Good first impression, simple but OK breakfast Rooms were nasty, see picture for just one example. After notifying the manager no excuse was made nor a gesture/compensation for the inconvenience was offered. Because of this reaction I write this review.

We went to L‘Esprit Sain for a cycling weekend and got a room on the first floor of the second house of the hotel. There is a kiosk right next to it. In the night it’s getting loud, because people are meeting there. The breakfast is good but only basic. After the first night there was no cleaning service in our little apartment room. We took our really clean roadbikes into the room because it was big enough. At the check-out they charged fees for the bicycles in the amount of 40€ for two nights. The reason for that: “They have to clean more.” Sorry, but this is ridiculous. My shoes got more points of contact with the ground than my tires.

We stayed here for the Belgium Grand Prix. The circuit is very close by, yet the town is quiet and beautiful.||The hotel room was basic, but clean and comfortable. Take earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Traffic noise can be an issue, although we found the double glazing very effective.||The owners were so kind and helpful. They even ran a free shuttle to get you to nearby the circuit that we didn’t expect. Very attentive, friendly and helpful.||The food! Was DELICIOUS! We ate at the restaurant every night, something I would never normally do. We had lovely Steak, gorgeous duck breast, blue cheese and pear salad, salmon pasta, lasagne, and a large meatballs dinner (over the course of the stay!). It was all fantastic and reasonably priced. Favourite was the steak, then then duck salad in close second.||I shouldn’t broadcast this gem, but if I was to go to the Grand Prix again, I’ll definitely be booking in here!! Shhh

This is a perfect place to spend a romantic evening on a long road trip to Rotterdam. It is located on the main road through Malmedy and it is a breeze to find parking.||Book ahead and ask for room 32- a fabulous suite more than a room and blissfully quiet. It features a typical European bed which is really two twins pushed together but the mattresses are firm and comfortable for a great night's sleep. There is a sitting/living room off the bedroom with a flat screen tv- a nice feature so that if one of you is tired the other can watch whatever without being a disturbance. There is a water closet and then hallway leading to the shower with more than ample closet space for a family of four. The shower itself is big enough for two and very modern and well appointed by American as well as European standards. The bath towels could use an up-grade as one of ours had a hole in it.||Breakfast is included and is the typical bread-based meal with a few cheeses and some yogurt and juice as well as jams and butter. Tea and coffee and ham were provided but there is a nice||bakery across the street that opens early.||It is worth staying in for dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel as food is very well prepared and presented and prices are very reasonable. My husband enjoyed the trout cooked in butter and herbs and it was a nice sized fish served whole. My salad with smoked duck, pears,||walnuts and blue cheese was excellent as well. Overall this is a great value and very convenient to have so many good things in one location.||Also worth mentioning is the local black beer brewed right in town.

We stayed here for the 2022 F1 Grand Prix in Spa. Vincent and his crew were wonderful. The room, restaurant and the shuttle service were all top-notch. Vincent knows all the secret/private ways to the track so it only took 10 mins get there and back. Thank you and we will definitely be back.

What a fantastic place.|We stayed here for 4 nights during the BELGIUM GRAND PRIX which was a surprise for my husbands birthday.|I booked the suite with a small courtyard garden which was so peaceful. The room was lovely with tall ceilings, huge character and was very clean.|We had a fridge which was great to chill our own drinks and large TV with a selection of channels.|The breakfast was only a selection of cereals, croissants etc but most of the mornings Nadine would offer to cook us a fresh omelette (not sure this is done for everyone) which was very kind and much needed, especially as we had a long day ahead over at the circuit.|Vincent always did the shuttle runs to the circuit and accommodated everyone’s timescale so well. It was like having your own personal driver for 4 days, plus he knew all the back routes avoiding most of the traffic going to and returning from the Grand Prix.|The hotel is located perfectly because there are shops and other restaurants just on your doorstep so it is well worth going for a 10 minute walk just to see the beautiful town.|We had a meal at the hotel too, one evening which was amazing and again we would highly recommend...|Lastly I just want to say a huge thank you to |Nadine & Vincent, who made our stay so perfect, we even had a complimentary bottle of champagne left in our room to say |Happy Birthday with a card for my husband just to make him feel extra special.|All in all we will be going back at some point in the future and would strongly recommend this hotel & restaurant...||

The L'Esprit Sain hotel in Malmedy is ideally located in the centre of town and is only a couple of minutes walk to the shops and bars. It is a very well run boutique hotel and has it's own restaurant on the ground floor, which is also open to non-guests. If you want to eat hear in the evening, then I advise you to reserve a table to avoid disappointments. The restaurant is also used for serving the breakfast each morning, which was fairly simple but very fresh and certainly adequate.||||We found the whole hotel exceptionally clean and tidy and the staff were very welcoming and polite. Our particualr room was a (very) large deluxe twin room which was well decorated and had a very comfortable bed in it and a large bathroom.||||Although the centre of town can be a little busy with traffic during the daytime, it is much quieter in the evening and we certainly didn't hear any traffic noise in our room at night.||||There is no private car parking available at the hotel, only paid parking in the streets around the hotel. There is however no charge for parking in the streets during the night. If you don't want to pay anything for parking and are prepared to walk for about 5 minutes, then you can find free parking just outside of the town centre limits in the more residential areas.||||Everything about this hotel was good and I would certainly recommend staying here if you are looking for a hotel in the Malmedy area. We would definately stay again.

Spent two nights here. Was very pleased with the hotel itself with regards to the personell, the location, the cleanliness, the restaurant.||The rooms are spacious, even the double bed room had a small hall enough for 4 to play board games during the night. The bathroom also quite big, well and newly renovated just as the whole hotel.||Breakfast was simple but very abundant, we were pleased with it.||The personell was very attentive and nice to us.||||The only negative sides were:||1.||the sound isolation or more the lack of it. It is understandable since the building is quite old but modernised so only this noise of the pipes (flushing water in the neighbours) is annoying.||||2.||the bed is modern but VERY soft. My wife had serious pain in the back both nights.||||All in all: Recommended.
