L'Étoile de Sous

Hidden gem of Golborne Road! Serene on a Saturday afternoon which allowed us to experience stillness and enjoy one of the best cafe con leches this side of the med. Pret has nothing on L’Étoile de Sous, coffee here is fresh and full of flavour! The pastries and baked goods are fresh. Highly recommend the Strawberry Tart and the Chocolate tipped stick which is similar to the Viennese whirl in texture but rather than cream, is filled with what can only be described as a tasty marmalade. If we weren’t on our way to an appointment, we could’ve spent at least an hour here.

Msemen, Moroccan pancakes. If you know, you know! Available from Friday 11am onwards into the weekend if you are lucky.

Had an amazing croissant and coffee here, and the staff was very friendly :) Will come back for sure!

Very quiet, the food is good! Was able to work on my laptop but cannot say if this is an option during busier times. Lovely staff. Decent selection of teas and good baklava!

Owner was very friendly helpful The baklava is delicious (Lebanese) Not dripping in syrup like the (Turkish) Great Coffee great service! Very Fair Prices! Did I say Great Coffee? Well it certainly is good coffee at a price you can't refuse.

The place is a little gem. They make things with care here. As someone living locally, I do not know what the "pastry tasted like Tesco ones" person is on about. Also as someone annoyingly particular about coffee, this is one of the best ones in London. But more importantly it is a very honest place with delicious cakes, breads and more. So good that I am posting my first review ever.

Fabulous coffee, outstanding cakes and nibbles, great value and warm hosts behind the counter. Our favourite haunt before we start our wander down Portobello market.

Friendly local café with excellent coffee, delicious baklava and good croissants and pain au chocolat too (if you like them on the hefty side). The owner is very welcoming. Also it’s terrific value.
