Google
Nice place for breakfast on Saturday morning it was really busy 9am. We were lucky we got a table. We got French toast and bacon it was delicious. So many options on the menu.

Ching Wen Ning

Google
One of the best breakfast spots in town! Absolutely loved the french toast, maple fried banana and eggs benedict.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to ratings. An average meal that satisfies me but isn’t extraordinary gets 3 stars. But this restaurant has earned all 5 stars. In addition to having delicious, high quality food, it’s set a few new records for more: best calamari I’ve ever had (I try it at every restaurant I encounter that serves it), and best, most attentive, and friendly wait staff. It was very personal service. Highly recommend this restaurant, the people running it alone make me want to come back.

Google
Such a lovely place to eat and the service is fantastic. The only issue is that the coffee is not good. If it was improved with some care and a better, maybe local roast it would certainly be one of the best brunches in Cork.

Google
Had an amazing brunch ! Food was unbelievable. Leaving a review though for Shane who honestly topped the service with his humour ! So funny, witty and charming! One of the best attitudes around, especially with how tough hospitality is. First greeting and I said he’s absolutely getting a tip 🎉 and a mention to the older server who dropped us our food who was also so kind 🙏 Great people at Liberty Grill !

Google
The best fish and chips I've ever had! And the stuffed aubergine and chicken salad were great too. We didn't have a reservation but the staff were very nice and found us a table. If I could I would go back there to try other items on the menu!

Google
My partner and I had a lovely meal here. The menu has lots to choose from. Accidentally, the wrong dish was brought for my partner; but the waiter was very kind and apologetic and made it up to us and more! We had such a good experience that we will certainly be recommending this place to others.

Yelp
Loved this place in Cork! Though this city we were not too impressed with, this restaurant was yummy! Small seating area and definitely a local hotspot, Liberty Grill has a delicious menu. Don't be shocked that you'll have to wait to be seated, but the food is worth it. We ordered the All That Jazz burger served with seasoned fries and the chicken burger. The chicken burger was like tender white meat grilled and seasoned well and served with what looks like thin cut fries resembling McDonald's fries. My boyfriend found it very filling to where he had to just eat the meat only cuz the bun was too filling. I enjoyed my jazz burger with had delicious onions and sauce served on it. Cooked perfectly and served with delicious seasoned fries. Definitely a place you should check out close to the shopping area in Cork.

Yelp
Solid breakfast place. Juice is freshly squeezed. Eggs Benny was legit. Very reasonably priced too.

Yelp
The Liberty Grill was recommended to us by our Air BnB hostess, and it did not disappoint! The space is modern, clean, and minimalist: high ceilings, bright lighting, white/grey color palette, and wood accents. I ordered the Crab Burger (€13.90) and subbed a salad for the chips. The burger was moist, flavorful, and delicious! The salad was nice and fresh with a light vinaigrette. Service was friendly. Our server even chatted with us about where we were from and the current heatwave in Ireland. The price was reasonable, too. The restrooms were clean but tiny (typical, though), with the sink inside of the stall. We enjoyed our meal at Liberty Grill; our hostess certainly didn't steer us wrong!

Yelp
One of the few places for brunch - rarely disappoints. Gorgeous crab cakes benedict. Yummy tiny mushrooms. Gorgeous vegan options. Great cocktails. Majority of options fantastic. Love the lamb burger with Tzaziki

Steve K.

Yelp
Colleague and I choose the falafel burger served on pita bread, and the fish (haddock) and chips with side salad. See pics. Recommended by hotel concierge. And I agree. Small place. If you blink, you might miss it. And popular with local diners. Fresh. Tasty. Would return. Good value at half the price of hotel food. Open for breakfast (all day), lunch and dinner. Small Gripes: - Only bottled beers; no beers on draft - No Wi-Fi

Yelp
Came here for dinner and it was really good. I had the crab burger - really thick patty, crispy on the outside and seasoned well. The bun was soft and there was a sauce on it that was tasty. Reservations are a must here - they are pretty much packed every night. I thought about coming back here over the weekend for brunch but the line for brunch is super long - get there early on the weekends!

