"Sophisticated, elegant and chic, this hotel in a tree-lined street between Belavista and Jardins radiates something special wherever you look. The huge Flemish tapestry on the staircase leads guests to rooms where they will find nice touches such as fruit or sweets, as well as top-quality amenities. Your sense of smell will be constantly aroused by pleasant and inspiring aromas that seem to be a feature throughout the hotel." - Tablet Hotels

I have been staying at the L'Hotel PortoBay Sao Paulo, off and on, since 2011. The reasons I return are: 1. the hotel is managed with the utmost professionalism; 2. the staff is always discreet and friendly and when possible, always goes "the extra mile" for guests; 3. the hotel is located within easy walking distance from many of Sao Paulo's cultural amenities and outstanding restaurants; 4. the rooms are well appointed and comfortable; 5. it is extremely quiet even though it is located in one of Sao Paulo's most dynamic business areas. 6. The breakfast selections are abundant and the food is excellent.

No complaints. Everyone from the front desk to the waitstaff is professional, courteous, and welcoming. The front desk, in particular, went out of their way to accommodate us when we asked for a late check out and responded to all and any questions ( with subway directions to boot!). This is a lovely hotel in the old school 5-star tradition. The included breakfast is a wonderful way to start a day of sightseeing, and the waiters are very attentive. Would stay here again and would absolutely recommend Le Portobay to friends and family.

Excellent hotel with very professional staff (particular thanks to Yan!), good facilities, nice rooms and a superb location! We arrived around 8am in the morning and chose not to pay to get early checkin, but the staff still kindly let us use the shower on the top floor and we had (paid) breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast had a good variety! I also used the small but good hotel gym. Plus there were some nice touches like chocolates and weather forecast each evening.

L'Hotel PortoBay São Paulo was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. As its a 5 star, it has all of the expected features and services. The staff were all very welcoming and offered suggestions and help with anything needed. ||I stayed here on the last couple nights of a longer journey between Argentina and Brazil, it was the right amount of "treating myself" by staying here and I found myself spending extra time in the hotel itself than I ordinarily would. I took advantage of the breakfast one morning as well which exceeded expectations - flavourful, nice options between continental and cooked. Definitely recommended.

Great hotel but bad staff. There was a big miscommunication at the check in where they told me they could give us an earlier suite (it was 11am) saying that that was an upgrade as well and gave me a paper to sign which to me was just a prepayment. |The suite was super loud right next to the elevator machinery.|We asked to change and they told us it was the noise from the gym that was above us and they would close at 9pm.|The noise continued throughout the night. On the next day we asked to change the suite.|At the check out, they told us the first suite which was the upgrade was considered an early check in so they were charging us R$1.000 additional!|The front desk person was very rude saying I had knowledge of that because I’ve signed the document, but the paper said nothing about extra charge.

The pillows are actually the fluffiest. This hotel is a practical and boutique gem. (Having stayed at the Rosewood previously in SP, I knew this would not be that.) The breakfast is amazing inclusive of lovely eggs, salmon, roast beef, cottage cheese, persimmon, papaya, guava…and Champagne. Having already explored São Paulo on a previous visit, I chose to make today a spa day before my pm flight to NYC. Of course MASP is around the corner— for a quick and stupendous art glimpse. The gym is basic and could use a better more free flowing spout on the water filter and yoga mats for floor workouts, yet I was able to do a great workout. The best part of this place is the massages. I booked a lymphatic drainage having heard so much about this back in NYC, and wow— based on Viano’s work I might fly back periodically for more.

Looking forward to stay in this hotel again in couple weeks. Exciting. This hotel has been one of the best experience in Sao Paulo, great location, nice staff that doesn’t judge on what you wear on your vacation, and very friendly atmosphere. Some small minus, but I take as a person bad day to that staff. Superb breakfast, and extremely comfortable bed and nice shower!!! Thank you all staff. I only wish to have online purchases to be delivered there couple weeks in advance for those coming from foreign countries and stay there often. See you soon!!!

Great classic hotel with very attentive service from arrival to checkout. Particularly helpful was doorman Lucas who was kind and accommodating. The property is very clean and well maintained with a very central location just off Avenida Paulista. ||The breakfast was divine and as better than some 4 star hotels I have stayed at in Paris and London. Still dreaming of the pillowy and decadent pão de queijo. the entire breakfast spread is top notch. Alessandro in the restaurant was very helpful and kind as well and provided impeccable service with his team. ||Would definitely stay at this property again
