L'Hort de Sant Cebria, near Sant Pere Pescador, Catalonia, Spain - Explore & Book

"You would never believe that this elegant small hotel was only a short drive from the Costa Brava: its honey-coloured stone building, saltwater pool and wisteria-covered terrace make it feel more like a Provençal retreat. It has just 5 rooms and a Suite-Apartment, and each of them is relaxation itself, exquisitely decorated with French antiques and the finest Spanish linen in a soothing palette of greys and browns. Downstairs there’s a lounge to share with other guests and a lovely garden where the pool backs onto a wall of the village’s 12th-century church. There’s also a hidden outdoor lounge at the back. Spend an easy long weekend relaxing in the house, walking around peaceful Torroella de Fluvia and other medieval villages, and sunning yourself at the beach - the closest is just 4km away, and is unspoilt and stunning. Or hole up for a week and make the most of the area’s sensational cuisine, artistic heritage and golf courses. Highs A very restful atmosphere, perfect for a restorative break Great prices, especially considering the refined décor: glass chandeliers, a Roman bust overlooking the pool, arched French windows Friendly and welcoming owner Claudia who lives on site and really cares that you have a wonderful stay You're only 4km from the sea, but it feels like you're deep in the countryside The restaurant scene in this region is sensational Lows Noise sometimes travels and the bells from the church can be a distraction (but they do stop overnight) You'll need a car to get here, there's only 1 restaurant in the village, so you'll have to drive to eat out Only suitable for guests aged 12+ No twin beds" - Laura Dixon

L'Hort de Sant Cebria, a stone house in the village of Torroella de Fluvia, has been perfectly restored to provide a great experience and good value for guests. From the moment you arrive, it is clear you are in the good hands of the gracious host/owner, Claudia. Our room was immaculate and well-provisioned for a good stay. The bed: ultra-comfortable. The bathroom was large and bright, with a powerful shower. A number of spots on the main floor provide cushioned sofas and ample seating for reading and relaxing, and comfortable outdoor seating can be found poolside. Claudia can advise on sophisticated or easy eating spots within a ten or fifteen minute drive. And its only a short drive to the beach. We will definitely return!

My boyfriend and I stayed at this bed and breakfast for two evenings. The place is immaculate and simply magical. First, this small hotel/bed and breakfast is gorgeous. Super high ceilings in the entrance lead to a giant large staircase that takes you up to the rooms. The rooms are very private and well appointed. The bed and bedding was super comfortable and the décor was beautiful. The bathroom is large with plenty of amenities. The AC works great too!||The rest of the house is dreamy. They serve a very large and varied breakfast (loved the tortilla espanola, charcuterie and fresh fruit amongst the broad offering). You can eat the breakfast outside, under a spectacular canopy of flowers, in a setting very suitable for a small wedding or yoga retreat. A small, super clean pool is off the side and I think it may be fresh water (no chlorine smell). The landscaping is impeccable.||The bed and breakfast is located in a peaceful rural setting. Right next door is a small church that dates back to the 12 century with bells that chime regularly. I enjoy hiking and there are plenty of hiking trails in the area. Also, plenty of really good restaurants with delicious paella and seafood. We did some day trips to the busier Costa Brava towns of Cadaques and north too. Super easy to get there.||Lastly, the owner, Claudia, could not have been nicer to us. She was amazing!||I could go on and on but suffice it to say that we loved spending time there and will definitely be going back. Highly recommend!

We booked the suite for three nights in July, and our stay could not have been better. The room was beautifully appointed, comfortable and spotless. The entire house, both inside and out, was stunning. We especially enjoyed relaxing by the pool after a long day of sightseeing. The property is in a quiet town close to both beautiful medieval villages and beach towns. The owners were very nice and gave great advice regarding our daily sightseeing plans. The breakfast buffet each morning was exceptional. I highly recommend this property.

A beautiful B and B providing the perfect place to relax and enjoy a little luxury. The building has been tastefully renovated and there is a warm welcome from its owners. The communal areas, including the pool and garden, are furnished and maintained to a high standard yet still feel comfortable and tranquil. Our room was lovely. It was tastefully decorated and had a spacious en-suite. Everything from the linen to the toiletries was excellent quality and immaculately clean. The breakfast was also excellent, with a good range of choices.||Although the B and B is off the beaten track, it isn’t far to drive to some fascinating well preserved towns and villages, or to Cadaqués which inspired many of Dalí’s paintings. We were absolutely delighted to find this haven after a very disappointing weekend in a shabby Airbnb property along the coast!

Absolutely fantastic in all respects. We stayed for 3 nights and toured the area with advice from Jordi of where to visit and which restaurants to eat at. House is amazing in every way and we had a large bathroom. It’s like staying at a house party with friends. Great location for exploring the Cista Brava coast. Breakfast is high quality with plenty of choice

The owners are perfectionists when it comes to the interior, the garden design as well as the feel-good factor. You immediately feel at home with friends and find perfect service, right down to an ever-expanding list of good restaurants that exist everywhere in the surrounding towns - so you can organise both beach holidays and epicurean holidays from this base. As the breakfast is also opulent (from fresh fruit to homemade cakes), the only negative is looking at the scales at the end of the holiday.

We came here at the end of a year living in Europe--it was a perfect place to relax and enjoy nearby beaches. The 18th century house has beautiful comfortable furniture in the common living room area and in our guest room. Modern bathrooms with a touch of luxury. There were 4 bicycles available to guests for free and we rode them to the Park Natural and its beach, to L'Escala beach, and to see the Roman ruins at Empuries. It was easy to ride along the River Fluvia and then on bike paths or bike lanes to nearby sights. After biking back from the beach, we enjoyed a quick dip in the salt water pool and lounging in the beautiful garden. The church bells ring throughout the day, but only 8 am - 10 pm. The hosts gave lots of good suggestions for things to do in the area, and a printed list of restaurants organized by town, price, and cuisine. Awesome breakfasts with different home made Spanish and French pastries each morning, along with fresh fruit, muesli, eggs, etc.

We had a 4 night stay here as a place to explore the Costa Brava. With a car this is a wonderful place to be based. ||This old police station has been beautifully restored and transformed into a very charming bed and breakfast.||The rooms are compact and comfortable, but have all the things you need, and are very quiet. Fortunately the old church bells, which are a stone's throw away stop pealing between 10pm and 8am.||Breakfast is served on a table overflowing with food and eaten outside when the weather is good under a vine covered trellis. This includes muesli, breads, fresh fruit, cheese and prosciutto, eggs, tortilla, croissants and other delicious pastries. ||The hosts are very knowledgeable about the Costa Brava and can recommend day trips, sights, beaches and restaurants. ||It is an easy drive from Girona and with a car, exploring this wonderful area is easy. ||