Yelp
So we wanted a good breakfast in Cork and one of the lads from a coffee shop recommended Liberty. It was busy for a Thursday morning, we got seats after 5ish minutes of waiting. I ordered pancakes with syrup (very small portion - see picture). I ended up ordering poached eggs as i was still hungry. The service was slow, staff were not friendly/chatty. 1 eggs Benedict, Shirley temple mocktail, pancakes, poached eggs and extra toast = €20.30 which is pretty cheap.

Clèm B.

Yelp
Amazing brunch menu! I ate the Mediterranean breakfast with a latte ! With my friends we really appreciated the plus side options which can allow us to taste more things and to personalize our breakfast. It was really good, nice atmosphere and nice waiters! I will go again for sure and I recommended it!

Kelly P.

Yelp
I got their avocado toast and it was absolutely delicious! By far the fanciest avocado toast i've had. I would have liked more avocado on it but the flavors from the tomatoes and cucumber were really nice and refreshing together so I didn't notice too much. The service was great and the atmosphere is really nice especially for brunch.

Ron B.

Yelp
If you're in Cork and consulting Yelp for a place for dinner - don't hesitate, but make a reservation. Great food with locally sourced ingredients and excellent friendly service.

Erica O.

Yelp
I had the Eggs Benedict on gluten free toast and it yummy! The restaurant is clean and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Lovely experience despite the COVID restrictions. Highly recommended!

Ali Q.

Yelp
Came her on the recommendation of a friend and it didn't disapoint. Firstly the menu here is great, there's something for everyone. I had the mushroom bruchetta to start, boyfriend had the crab and potatoes cakes. We were both very pleased wirh our choices as we were with our mains, the San Fran salad for me and the classic burger for him! For dessert we shared some soy ice creams. The restaurant was very busy but the staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive. Well worth making a reservation and having dinner here if you find yourself in Cork.

Jj L.

Yelp
First time back since lockdown. It was amazing as I remembered. I had the fishcakes and pouched eggs. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. I gladly give it 5 stars.

Ryan S.

Yelp
Stopped here with my brother before we went to do the Jameson Distillery tour. Had the maple syrup and banana French toast and a Bailey's and coffee. Amazing, some off the best French toasts I've ever had. Service was great, just like all the service my brother and I experienced while in Ireland. If you're in Cork and need a brunch place, come here!

Lynne B.

Yelp
Great food and nice service. Not touristy which I love. The eggs Benedict were good. The whole staff helps each other out becuz they share their tips, so u dont have to feel bad asking another waiter for anything.

Rosie B.

Yelp
Are you visiting Ireland? Do you miss America? Or have you always wondered what American food tastes like? If so, this is your spot for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Yelp pointed us into this direction for a quick bite to eat around brunch time and I promise you it did not disappoint. Brunch was literally amazing. Everyone was beyond happy with what they got. We even added desert. Nothing like ice cream with coffee and baileys to top off an amazing brunch session. My little one gobbled up her French toast, which says a lot because she's picky. The place is on the small side, however they were able to take our party of 6 within 10 minutes. Service was okay, and the atmosphere was perfect.

Meg K.

Yelp
Fantastic meal! And felt totally comfortable to eat it alone. Have been to Cork before but never get the chance to stop in. Being back on business I had to stop by- which was, of course, the right decision. Fantastic staff, delicious meal, and an atmosphere that was just what the doctor ordered. Ordered the Tempeh Burger with avocado on the side and it was delish! Washed down the meal with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and even treated myself to a piece of New York Cheesecake topped with mixed berry compote and a cup of tea. All items to die for. Can't wait to come back!

Johnny M.

Yelp
For prices 40% higher than the rest of Cork you'd assume the food would be delicious. Well the burgers were also 40% drier. The staff was friendly but had no answers about st Finn Barr. Do not recommend. Dry. overpriced.

J B.

Yelp
Loved it - really delicious lunch. Open face chicken, crab burger and eggs Benedict. Busy Tuesday at 230 but in a good way. Friendly service. Recommended.

Jordan G.

Yelp
Brrakfast: Eggs Benedict was great, wait staff friendly. Went there twice. Farm fresh food, great Latte and Tea as well. Small place, get there early!!! Wish we could have done dinner...it was too packed...

Çetin A.

