I had worked a long day in my hotel room on a Friday and had cabin fever. Unfortunately, it was late, and I needed a restaurant that was still serving, but I wasn't up for a noisy bar. I tried Les Trois Garcons because it had received good reviews from fellow Yelpers and was only 500m from my hotel.
Everything was pleasant about the experience with the exception that the "outside" deck (heated and glassed in) allows smoking (apparently how all Paris restaurants deal with the indoor smoking ban law), and EVERYONE was smoking. As this is Paris, a few people bring their (actually very well-behaved) dogs along to dine.
Julien, my waiter, spoke very good English (which was good because I was too tired to soldier through with my non-existent French), and because the kitchen was closing soon, apologetically urged me to order my starter and main courses together. The fried eggplant and mozzarella starter was delicious, and the steak and liver in a mushroom sauce with (masses of) pommes frites was delicious. Julien apologized that he didn't have any expensive red wines on the list, but, this being France, I could have picked any wine on the carte and taken my taste buds to heaven. The Crème Brûlée was good but not especially memorable.
Overall, the price, quality, quantity, and hospitality will keep this restaurant on my list the next time I visit the 15th arrondissement.
