Google
A a really good friendly little restaurant along a busy street so it's perfect to watch the world go by. Great atmosphere. The food was lovely and very generous portions. The staff were all excellent. We are English and we did try to communicate in French but when we couldn't manage it the staff all spoke good English and were happy to help us out! Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Came here for dessert after a disappointing dinner elsewhere, and kinda splurged because we barely ate… but it was SO worth it!! - Ice cream: delicious homemade peach sauce / garnish on top of great vanilla ice cream. Our favorite - Crepes: not a traditional crepe, but great nonetheless. they make it right in front of you on a little skillet which is fun. tastes very strongly of grand mariner so make sure you’re good with the alcohol - Crème Brûlée: solid but didn’t compare to the others

Fondu is the best! The services are nice too, we had a great meal. It was my mom’s first time trying snail, she likes it 😁. We had shared snails, fondue for two people, fish and scallops and dessert. Will definitely come back🥰.

The tartar was very good, Dessert had no identity, like Macaron with lemon sorbet, sweet cream and Chocolate sauce! But the cannelloni was horrible, not tasty and half hot half cold! I called the water they reheated it and burnt the basil on the top!

Cozy atmosphere, fast delivered drinks, and kind stuff. Definitely worth it

Google
Slightly overrated place - we had their signature steak which was tough to chew and the spaghetti veal chop tasted tad sour (but was told it’s due to the Parmesan cheese which doesn’t really make sense).

Yelp
Came on a weeknight with a reservation and there was seating available. Service was not that attentive and we had to chase down the server. We sat upstairs with others. 1. Escargot - A bit salty but still had flavor 2. Pate - Small pieces which were not bad 3. Steak - Pet peeve of getting sauce poured all over to the point where we cannot tell if it was medium as we ordered. Either way, too much sauce. 4. Scallops - Good portion and good taste Overall, probably would have chosen another restaurant knowing what we know now. Also had an odd smell through the restaurant (not the cheese).

Yelp
Boiled chicken with feathers on...,,,,,no thank you, the fondue looked good but I don't like fondue Rude server took the chicken away and plucked the feathers. Stay away from this place

Yelp
This cozy bistro exuded charm and intimacy. I visited with a group of colleagues, and they were able to accommodate our large party. It seemed that the staff may not be fluent in English. Our table opted for the raclette, and it was truly delightful! I wholeheartedly suggest trying out this authentic local dining experience. The service at this establishment was not customer-focused, and I would hesitate to dine here without a local guide.

Yelp
Tried nothing but their cheese fondue which was very popular over there. The menu was only in French which makes it difficult for tourists. Honestly I feel 50 euros is so expensive for the fondue we had. It was just bread pieces cut into four and raclette cheese melt in a pot which gets bland and boring as you go for more bites. However, it was just an experience. The service was okay, not great again as the waiter did not check on us every now and then. Outdoor seating it was mostly.

Yelp
Our experience at L'Etage was quite different than some reviews here. The service was very professional and kind. They were quite attentive. Everything we ordered was uniformly delicious and for an American, quite affordable at 35Euros for a 3 course meal. The restaurant has a lot of style, too, and seems pretty popular considering how crowded it was. I definitely recommend it.

Yelp
This was the worst food experience we had in 10 days of travel. And this place was recommended by a very popular travel guide. I'm intolerant to gluten and dairy. I told them. In French. Then my scallop app comes wrapped in a spring roll. I flagged the waiter down (they never came back to check on us, ever) and said, "I can't eat that." and he suggested I peel the outer layer off. So I said can I get a ceaser salad without croutons instead. Passed the scallop to my boyfriend. The salad came covered in cheese. I told the waiter. On to the entrees. My boyfriend had the truffle risotto. Not cooked well, not seasoned well. Cost a fortune. My duck came with a side of scalloped potatoes. That's a crock of cream and cheese. My duck, was raw. Inedible raw. And they never came back to check on us. And they didn't take anything off the bill. Heartbreaking.

Yelp
My colleagues and I were super happy here. The food was good and plenty but the service was also, well, existent to begin with. Though we had no reservations they accommodated all 6 of us, being clear from the start that they'd need the table for a 9pm reservation. Every one of the staff with whom we dealt was really nice and friendly, which seems to be a rarity in the old town center. We were all happy with our meals. Best tartiflette in town so far.