Yelp
Try crab cake as starter, nicely spiced, worth it. I tested the fish of the day as main, was average (a bit overcooked) , I should had stick with the fiah&chips. Desserts seems good, my cheesecake was awesome. Nice staff, ~35€ for a 3 courses and drink.

Kevin L.

Yelp
We came for dinner right around 7PM and luckily got a table cleared for us right when we arrived. We both got mocktails and started with the scallops, which were very well cooked. For our main course, we had the crab burger and steak salad. The crab burger was not just a giant crab cake on a bun and was fine. The steak salad came with a tremendous amount of steak and not so much on the salad greens, but it was quite good. We were very full after just that. Service was generally quick and friendly.

Ann F.

Yelp
Simply delicious. Wanted to go here while visiting, but hard to get a table. Small restaurant, but so well done. The hostess worked it out so we could stay for dinner. The food is so fresh and wonderful. We had the fish and chips (the best I have ever had), falafel burger, and quinoa and chickpea salad. It was well worth the work to get a table. Great service, great atmosphere, great food.

Nick S.

Yelp
I'm always fooled by the "crab sandwich" on Irish menus. In the states that implies a hot sandwich almost exclusively containing a crab cake. Here, on the other hand, it basically means "crab salad" with rocket on toast. Still tasty, but it doesn't stop the initial "WTF!?" each time my plate arrives. Oh, and Liberty Grill... it rocks. Love the atmosphere, and the food is fresh and tasty without being too pricey.

Sonia M.

Yelp
Have been dying to try for a long time and as we were home for the weekend it was a perfect opportunity. After speaking to a couple of regulars beforehand we were advised that Saturday mornings are busy and you must expect to queue. Thankfully when we arrived it was dry and we waited for a half hour but it was well worth the wait. The menu was fantastic especially as they could adapt the menu to be gluten free a plus for me. I opted for the special known as "A Sparkling Start" which is €13.50 for a glass of bubbles, eggs benedict or florentine and a pot of tea. I opted for the eggs benedict which was absolutely delicious I did have some food envy of my friend who went for the Mediterranean breakfast. Excellent food and great service cannot wait for my next trip!

Jane E.

Yelp
Terrific. Accommodating of families and are fast and efficient. Food is so delicious, fresh and inventive. I love the vegan options that taste better than anything I've ever had. I had the blackened temph burger and it was delicious. The accompanying sweet fries were just about the best fries, baked, charred goodness ever. Please go here. Do not hesitate. Just remember to make a reservation, come early and walk rather than drive. Parking tricky.

Bill W.

Yelp
I had the Tempeh burger and it was absolutely fantastic. The service was grand and the atmosphere is casual. I would recommend getting a reservation if you're going out for dinner and expect a wait in line for lunch .

诚宁

Yelp
Really nice place for brunch. I would recommend you to eat at work days cuz you have to wait for a table at the weekends! There are lots of choices for different people, brunch and lunch special are really good, as well as the desert! Will definitely visit again!

Anna Y.

Yelp
The place looks lovely and everyone's food looked delicious, but I think the waiters were pretty tired by the time we arrived (9 pm). We waited for 1 hour for our food (a burger and the catch of the day), and my dish was way too salty. Otherwise I think the place is wonderful, we just didn't catch them at the right time.

A M.

Yelp
Good vegetarian options and mocktails. Nice atmosphere and good location!

Jack K.

Yelp
One of the best meals I have ever had. Reasonably priced small facility but big on taste. The staff was second to none. Make sure you reserve a table on busy nights. It is worth the wait

Justin S.

Yelp
Liberty Grill was recommended to us by our b&b owners in Cork, and we stopped in on a recent (very busy) Saturday night when we were turned away from a few other places in town. I put my name on the list and was told to return in 30 minutes, at which point we were promptly seated. Liberty Grill is hip and bright, with an interesting and creative menu. We were famished by the time we sat down, so we ordered a few appetizers as well as our main courses, all of which were great. The avocado toasts were a standout starter, and I really enjoyed the rib-eye steak with fries as my main. The food was nicely presented and prepared, and the portions are more than generous. Service was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is bright and cheerful, and presents an affordable price point for being in the center of Cork. It's a little off the beaten path from the Oliver Plunkett Street area where most of the restaurants seem to be, but worth a short walk for an enjoyable meal!

