L'Esprit du 8

A beautiful, stylish, clean, comfortable, and perfect place to stay. The house and gardens are so beautiful. It’s in a great location and yet very quiet. We slept very well. The hosts were friendly and very helpful, and the breakfast was superb, especially the home made chocolate cake. We loved our stay here very much, and are so sad to leave. Louise and Paul.

L’Esprit du 8 was an ideal and most pleasant stay for me for two nights on my cycling tour - conveniently enabling me to explore Rochefort-sur-Mer. The owners - Sandrine and Pascal - are superlatively welcoming, helpful, friendly and very professional. My chosen en suite room - ‘Florence Knoll Room’ was beautiful, most comfortable and spotlessly clean. The lovely garden is so peaceful. Breakfast was superb. I would love to return to l’Esprit du 8. Thank you.

My wife and I stayed for several nights in September and really enjoyed our stay. Fabulous home with real character in a great location. Pascal and Sandrine were very welcoming and friendly, with recommendations for dinner and places to visit that proved spot-on. Would thoroughly recommend,

Very beautiful property conveniently situated at walking distance of the main attractions in Rochefort yet very peaceful. Great garden and swimming pool. Very comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast all of this with the charming owners giving the best advices on things to do and places to eat in the area.|Highly recommended, I will definitely go back and bring friends and family!

Sandrine and Pascal are ideal hosts. We’ve stayed many times at their lovely hotel. It’s unique. The rooms are beautiful, yet comfortable. Their love of design comes through in their care for their building and the furnishings of each room. We’ve stayed in each—they all have something to offer. I cannot recommend L’Esprit du Huit highly enough. It’s worth visiting Rochefort just to stay there.

Wonderful attentive hosts, beautiful rooms and the most comfortable bed ever, central to the shops/restaurants and Port. There was a lovely pool to relax by, weather permitting. Breakfast was exceptional and a good choice of hot or cold food. Great coffee too!

What a fabulous place to stay. The proprietor’s, Pascal and Sandrine are most welcoming, warm, and generous hosts. Their home has quite a history yet is furnished in a contemporary design led manner, it’s wonderful and even has a swimming pool in the garden which guests can use, along with private parking to give added value as street parking is chargeable. Le petit-dejeuner (breakfasts) are quite the treat, and in addition to the apple juice, fresh fruit/bread/croissants/yogurt/ham and cheeses, etc. Sandrine freshly cooks something different each morning; french toast, waffles, etc. all with copious amounts of coffee /tea.||Rochefort is lovely with a naval background and has some fantastic restaurants which Pascal and Sandrine can advise upon, all just a short walk away from Espirit du 8 which is ideally situated just off the historic city centre. Saturday sees a very busy market in the historic city centre.||We loved all of it.
