendly, knowledgable and informal. Don't try coming here without a reservation.

Yelp
My friend Mark recommended this pre fix meal Bistro restaurant in Paris beyond the farthest east side of Le Jardin du Luxembourg, and boy was he spot on right: It's fantastic hearty and hearth-y food in a nice and unpretentious environ that marries the French bistro restaurant with a stand-up wine shop. I sat at the bar under way-too-bright, hot, and blinding lights-- dial it down, Papilles, or invest in some nice mood-lighting bulbs! Really. The 4-course meal went like this: 1) Creme of celery soup you pour over goat cheese, Lardon bacon, herbs etc-- large and savory and delicious. 2) A beef cheeks bourguignon w the most tender beef cheeks in a rich red wine stew w potatoes, carrots, herbs, onions-- simply divine and hearty. Perhaps the best I've ever had. 3) Herb goat cheese w cayenne pepper etc - nice. 4) Mango panacotta - very silky and nice, not too sweet, refreshing. The cost? 38 €. A couple of nicely paired glasses of wine brought my bill to a 55 € Total-- Not cheap, but for one of my most memorable meals in Paris? Worth every penny... er, pence. Whatever-- Go. Not easy to find and you will need a reservation, so come prepared or be prepared to have to eat elsewhere.

Yelp
This was our most memorable meal in Paris. We were told that chefs come here and now we know why. Luckily got in for lunch at 1:00pm and were told that it's less busy for lunch. We did have to make reservations. We got the chef's menu. My god was it good! Lunch started with a tureen of celery soup, which easily gave my wife and I two bowls each. The the entree was a beef cooked very long in red wine (owner's description) served on a hot skillet with root vegetables. The meat was fall off the fork tender and the sauce and veggies were amazing. This was followed by some cheese and a fruity purée set off with a spicy chili. Finally, dessert was a pear based with cream. I don't recall what it was called, but it was equally great. All this goodness with wine was a measly 79.00 for 2 people. Easily the best meal and value we had in Paris. Book a table, you can thank me later.

Margaret Z.

Yelp
My friends and I agreed that this was one of the more memorable meals we've ever had. Reservations are STRONGLY recommended! The menu is fixed with limited flexibility on substitutions - so may not be best for those with restrictive diets, allergies, or overly picky eaters. It does change, but during our visit it was: - Mushroom soup with bacon and walnuts: really flavorful and came in a huge vat so each of us was able to have multiple generous servings. - Lamb shoulder: oh my goodness this was absolutely incredible. I *never* eat lamb in the states because of how gamey it can be, but this was hands down the BEST lamb I've ever eaten. If all lamb was cooked like this, I would eat it everyday. It also comes with some hearty veggies. Again, very generous portions. - Bleu cheese with dates: like the lamb, I typically cannot stand bleu cheese, but this one was so enjoyable when paired with the date paste. - Mango Panna Cotta: so smooth and refreshing, not overly sweet or heavy, and a great way to end the meal. The wine is all displayed on the walls - you basically pick out a bottle you'd like to have with your meal and pay a small uncorking fee on top of the listed price. Organized by region. We loved the set menu and came in prepared to eat with an open mind/to be outside our comfort zones. So glad we experienced the amazing culinary skill here!

Monica B.

Yelp
This place is so good. Great customer service and the food was even better. The chef was so accommodating, due to I don't eat pork he made Ahi Tuna is was delicious. From the soup to the dessert. I wanted more!! From Texas to Paris I enjoyed it this culinary delight.

Farhat K.

Yelp
What a great place! Honestly, one of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of going to. The food was freaking amazing. The pork was tender, the soup was impeccable, and the mango dessert was light and heavenly. The atmosphere was great (and absolutely packed). The server was nice, and the price is well worth the taste. I would come here again in a heartbeat.

Xasilha M.

Yelp
I love Anthony Bourdain he recommended this place LES PAPILLES.. 1st course a cold pea mint soup w bacon chives, radishes, fresh thyme w some type of cream or cheese so good Such fresh flavors and the textures of the fresh peas and crunch of the bacon, the bite of the just cut radishes Magnific !!! ... Then Roasted Lamb Ratatouille the center was so tender and fatty it fell apart the outer roasted perfectly salty crispy goodness I love the taste of sheep and goat but this wasn't overpowering not gamey at all subtle but flavorful ... .Then bleu cheese so fresh from the cow I could taste every grain of grass and nuts the cow ate came w a fig ? Not sure what the fruit was but it was perfect .. . then an amazing penacotta strawberry. The penacotta wasn't too sweet very refreshing perfectly aged strawberries great end to an amazing meal Bravo chef Merci Beaucoup