Yelp
Somewhat hilariously, during our stay in Cork, Ireland, my boyfriend and I decided to have a date night. Cork is apparently quite the foodie city, so we had some trouble choosing a place, but ended up at the Liberty Grill (which is the hilarious part, considering we went all the way from DC, where every other restaurant is named Liberty Something, haha). They were packed, which was a good sign, though the waiter wasn't sure if he'd be able to seat us at first without a reservation. Thankfully, the odds seemed to be in our favor, and he sat us in a cozy little booth without much waiting. We shared the crab and potato cakes to start, which was basically a beautifully plated crab cake app with a little bit of a kick in the sauce. Then for my main course I ordered the lamb burger and my boyfriend got the sirloin. The lamb burger was very flavorful, done up with Mediterranean flavors and a good sampling. There was a mix-up about my side (I asked for roasted potatoes, it came with fries, or maybe vice versa) so they very kindly brought out the correct side AND let me keep the first one. MOAR POTATOES! (Hey, if not in Ireland, then where?) All in all, a very delightful dining experience! I'd definitely recommend it if you're traveling to Cork. I guess it's common decency to make reservations though, so bear that in mind!

E W.

Yelp
We had a great brunch at the Liberty Grill when we visited Cork. We even queued (a friend had recommended it so we thought we'd wait). It was worth it. The food was tasty, atmosphere good, staff were friendly and accommodating. I was following a gluten free and dairy free diet at the time and it was no problem at all. If you're in Cork - check it out.

Yelp
The Liberty Grill is excellent. It is one of the best restaurants my husband and I have dined at in Europe during our 1.5 years living abroad. The menu boasts a few American favorites which made us happy as these dishes are impossible to find in Europe. We started with the crab and potato cakes. They melted in our mouths. I could have simple eaten two servings of the crab cakes for my main and been a happy camper. For our mains, my husband opted for the pork chops and I ordered the lemon chicken. My chicken was cooked to perfection - juicy and very flavorful. The downside is that the chicken is served partially on the bone which I am not a fan of, however, they cleverly sliced the meat off the bone for easy eating. I didn't notice that the chicken was sliced until after I moved it off of the salad on the plate. My husband enjoyed his pork chops stating that the sauce was very delicious. In fact, he said that he dreamed of the sauce last night after eating at Liberty Grill. For dessert, we split the pecan pie. It was heavenly. The consistency of the pie filling was different than what we are used to (the "guts" appeared to be bound together by a caramel type substance) but it was oh so delicous. I think we are going to return to Liberty Grill and order a slice of the pie to go and enjoy it after arriving in Galway on our Great Irish Roadtrip. One thing to note, Liberty Grill accepts bookings over phone and email. Book a table otherwise you will not be able to get in. Our table was at 9pm on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. Eat here. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
OMG loved this place too much. Went with 3 of my mates and we we're all so happy with our food. I got a ceasar salad, was yum and huge and my friend got a bean burger and my other friend got a fishy salad thing. Oooo seems pointless to yall I'm sure but the diet cokes were huge and loved Ther glasses... That makes a meal SOOO much better to me hehe yum yum. 5 stars from me chips epic too

Meagan M.

Yelp
This place was amazing. I have to be honest and say that I thought it was recommended to us because we are Americans, but after eating here and seeing the amount of locals enjoying it, I know that we weren't. The lighting and ambiance is beautiful with floor lights lit up on the white walls and dark brown and blues everywhere. The place was packed so when we were asked if we had a reservation we were worried, but they sat us down no problem! We weren't starving, but when I saw the chicken, bacon, and avo burger special, I had to try it. My husband got two starters - the scallops and the squash cakes (I can't remember what they were called on the menu). In his own words, "These scallops are incredible, and I don't even like scallops!" Sometimes he tries new things ;) I ate every last bite of my chicken burger - the flavors were all there and perfect together. After our meal, we were enjoying the ambiance so much that we decided to get a bottle of wine. While pouring our wine, the server asked if we were looking to go out for a few drinks because he wanted to recommend a place. He was so hospitable and even brought us a little entertainment book of things going on that weekend in the area. One thing I sort of chuckled at was the size of the kitchen. It is just so small compared to the places in the States where you could get a comparable meal. The kitchens here are huge in comparison! We met some family of a friend we traveled with to Ireland who are all from Cork and they said this place is a local favorite! So glad we stopped in and will hopefully be back!

lisa O.

