We rented four “non-electric” bicycles to pick up in the city of Blois, and one more that we collected in Amboise.
The part of contacting the shop and renting the bicycles went smoothly. There were no communication problems, everything was correct, and the price was good.
We completed the process through their website, and it was very easy.
The possibility of picking up the bicycles at one point and dropping them off at another is a very good service.
In our case, we collected three of them in Blois and one more in Amboise to returned them in Tours.
When we picked up the bicycles, we didn’t have time to check them together with the shop assistant, as there were quite a few people at that moment and he was very busy. We looked them over briefly ourselves and set off.
As the kilometers went by, we realized that the bicycles were not very well adjusted and we had some issues with the gear shifting. Luckily, we were able to sort it out by ourselves.
I have to say that the bicycles were a bit old and not very well maintained… they would definitely benefit from some improvement in that respect.
On the other hand, I believe the price was very competitive.
One point to improve was the collection of the fourth bicycle in the town of Amboise. In this case, we had to pick it up at a hotel, since there was no shop available. This was not a problem in principle, but the hotel reception staff who were supposed to assist us simply sent us to a garage next to the hotel to take whichever one we wanted. I didn’t find that to be the best way of handling it. On top of that, we had to take care of inflating the tires ourselves, etc. In other words, the bicycle was reserved but not prepared.
Overall, the experience was good with some positive points, but also others that could be improved.
In general, I would recommend renting from this shop.
But I would encourage the shop managers to take our comments into account.
