"An intimate place for dinner, serving Middle Eastern food and delightful cocktails with a theme centered around Persian star-crossed lovers Layla and Majnun. Despite its small size, the hotel never appears to be bursting at the seams, not even at night when locals pop in for drinks and dinner." - Juliana Shallcross

Unless you are desperately hungry don't come here. The service is lousy. The server is just sitting there eating and texting on her phone. Asked for a coke and instead of bringing it to you in a glass with ice she brings it in a bottle. Appetizers came about the same time as the main course. Sort of defeats the purpose. Maybe I got them during a bad time.

Staff is wonderful! Waitress was super kind to the child that was dining with us. Very attentive! Shrimp Chimichanga was great!

My first time visiting was yesterday. I read the previous reviews and they did NOT lie. The food was GREAT! I had the Nachos which were only $10.00! They were fresh, portioned perfectly, and very tasty. The customer service was just as good. I’m definitely returning here. 10/10!

Great atmosphere!! Official size pool tables which is cool too see and the best part is the authentic Salvadorian food!! They have different events and concerts which varies from time to time. Loves the service from the owner (who is always there) Yolanda it’s great to know that the owner is also the cook!

Yelp
This is a hole in the wall spot. Very cute setup, they have a restaurant on one side and a little hookah music spot on the other. The food was very good as well. I had a steak quesadilla, and it was amazing (a little salty) but still amazing! And I have even a bigger raving review for the nachos! The meat could be a little juicer but still love it. And got both for only $20! More than enough food for a good price!

Yelp
They place is run by authentic Dominicans. The food is delish and the music is pumping. If you want to dance merengue, bachata and salsa, this is the place. They also have hookah and great drinks. We stayed until closing at 3am cause was soooo much fun.

Yelp
I have ordered from here a few times. Their gallina soup is delicious, as well as their pupusas (tried different tyoes). They have a great menu, with many Salvadorean and now Domican options. The food is fresh. Prices are good for the amount of food provided. Recommend them! (No pics of food, we ate them too quick - maybe next time )

Yelp
I was running late for work. But I needed some aspirin & sucrets to knock out this cold that was trying to take me down. So. I pulled into CVS. Grabbed the needed items. And then... The neon sign caught my eye. "Open"..."Bakery"..."Desayuno"... Well, old wives say you're supposed to feed a cold, right? Well, Leyla's Bakery fed me well that morning. I marched in & sat at the bar. Got my coffee right away. OMG it was strong & black. In spite of the language difficulty I was experiencing, I managed to order huevos rancheros from (maybe) the owner's 16-year-old daughter before she left for school. I am just getting into soft eggs. This was like my 3rd or 5th one. I loved thishuevos rancheros. I think I loved it so much because there was plenty of other stuff to mix into the runny yolk on the plate. Salsa, rice, beans, avocado, plus tortillas on the side. It was all delicious! It did not break my bank either. I was definitely pleased and will absolutely return. Even if I have to/Especially if I get to order from a HS'er who is willing to let me muddle thru messed up Spanish for a really long time before hitting me with the "I speak English." I'm a fan. 04/07/2012

Yelp
This is one of the most dissatisfying restaurants to go to if your looking for a good meal. I ordered a breakfast platter and the portion they gave me was so small that even a child would ask for more. The platanos were very dry with no flavor. This is not a place to go if you're trying to enjoy a good meal. This a place for drunks to go to and waste time. Very disappointed that I ever ordered from here. Do not waste your time going here

Yelp
This place is right down the street from my house and I'm a fan of Peruvian style chicken, so I thought I'd give it a try. Upon walking in, the music is booming lol. I don't mind it seems fun! I wasn't quite sure where to order, so I walked in and went to the side with the pool tables first. Then I saw a waitress and approached her, before going to the bar to order. They should have a sign or something for take out orders. I placed my order and the food was done in about 10 minutes. While ordering, there was some difficulty due to the language barrier between me and the waitress but I was able to order and figure it out. Overall, the food was pretty good and cheap! I ordered two half-chicken meals and it came to only about $18! I'll be back here

Yelp
Clean place, friendly service, food is pretty darn good! Update - I just went back and ordered the same thing and was told that there is a minimum credit card payment of $10. The waitress took my order, had it made, and THEN told me.... if there was a minimum charge, why wasn't I charged last time for the same thing? And why didn't you tell me when I placed the order?

Yelp
This is my FAVORITE pupusa place in all of MD. Not only are the pupusas amazing, but the woman who owns this family business, Yolanda is the most wonderful person. She catered 2 events for me each week for an entire year and was always consistent, the food was always quality and she was always there to make sure things went smoothly. Taquitos here are to die for as well as the plantains!! Let's continue to build up small family owned business and give them the recognition they deserve!!

Yelp
Tasty food -- I had the flautas for $10. The place is divided in half -- the restaurant/bar area and the pool hall / music stage area. This place has 3 pool tables and games cost $1.25 each in quarters (they have a quarter machine). Happy hour is 4-7pm and the special is $3 for certain mexican beers. On weekend nights they bring in a DJ and he sets up on the stage they have.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, clean and nice ambiance. Only drawback is the neighborhood. You definitely see some MS 13 or 18th st type guys hanging out there so there's a shady element to the crowd. 99% are fine but all it takes is a couple bad apples with too many beers in them to ruin the experience which happened when I was there once lol.

Yelp
Good food. Take out is available too. The atmosphere is a pool lounge and bar. It's quiet during dinner time, but I suspect it gets busy at night and on the weekends

Yelp
After rushing to make the barbershop before they close, which is in this neighborhood, I usually come past Leyla's. They have friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. I always get the chicken flautas and chicken tamales. I can't really speak on their baked goods.

Yelp
Can you say the bomb !!!!! I love the papusas and the steak tacos those are my favorites.... I'm from Jamaica but I swear when I want Spanish food this is where I go ALWAYS...

Yelp
Ordered Pollo a la brasa with fries and rice to go,,,should have gone more ethnic but that's what I had a taste for. Sat at the bar to wait for my food, Another customer's fajitas came out smoking hot and smelling and looking very good. My chicken was flavorful, hot and fresh but I don't care for shoe string fries. The rice was pretty good though- mixed vegetables mixed in. The white sauce that comes with the chicken was ok too. I don't care for the green/spicy one. I was thinking as I waited that I would love to bring a large group of friends or family in for some fun and cheap eats- full bar, 3-4 pool tables in an adjacent room. A few guys were having fun with drinks and pool as I waited. The prices are excellent, for $9 got half chicken and two sides- enough for two people. Friendly waitresses

Yelp
Very Rude on the phone tried to ask a question and was cut off and told to have a good day and hung up. didnt even get a chance to finish. will not order from there ever

Yelp
omg......Plantains with black bean dip is awesome..............

Yelp
My lunch at Leyla's had to be the loudest meal I've ever experienced in my life. They were absolutely blasting music from a juke-box. It was made even more jarring by the fact that there were short silent gaps between the songs which only served to make me wish for a more peaceful atmosphere. The other issue was that the kitchen was very slow. It's unfortunate because the food was actually pretty good - not the best, but pretty good. The rice was excellent, however. And no complaints about the price. It was super cheap. I'd be willing to overlook the slow service but since it is so loud I can't come back.

Heidy I.

Yelp
It is difficult to have a decent conversation with yelling to the other person due to the loud music, it's not a family restaurant