Yelp
This was one of the most memorable dinners in Paris. If you are visiting Paris, this should really be the first night dinner as its sets the stage for the entire trip. Make sure you have reservations as this small wine store/restaurant packs up pretty tight. It's always more fun in the back room as its gets loud in there but if you are looking for a quiet evening, sit up front where its less noisy. The food is the real reason to visit...hearty, organic and fresh ingredients and so damn tasty! It's a no choice menu (35 Euros per person) for 3 courses and dessert...best value for money, You can pick a nice bottle of wine and they add on 7 euros as corkage fee. We started the evening with a huge bowl of cauliflower soup. Now I had read on some of the foodie blogs and chowhound, this is a huge serving and you need not finish it as it amounts to almost 3 bowls per person. I promptly advised my foodie husband who honestly is not a fan of soups. But as he put the first spoon in his mouth, I heard him gasp....this was really one of the best things I had ever eaten. I just could not believe this was cauliflower soup. It had bits of bacon and so many more things....the best start to a spectacular dinner! My husband chose to ignore my advice and ended up finishing the entire soup bowl (yes, he had 3 huge bowls of soup!) Next came what I can only imagine would be the last dish I eat before I die. Succulent beef cheeks in a rich sauce with carrots, mushrooms and more vegetables. I was amazed at how tender the beef was...you didn't need a knife to eat it...it was breaking up with just a hint of the fork touching it.....WOW!! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/4UO8M5flLUR5-TxGdSma0Q?select=W3uthUh3QK82WuJ8k8Is8A http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/4UO8M5flLUR5-TxGdSma0Q?select=AyTeeE6vZN3aROOWxu8D9g Service was friendly and the chef came up and spoke in English. If aren't fluent in French, this is one place you feel at home. Also, even though it's a fixed menu, the chef does accommodate vegetarians or other issues. Best is to email Bertrand before and tell him that you don't eat meat or about any allergies. The woman next to us told the server she prefers fish, so the chef made an amazing tuna dish for her. I almost wanted to try it. The cheese and the desserts were incredible as well. I had one of the best coffee caramel panna cotta I have ever tasted....amazing. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/4UO8M5flLUR5-TxGdSma0Q?select=edyqRkXqTkXr1G-N75ImhQ By the end of the meal, my husband and I were so full, we decided to walk all the way back to our rented apartment at 1 am. Go here...you won't regret it!

Yelp
This was honestly my favorite meal from my trip to Paris. The restaurant is not pretentious at all and had a great vibe to it. The service was amazing and I didn't once feel like I was out of place. When I went, there was a good mix of locals and tourists, but the employees here made us feel at home and did not treat us any differently. Now onto the food, we got a lamb roast that was cooked perfectly. The meat fell off the bone. My mouth is watering just thinking about it now. The entire meal was just so well planned and so well done, I really do believe they'd make a killing if they expanded. I HIGHLY recommend Les Papilles!

Jennel N.

Yelp
YES! Come here for a coursed meal presented with love and perfection. The chef makes the food for the day and you are given what is on his menu! Everything had so much flavor. I am a vegetarian and spoke with the manager via email before we came in. Will be back! Ps: The soup was amazing!!

Kayan M.

Yelp
Dinner was top notch! Bertrand was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the perfect wine pairings to go with the courses. This was definitely a great find in Paris.

Alex C.

Yelp
My fiancé and I had dinner reservations to celebrate my birthday. This restaurant was absolutely wonderful and the food was delicious. The staff took our coats right when we walked in. I think the manager is the tall man with a shaved, he was very welcoming and he has trained the staff extremely well. It was a four course dinner with an optional wine pairing. The wine was so great we bought a bottle to take home. When we come back to Paris we're definitely coming back!

Jennie M.

Yelp
A great experience! Excellent food and wine and friendly service. Our meal consisted of a delicious broccoli soup, pork shoulder, fromage bleu, and a mango panna cotta. The pork was served with a polenta that I would have eaten much more of if I could fit it in my belly. It was so good. Choose a bottle of wine from the wall, where they are organized by region and various prices are offered. I really liked this concept and made choosing a bottle easy. The Chateauneuf-du-pape we chose was excellent. On top of it all, the restaurant is pretty and comfortable. Completely unpretentious. Can't wait to return!

Annie C.

