The only positive for this hotel is that it was close to the city center. Our room was on the 3rd floor. There was no elevator so the daily climb back and forth to our room was difficult. Because our room was on the top floor, it was very hot. We had in room air conditioning but even when the temperature was lowered to its minimum, it could not cool the room sufficiently. The room was extremely small with hardly no room to move around with luggage in the room. The bathroom was also tiny and the shower was a very small cubicle. If you dropped your soap you would not be able to pick it up. There were no wash cloths. Only hand towels and bath towels. The bed was somewhat uncomfortable. The hotel did not have a lounge our garden area. You either had to spend time in your room or find somewhere in the city to spend your idle time. I would recommend the anyone looking at this hotel consider other options.

Loved staying here! Laurena and the staff were very nice, and the location is excellent for walking the Mazarin Quarter and the old city. The building has the charm and funkiness you’d expect from something constructed in the late 1600s.||Use the Parking Mignet garage nearby. Parking Carnot is old, cramped, and further away.

Forget the small size of the rooms--they are what they are. Everything else is excellent: a warm and very helpful staff, a central location, impeccable cleanliness and appointments, and a calm street and inside ambience.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel les Quatre Dauphins ('The Four Dolphins') in September 2024. The hotel is in the old town district about an 8 minute walk from the train station (Aix en Provence SNCF). The area was quiet and safe, and it was only a short walk to many local sights and the main street (Mirabeau) for cafes, bars, and shopping. I believe that we were in room 41 (recommended). Would also recommend that you take the optional morning breakfast in the sitting room adjacent to the lobby. The staff were exceptional. Friendly and polite, and lucky for us, there was no problem assisting us in English. A great stay. We we would certainly go back.

We were 3 mature rugby World Cup supporters staying in Aix-en-Provence to watch the Wales match in Marseilles. |We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and it is in a great location for staying in the centre of Aix-en-Provence. Cafés, shops, and restaurants all within walking distance. The rooms are small but comfortable and are kept very clean. There is no lift, so keep that in mind if you have trouble climbing stairs. The manager and staff were very welcoming from the moment we arrived all the way through check out. The desk is manned 24/7 and the doors are kept locked to only allow hotel guests to enter which made it feel quite secure. |

This place is old style, with no elevator, so be careful to get a lower floor if you are if a certain age or have health constraints. We were in the second floor, and carrying luggage that far was almost fatal! Apart from that everything else was great.|First of all, the hotel is well situated in the small streets close to the centre of town. Everything is within easy reach. The rooms are small, just like a Parisian hotel, but we didn’t spend much time in the room apart from sleeping - so it was fine. The room was quiet, with the windows closed and aircon on. The bathroom was small, but adequate.|We didn’t take breakfast, because we walked into the town centre every morning to sit in the open air watching people come and go, as they do. But breakfast is available on the ground floor for a modest charge. Order before 8.30pm for the following morning.|Service was good and friendly, and we’d have no trouble recommending this hotel, especially for anyone travelling on a budget.

Terrible hotel. Terrible customer service service. Do not stay here. They are very rude and will not do anything to help you out, especially if they can’t make extra money. I sincerely despise this place and recommend you look elsewhere for a more welcoming cleaner hotel. There are so many in Aix.

We returned to this charming old place after staying there with family some years back. We love the elegant Quartier Mazarin and the short walk over to the Cours Mirabeau, passages to the marchés and feeling part of the beautiful city.|It is an old building, without elevators and we asked for a first floor room. Room was small and somewhat awkward in configuration, with narrow entry corridor, furniture jammed in and a tiny shower stall, etc. Quiet enough and bed was comfortable. We were told that new owners plan to renovate and reconfigure by making larger rooms out of two tiny ones in certain places. Good idea! |The lovely breakfast room was quite pleasant and offered a nice choice of Continental breakfast components, including a made-to -order soft-boiled egg. Staff were charming and extremely helpful with recommendations of places to eat in the neighborhood, etc. No hotel parking but we lucked out with a municipal paid parking spot just one block away that cost about € 12 for a day/overnight. An antique spot that is comfortable enough for a couple of nights, and enjoyable for walking up to nearby Granet Museum and St. Jean de Malte Templar church. And the joyful Quatre Dauphins fountain to welcome us home.
