Our reservation in the Moose cabin was for the last 3 nights of their season.
Upon arrival Denise greeted us and showed us into the cabin. It was just as represented on the website...very nice. When I questioned what the fragrance was in the cabin, Denise said it was a plug-in air freshener. I asked if she would unplug it, as I was sensitive to fragrances. She opened the closet door (odd place for a freshener) and unplugged it. She said it was a mouse deterrent, but we didn't give it a second thought. The second night of our stay we were kept up by the sound of mice in the wall starting at 2:30 am. Needless to say we didn't want to stay a third night and lose another night's sleep. When Sean came with the muffins that morning, I spoke to him about the mice and said we wouldn't be staying. He immediately said we would not get any refund. He also said that I had been complaining since I got there!! All I did was ask that the air freshener be unplugged! He said he wasn't going to loose $200 because of a mouse. This was not a rustic cabin by any stretch. It was very nice and clean. You just don't expect mice in the walls. He wasn't interested in making any adjustment at all. Maybe a partial refund? I wonder if they were just tired from a long season of renting. I wouldn't recommend staying, unless you sleep well with mice and enjoy the smell of sulphur in the water.