Yelp
First things first, make a reservation! So many people kept popping in to get a table, only to get turned away because it fills up really quickly, since it's a small space. There are only a handful of tables and a small bar. We snagged a reservation through our hotel concierge. Secondly, this place is an "omakase"-style restaurant. The chef cooks and serves dishes based on the ingredients he purchased that day. So it's certainly possible that you could come here several days in a row and be served entirely different courses all those days. Thirdly, it gets hot - REALLY hot, and we were even seated by the door and windows. My husband and I had to step outside multiple times because we were sweating so much from the heat of kitchen. It was so hot, it fogged up the windows, and you couldn't even see inside from outside. There's absolutely no circulation/vents whatsoever, which also caused smoke to fill the restaurant. I can't even imagine what it's like in the warmer months when it's not cool outside. These were my main gripes because we smelled from the smoke and were drenched in our own sweat. The food was delicious. We received a soup course, main dish, cheese course, and dessert, of course. The only course I didn't care for was the cheese, since they served a Roquefort, which I'm not a fan of. I don't care for bleu cheeses in general, so it was a tad disappointing that I didn't come on a night where they served Camembert. If you want wine, you can bring your own (for a corking fee) or purchase one of the many bottles that they have here from all sorts of regions and in different price ranges. Of course, you're able to take home whatever you don't finish. My husband asked for a red wine recommendation, though I don't recall what he got. I'm not much of a wine drinker myself. Service was actually pretty good, which seems to be a rare commodity in the French restaurants we visited. Refills on water were actually done in a timely manner, and we got plenty of bread. Overall, I found it to be a pleasant experience, I just hated that we had to sit in a sauna for several hours. I would definitely return if I'm in the City of Lights again. Overall: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 1/5

Yelp
Where to begin? Well, I guess I did not do my research well before coming to this restaurant. Visiting Latin Quarter, I was looking for something casual but swanky...and of course delicious. I was thrown off guard when I found that this place gave you a bit of a fine dining experience. However, it was a pleasant surprise. It was fine dining without the pretension of having to dress up and without tiny food. The portions were huge. Particularly, the zucchini soup (way too much even for 2 ppl). The menu changes daily. So coming in, it's a surprise what you will actually be eating. I think I scored. I came on the day when they were serving lamb. AMAZING!!!!! I really wish I could have had a 2nd order as a take away. It was so delicious. AMAZING! I did not care much for the dessert...most likely because I do not like brie. We ordered a bottle of Domaine de Montcalmes Terrasses du Larzac, a syrah-mourvedre-grenache blend. It was a very nice wine. There wasn't much space between seats but the restaurant had a local feel to it. You dress casually but the restaurant is very classically designed. You need a reservation. About 3-4 weeks out.

Yelp
This was so good!! It was such a fun experience. We were able to browse the wine before our food. The service was excellent and the prices for the quality and quantity were great. The atmosphere was very nice as well. Will be back next time I'm in my favorite city!!

Yelp
This cosy bistro is very popular so you really need to make a booking or turn up early, otherwise you risk being turned away. It's a 4 course fixed "market-style" menu (€38) with no ability to make any choices. We had a beautiful carrot soup, followed by melt in your mouth slow-cooked beef with sweet baby potatoes & carrots, then blue cheese with prune & finally a velvety mango pannacotta. The wine was a little bit expensive but good. The whole meal including wine cost €111 (for 2) which is reasonably-priced by Paris standards!!

Yelp
If I had only a word to describe this place I would say it is outstanding! I have to recognize that I was not sure about the place when they told me it was a "menu fixe" restaurant but... since they place was highly recommended by some friends as well as had really good reviews, I decided to give it a change. One of the best decisions I ever made. The food was simply perfect as well as the wine they suggested to me. A place I would highly recommend and, for sure, on my list of places to go the next time I am in Paris.

Yelp
The meal is the same each evening for all guests ,, 4 courses ,, we had a delicious soup, chicken, cheese, desert ,, we gave them short notice that there were 2 in the group that did not eat meat and they made a spectacular Seared Ahi for them both !

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Les Papilles definitely lives up to all the hype I've seen about it. Off the beaten path in the Latin quarter. This cozy bistro serves up delicious mouth watering seasonal pre fixe meals with superb service. Make sure to reserve a table weeks in advanced and if you need a wine pairing recommendation for dinner don't be afraid to ask.

Yelp
It was first experience eating authentic French food. It was delicious. I started with zucchini soup with crispy croutons. Followed by slow cooked beef stew, a cheese course, and desert of caramel pan-cotta. Best pan-cotta I have had. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Had dinner here on our first night in Paris on a friend's recommendation. This place was absolutely incredible and set the bar high for our French vacation dining! Began with a mushroom soup, then enjoyed an incredibly tender shoulder of lamb paired with fresh snap peas, carrots and baby potatoes. Enjoyed a locally sourced blue cheese for our fromage course, and a delicate custard delight for dessert. Of course the wine offered at this restaurant really added to the experience, enjoyed an amazing bottle of Chattenoef de Pape initially and then, on server Fraennie's recommendation a bottle of Cote Rotie which was delightful as well. Wonderful experience, would recommend to any loved one, friend or respected colleague.

Yelp
35€ prix fixe menu. 4 courses. 1. Sweet potato soup- great. Many layers of flavor. 2. Lamb shoulder- moist, "fall off the bone", delicious 3. Cheese or Salad- we had so much cheese the day before, we opted for a simple salad 4. Panna cotta- very good, but not memorable Excellent meal for the price point in Paris
