wonderful restaurant on the slopes. The food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was fantastic. However, the service was quite slow—we waited an hour for our main dishes and over 20 minutes for dessert. Despite the delays, the overall experience was excellent, and we will definitely return! Does this work for you?

We truly enjoyed every dish we had here, each one was a delight on its own. Finding such a gem in the middle of the ski slopes was fantastic. While staying in Chamonix, I might not return to Les Houches just for skiing, but I would definitely come back here for another great meal!

Such a fantastic experience at Les Vielles Luges. We had booked for a mother-son hiking trip and she had a tumble a little further up the mountain. The staff at the restaurant were so quick and kind to help when we arrived, so big thanks to the team. Can't thank the staff enough for the assistance that day. Lunch was lovely - the smoked chicken supreme was delicious, topped off with a great atmosphere in the garden, with views overlooking the Chamonix valley and up towards the Mont Blanc. Recommend this place to anyone in the area and it certainly stands as one of the best meals and restaurant experiences I've had to date!

Best restaurant on the slopes. Great recipes, authentic decorations and environment. The butternut tarte tatin is a must.

The place is absolutely amazing. I have been working here as a ski instructor for 3 years and it is the best food I had in the valley. The only thing is that you need a reservation. I highly recommend this place.

What a fantastic place! We booked for lunch and arrived after a mornings skiing with a warm welcome from the host. The atmosphere is wonderful, log fire burning and beautiful alpine setting. The food was delicious and with two vegetarians in our party it was a welcome surprise to have some lovely options. The food is perfection, we will be back!

We agree with everybody here. We came to Chamonix on our bucket list Europe tour in 2007.-2008. Went to the Kandahar race at Les Houches and while skiing and snowboarding, took an out of the way lift which went right over the top of this plane. Saw people eating outside on that sunny day and then tried to find the hidden barely marked path to ski in. Not for the squeemish. You need to be a good skier and s better snowboarder to ski in, otherwise walk it. The trail is narrow, fast and perilous… and so worth it!!! This became our favorite haunt the entire time we were there. We came back a couple times since, staying in Chamonix for 6 weeks. We spent most days at Les Houches skiing Le Verte, the Kandahar Coupe Du Monde course all day, and would eat here for lunch religiously. As others have said, this is the best place in the area, which is saying a LOT, because Chamonix is FULL of fantastic restaurants. We love many, and we live Skiing and riding all the resorts, but Le Verte is a top to bottom high speed run and this place is the ultimate icing on the cake. Or, maybe this is the main attraction and skiing Le Verte is the icing? Who cares!!!! It makes for an amazing day every day! One of our absolute lifetime experiences. Repeatedly! Can’t wait to get back!

Wow, fantastic hidden gem. After a little walk through the woods off the side of the piste (would be a short ski if snow conditions good), we found Les Vieilles Luges. Charming, with outdoor terrace seating plus cosy indoor space for those miserable days. Lovely staff and the best food we had on or off the mountain. Delicious, innovative and not just a cheese & meat fest. Highly recommended.
