Gee, I don't know. Everyone else seems to love this place, but it just didn't do it for me. I've tasted the likes of La Maison du Chocolat, Teuscher, Jacques Torres, and Neuhaus and love them all. Even See's Chocolates out where I live....... but Li-Lac, regardless of it being the oldest chocolate producer in New York, just doesn't make a chocolate product that I like. It's kind of waxy and crunchy as a result, and instead, it should have just melted in my mouth. The pieces I bought should have had NO crunch to them. Also, the flavors were just weird, and it just didn't feel like high quality chocolate. To be honest, it was quite second rate to me. Maybe it has a much lower butterfat content, which might alter the taste and texture, and while it might also make it healthier for me, since when do I eat chocolate to save on fat and calories? I don't know what the problem is, but what I do know is that I want it to melt on my tongue and stay there. I want to really taste the flavor of chocolate and feel its smooth, silky richness. Li-Lac chocolates, at the least the 4 pieces that I tasted, did not allow me to achieve that state of bliss. Disappointed, too, because their packaging and store presentation is quite nice, but the actual taste and texture didn't match what I was viewing. Too bad.