Yelp
We had lunch here while vacationing in Annecy. We both ordered the plat du jour. Food was good, prices very reasonable. Service was also fair.

Yelp
Came here tonight with my boyfriend - the place is very nice and cozy. Food was great - I had the risotto and scallops and my boyfriend had the sirloin steak. Perhaps the best part was the very nice waitstaff - friendlier than a lot of places we've seen in France and very attentive and patient. Would recommend!

Yelp
This restaurant has a good location, but there are other restaurant option in Annecy with better food and service.

Yelp
Sadly, the food was disappointing. My husband and I came specifically looking for elegance and fine dining. This is located in some off street, surrounded by other touristy restaurants. This was just as bad but they just charge more. Food: Dull, bland, and poor presentation. Though they were polite to us- we were stunned at what we saw that night with how they treated people that came from other countries. A polite family came to eat, they were offered a table behind a pillar in the back. Obviously a table no one would want. I noticed this with other "ethnic" patrons who then chose not to opt to stay. This particular family seemed to politely wait for a front facing patio table to open, and when several opened up, they approached the staff again to request a table. They were told to sit at the back again despite open tables in the front. The waiter just smiled and then waived them away. In this day and age- in such a touristy area-such open racism?? The family naturally left - other patrons noticed as well and I for one was uncomfortable witnessing this. My husband and I were disgusted and couldn't stomach it. Do not give this place your business - the food is average, overpriced, and they are stuck up with no reason. We paid out bill, didn't bother to eat the rest of the meal. Much better places to eat in this area. Don't come here, so many other quality places to explore

Yelp
Like any relationship, things started off great. Our first meal was lunch and it was really good-rilletes de poisson and duck. Everything was fine. Our second visit was for dinner, we had a reservation and wanted to go upstairs but were strongly urged to stay downstairs, outside. We said we were worried about all the smokers (We have a 2 year old). They seated us about 9 inches from a chain smoking couple who proceeded to have a cigarette each every 5 minutes, without fail. Do not sit outside if you don't enjoy smoke in your face, al fresco means 'smoking club' in French. The food on that visit was fine, but not memorable either way. Wanting to relive our first visit, we went back again. We insisted on sitting inside, upstairs this time and we mostly free of smoke, though remarkably the cluster of smokers downstairs managed to get a pretty good dose of fumes to come in through the open windows. The food was very mediocre. We had the cuttlefish, which were not finished, the scallop risotto, which came with four medium sized scallops and a very odd squid ink risotto which managed to be very thick without the pleasant creaminess of risotto. the dessert was a creme brule that was very unimpressive and not worth finishing, even between three of us. Just thick and goopy. Worse than the food, the service was unimaginably slow. Our waiter even acknowledged this and apologized at one point. But sitting for 2.5 hours for what was supposed to be a fairly quick meal was painful. It took 45 minutes from when we ordered our main courses to their final arrival. The tables around us were in even worse shape. By the time we left they were just getting their main courses, so they must have been waiting well over an hour from when they ordered. But we have trouble letting go and wanted so much for L'etage to be our 'go to' place. So we went back again a week later. We made a reservation, showed up on time and were seated (upstairs, to avoid most of the smoke). Because we'd been there before, we looked at the menus quickly and knew what we wanted to order. We spent the next 20 minutes trying to catch the eye of our waitress who was so busy talking to other guests that she never made it back to our table. I mean not to bring us water, not to do anything. I even caught the eye of the other waiter, the older man, and he nodded at me, but never came. After sitting with our menus closed for 30 minutes, we gave up, packed up our stuff and walked out. No one said a word to us. If you don't mind eating with smokers inches from your face, and you have a lot of time to spare, maybe L'etage will treat you right. Or maybe you'll get lucky like we did on our first visit. But being treated well 25% of the time is not a healthy relationship and there are too many other good spots in Annecy that deserve a chance. Sorry Etage, it's not you, it's me, and I no longer like you.

Yelp
Good enough restaurant. My partner had her first Fondue hereand even though she loves cheese she found it like cheese over-load! That would be true of any fondue in any restaurant I suspect. Friendly staff. Agreeable situation.
