On the Grid : Les Trois 8

"Sick of sad and tasteless beverages? Welcome to this little bar! You can try a lot of craft beers (8 draft beers and a hundred bottles) and natural wine in a low-lighting, friendly and rollicking atmosphere. The charcuterie and cheese boards are good and generous. Insiders will surely appreciate the specialized and curious decoration where every detail counts!" - Hyphen

They have a nice selection of bottles and great beers on tap. The place is small so plan ahead if you want to nab a seat. Price is higher than a cafe because the beer is better. But not bad considering the cost in the USA. Worth a try!

It's unfortunate to go to an establishment that borrows from your hometown's beer culture (you're welcome), only to be met with rude, unfriendly service. While the music and general vibe of the place is pretty great, we really couldn't get past the hostility with which we were met by the bartender. He seemed genuinely irritated with our few questions about their tap selection, and treated us as though we were unwelcome. Would loved to have had a better experience, as I do respect what this place is trying to do, and the beer is quite good. Bummer.

This place is great if you like craft beer, really impressive for Paris. The charcuterie board was also really good and cheap. Probably the best bathroom art I’ve ever experienced too! Will definitely go back next time I’m in Paris.

This place is a hidden gem. It'd hidden away off of a main street, but that makes for a cooler experience in my opinion. The decore is funky but in a fun way. The music being played maybe a little deturing, but don't let it turn you away! The bar tender was friendly and made some good suggestions. The beer ... It was amazing. It has changing taps all the time (changed twice during the ~2 hours we were there. If your in the mood for a nice cold beer and don't want to the regular Heiniken being sold on the street, stop by this place for a break.

Google
Large choice of artisanal draft beer, and a standard aesthetic for a pub. Funny toilet. The staff was really nice. I love how it is situated in a small calm street next to a very busy neighborhood.

Google
Great little craft bar in the 11th with some interesting taps. Tiny, cozy, eclectic. Beer list is on point, bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke English. Check out the bathroom 😳😳 it's a little crazy.

Google
Definitely one of the best craft beer bars in Paris. Great rotating selection and nice bottle list. Small and gets packed so come early.

Google
Great little Parisian bar with love and attention oozing all over, including the carefully selected beer menu (awesome choices), wines and charcuterie and cheese plates. Very nice vibe, friendly and not pressured.

Yelp
Okay, I would hardly call myself an expert on hipster bars, but this place certainly comes close to the title, at least in my opinion. Then again it is located in what appears to be Paris' hipster community, or at least the bohemian districts of the early 21st century. There probably isn't a huge about to say about this bar other than it is small, cosy, and has some pretty cool decorations on the wall. There wasn't a huge selection of beer on tap, but what they did have available was certainly satisfying. The bartender was also pretty cool. In a way it is one of those nice and quiet hole in the wall bars, hidden in the Parisian back streets, and is a nice place to simply spend some time, and it is pretty quiet as well (though that may have something to do with when I was there).

Yelp
If you're in Paris on a Wednesday night, and you love craft beer, COME HERE! Wednesday evenings (I think from 6 - 8 PM, but you'd want to double check) are "Hoppy Hour," when for 20 euro you get 4 oz (12.5 cL) pours of all 8 craft beers they have on tap, as well as a 4 oz pour of another craft beer from a bottle. They give you the beers with a paper menu with spaces to take notes, which is really cool. Most of the beers were local French beers, though there was one from Dieu du Ciel!, a Montreal brewery that happens to be one of my favorites. (I believe there was some Quebecois cultural festival going on, which might explain why they had Canadian beers.) Our favorites were: - Ribouldingue: a light, refreshing, pleasant and easy drinking wheat ale. - Inauguration IPAIPA: not a typo; it's a double IPA. Very full bodied and bitter, but not too intense. - the Dieu Du Ciel! beer (Aphrodisiac) We arrived on the earlier side and were able to get a table; it's not a huge space, so it might get crowded. They're friendly to English speakers, too. Cheers!

Yelp
Les Trois 8, you saved Paris for me! Was in Paris on short holiday before we jetted off to Madrid. To be honest both my husband & we're not really liking Paris. We booked our vacation Far in advance & were unaware that we would run into labor strikes & the Euro Cup! Paris was on high security alert & just made us uneasy. I mainly came to Paris to pay my respects to Jim Morrison. Luckily we stayed in the 11th arrondissement so we were far enough from the chaos of the super touristy crap. Needless to say we were counting down the minutes until our Madrid flight. Then I yelped & found Les Trois 8... It was everything I love. Punk rock, good beer, yummy food & awesome people. It was just like being home in our local LA dive bars. I really cannot say enough about this place, except don't change! Come, buy lots of beer, buy a shirt & a charcuterie plate & just enjoy the good music & company.

Yelp
I came here for a birthday party the other night and had an awesome time. The staff here are super friendly and the concept is great. This is a serious beer bar and there a chalkboard that changes regularly featuring craft beer from around the world with the alcohol content and price per pint or demi listed alongside. I'm not a beer person per se, but the rose hibiscus blanche was fabulous. As was the dry sparkling white wine (served only by the bottle) that a very generous Jarvis Cocker (among the birthday attendees that night) was passing around :) Definitely a nice alternative to the loud, anonymous bars around Menilmontant that serve super mediocre beer and wine. The place is small, but it's festive, especially on a lovely night when the crowd spills out onto the sidewalk.

