Les Suites Orient, Bund Shanghai (Shanghai, China) 9 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"To read it from the newspapers over the last few years you’d think Beijing was unequivocally the capital of the Chinese building boom. But on the Bund in Shanghai, architectural expression has long been the order of the day. It’s here that Les Suites, in their first expansion from Taiwan to the mainland, has set up shop, constructing a brand-new 23-story Art Deco tower as the setting for their latest hotel, Les Suites Orient Bund Shanghai." - Tablet Hotels

I loved this hotel! Excellent location right on the Bund, very accommodating staff, and beautiful interiors! My room (703) had an incredible view, and both the room and bathroom were very spacious and well-appointed. I didn't want to leave! LOL. My only comment would be that I wish there was a way to make the room lights a little brighter. ||||The whole hotel is full of lovely little picturesque details. I only regret we didn't have more time to take photos inside the hotel. We unfortunately missed the complimentary cocktail at the lounge, but the breakfast buffet the next morning was great. ||||The front desk staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, as was Mark Wang, who helped us get sorted out with nags and communicating with out driver for our trip to the airport. I would definitely stay here again (same room!) and recommend Les Suites to anyone else heading over to Shanghai,

Amazing views, great location, and extremely clean. If you want to stay at a luxurious hotel in Shanghai this is the one. I was very skeptical but the view I got was the best! I stayed in a suite with river view, I got three windows. There is also a bathtub, dimmers, a heated toilet and nice accessories. However, staff needs more work BUT I totally get it because of the language barrier. You will always find someone that speaks English but do not expect to get a full on English conversation. Breakfast was good and the best part is that I got a 9 am check in. Ask for a map or you will not get one. No cocktails for in room dining.

Great location right by the Bund with incredible views. The complimentary happy hour cocktail was very welcoming. The room was modern with plush mattress guaranteed a good night of sleep. The breakfast buffet featured omelette made to order, both western and eastern grubs. The fresh local fruits were the best and the cappuccino machine was not shabby either. A perfect place to stay in Shanghai.

We stayed at Les Suites on the last day of our week long trip in Shanghai and we all regretted not booking this hotel for a longer period of time. We booked a studio room for ourselves (which was also good) and a suite with view of the river for my parents, of which they were very impressed and made note of the room number to request again when they return to Shanghai next time! :) |The location was excellent to view the nighlights, as well as a walking distance from the main shopping area and some great restaurants nearby. The rooms were both spacious and clean, and very comfortable. We will definitely be returning to this hotel when we next visit.

To sum it up, it was ok. I've stayed in better 5 star hotels and I and in worse ones as well at the same price. We stayed in a Studio room and the rooms were quite cramped, especially if you have two big suitcases. We had to keep one on the sofa most of the time due to limited space. The view from our bathroom was amazing and was quite special to see every time we took a shower. There were a lot amenities in the room, but I did notice that some of the use of technology wasn't needed or wasn't programmed correctly. For example, there was a large remote next to the bed which controlled everything from the lighting, blinds and air conditioning, to the TV and radio. But a lot of the buttons weren't programmed correctly and sometimes turned off the lights when you wanted to lower the temperature! Although breakfast was included in our room rate, we never made it down in time so can't comment on that. But we did get to make use of their happy hour, where between certain hours of the evening, the game out complimentary drinks which was nice. All in all, a well located hotel on the Bund, slightly let down by cramped rooms, and outdated decor/technology.

First time in Shanghai. Splurged and booked a room with view of Pudong, Huangpu River and The Bund. Amazing room and views. Staff is super professional and helpful. Breakfast spread is unrivaled! Location is excellent - get your day going or evening winding down with a walk on The Bund. About 10 minute walk to Yu Yuan Gardens. About 10 minute walk to Nanjing Road. Both of those places are great to visit, but you can also catch the metro there. We spent many minutes gazing at sites - you see the entire colonial Bund in one eye and the modern Pudong in the other. Only thing missing: a hotel bar (that's right: we want cocktails and we want them now!). Have to wander up The Bund to other hotels to find a bar for happy hour. Anyway, would stay again!

As the hotel is situated at The Bund, so it was a lovely view when you get out and it was amazing to watch the light turn on in the evening at the lounge. You get a free tea/coffee and some snacks at the lounge and 1 drink free during happy hours which was amazing. In addition to this, we booked this property for our Anniversary, so the hotel complimented us with a free cake on the night in our room and it was amazing.

The hotel itself has a lot of stories, rooms are clean and quite uniquely there’s orchestra playing as I enter the room. Quite a special experience. The location is unbeatable in Shanghai city. Service is to the point but I wish they took more pride in working in their property, lacking a sense of pride..