Yelp
Of all the things I miss about living in Paris, this bar is at the top of my list. If you're a beer lover, great, they always have a fresh selection of international beers on tap as well as an extensive bottle collection. If you're a wine/liquor lover, great, be sure to try one of the many flavors of digestif they have. If you like to eat, great, there's no way you can pass up a cheese or meat (or both!) planche with fresh bread, or maybe a tapenade, or maybe just a bunch of pickles. Great bar for locals and tourists alike, full of warm vibes and lovely people. It was a home away from home for a long time, and I can't wait to return someday.

Yelp
By a longshot my favorite place in Paris. I love Les Trois 8 because it's different than the typical bar opening around Paris with the same déco and over priced drinks and over priced bottled beer. Bref....... it's just awesome and in a neighborhood that I particularly like. Les Trois 8 serves organic wine and artisanal beer at super affordable prices (beers in bottles and large selection on tap). The beer menu changes weekly (totally dig their big chalk board) which makes it a great place to discover new craft breweries around France and Europe. As you'll need a snack with your beer tasting flights, I must say their planches are the bomb (even for vegetarians and vegans they've got you covered!). It's sort of an underground feel, grungy in the positive sense. It's dark with brick walls with vintage trinkets left and right. Simple tables and chairs make for a cozy setting to enjoy a pint or five. Check out the artwork in the bathroom for a good giggle. Whenever I go I find myself trying at least 4-5 of the beers on tap, they've always got something for everyone. As a complete sidenote, I love that they serve the taps with the glasses of each brewery. It's the little things that make this place special. Staff is friendly as ever and the music is always great. A true gem.

Yelp
Came here for the night of a Mont Salève tap takeover. It was a very happening scene. The street outside the bar was packed with lots of hipsters. Despite the crowd, service was fast and the atmosphere was cool. Many consider this to be one of the top two beer bars in Paris (the other being La Fine Mousse). Their logo is really badass!

Yelp
We r from Colorado, where craft brewing is a part of everyday life, so we were beyond delighted to find such a fantastic space with beautifully crafted beer. The service was relaxed, kind, and knowledgable. I had a black ipa called antisocíale from sainte cru that was a delicious balance of hops and dark malts, perfect on a rainy night in early November.

Yelp
The place to be for craft beer lovers and/or aspiring craft beer lovers! Check this place out on a Wednesday night if you can - but get here early! They have an awesome special where for 20€ you get a beer flight of 9 craft beers! It's a actually a steal for that price, as each beer sampler is 12.5 cl. They always have 8 craft beers (often local beers) on tap which rotate, as well as a selection of bottled beers. The crowd is pretty eclectic and a cool mix of people. Staff are friendly and well knowledgeable and are always up for a chat about beer and can point you in the right direction. They also have food (plates of charcuterie, cheese, etc). This place is SMALL so get here early if you wanna sit!! Kinda secluded too, on a small street. There's an awesome Vietnamese place nearby if you wanna grab that before or after. Back to the Wednesday night beer sampler. They give you an information sheet where you can rate the beers you've tasted, and rank them (and eventually go rate them on ratemybeer.com if you so desire). It's a nice souvenir and helps you remember what you drank! You get to try all the 8 beers on tap plus a selected bottled beer. If you choose to do the beer flight on Wednesday night, just be careful cuz you may be hungover at work on Thursday if you're old like me! But it's all worth it. ;) or just come for a drink anytime and savor that delicious beer. Yum.

Yelp
Awesome spot!! Super fun, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and clientele (English spoken), lots of great craft beer much of it local, natural wines, and amazing food options. Wish I lived closer, but it's a good thing I don't because I would spend way too much time and money here. We tried a bunch of the craft brews on tap before settling with home, a great American pale ale brewed in france. Don't remember if it was Parisian or not. Got a cheese sandwich because I saw the bartender cutting huge pieces off a wheel, and ended up ordering the charcuterie as well after seeing him shaving the meat off fresh. It was amazing! Didn't try any natural wines but I might next time - the beer is just so tempting especially since craft is somewhat rare in paris! Bathroom is a fun surprise. We made friends with a dog and the table next to us, and the bartender gave us a free shot.

Yelp
Some Parisians asked how found this place when we walked in. "It's so local" they exclaimed, surprised and impressed we ventured off the beaten path to this small sanctuary of great beer and company. "It's the beer we said!" Excited they cheered us with glasses of wine and invited us to join their table. Apparently all the wine is hip here too, as it's all been grown and processed organically and with love. The bar tender plays great music and even on a Monday night there's is great people watching with the steady ebb and flow of loyal patrons coming and going. If you are an out-of-towner, be sure you have a map or a local to help navigate back to your digs or you may get lost at 2:00am the way I did. Whoopsie.

Yelp
It's a good thing that Paris has beer bars. This is a nice spot with some a good social crowd. Delicious beers. Ask the staff, as usual. Little spot, but quite nice. It's about the people as well. Enjoyed my visit.

Yelp
Very nice place. Guys are cool and can help you on your choice among the 8 tap beers they propose. Only little traditional breweries. They have nice food board. A surprise is also bidding in the restroom. Go and have a look

Yelp
This is a nice small beer bar in Paris, with two bartenders who care about what they do and are super friendly (and seem to know a good deal about beer and are well traveled in the beer world. The selection has plenty of tasty French brews, provided at reasonable prices. Great ambiance, and adequate seating for the demand is available here. The cheap baguette and terrine (there are many different cans of terrine available, including some less than traditional options) available is a huge plus (it was basically dinner for the both of us). Super cool place. If I return to Paris, I will return here.