Yelp
Really nice selection of food in here, wide variety of burgers. A little small but a very nice. The wait staff are very attentive and nice.

Kris D.

Yelp
Excellent venue. We stopped by without a reservation after the taxi driver from the airport recommended it. After a long day, we weren't very hungry anymore so we indulged in appetizers and dessert and were quite pleased. Will definitely stop for a proper dinner before we leave Cork!

Matt W.

Yelp
A wide variety of burgers--all of which are reasonably priced and consistently delicious. Favorites include the lamb burger and the grilled haloumi burger. Also, the breakfasts represent a solid offering of American-style cuisine including eggs benedict and french toast. Not to be missed for any time of day!

Miranda C.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing place!! Service was spectacular and the restaurant was adorable!! The is a must!! Strawberries and cream French toast and eggs Benedict were delicious!! So fresh!

Andrea D.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. I had the special, huevos benedict, which was the best eggs benedict of my trip to both Ireland and London. Definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast or brunch!

Ann J.

Yelp
Unfortunately this restaurant was quite a disappointment after seeing so many positive reviews. My colleague got the fish special that was heavily spiced with a poor combination of herbs, etc. I got the burger and it was way overcooked and on a cold bun. We went ahead and ordered the rum and chocolate torte which was completely tasteless. Not sure if this was due to no sugar or chocolate whatsoever or lack of both. We took one bite and left the rest.

Ryan D.

Yelp
Went here on a weekday for an early dinner. I was initially a bit concerned by the name that it would be a chain restaurant serving American food but after looking through the reviews that didn't seem to be be the case. We were here on the off season which was great because we didn't have to spend any time waiting to be seated which appears to have been an issue for other yelp reviewers. With respect to drinks the selection was pretty appalling. They had three beers on the menu and a handful of cocktails which was quite underwhelming. Frustratingly for the cocktail I ordered they were out of mead and although the waitstaff were apologetic he was unable to recommend another option or provide an alternative to how they would make the drink. My companions cocktail also had a component out of stock but they were able to accommodate her. With respect to the food it was somewhat underwhelming. I had the burger and my travel companion had the seared beef salad. Both dishes were edible but didn't have anything special that really set them apart. Overall, this was our first meal in Cork and although the rest of the city and our time there was quite enjoyable this was one of the least enjoyable experiences while in the city. Thought it would be nice to provide an alternative experience as so many others appear to have had a wonderful experience.

Robert G.

Yelp
So Was told to come here from a local friend ordered pancakes and "Full American" hmmm Full American consisted of eggs bacon and sourdough bread? Not sure where in America this was from but it sure wasn't a full American and it was €10 about $11 or $12 and for that in America you can have a real Full American eggs sausage bacon biscuit and pancakes Now thats a real full american

Yelp
LIBERTY GRILL 12.07.10 LIBERTY GRILL The Liberty Grill in Washington Street is up among my top restaurants in Cork. Cooking and service are excellent and there is never a shortage of variety on offer, that variety often enhanced by the addition of monthly specials. Fancy an early meal today? Then why not have a look at their July Brunch and Lunch specials. Brunch ('til 5pm): Scrambled Serrano 6.95 (with glass of cava plus tea or coffee 12.50); Irish Strawberries (v) 5.95; Banana Tempura (v) 5.95. Lunch (from 12 midday): Peri-Peri Chicken Burger 13.50; Beetroot and Goats Cheese Salad (v) 8.95. LIBERTY GRILL 11.05.10 Liberty Grill, in a bid to make sure all its regulars get a taste of the Dine-in-Cork action, have extended the €25.00 offer until the end of the current month. I took my chance last evening and wasn't disappointed. Started off with the Spicy Crab Toast: Atlantic crab on spicy sourdough toast and we also enjoyed the Marinated Yellow Fin Tuna - Louisiana Style: Rare tuna served with slow roasted tomatoes and bbq sauce. Very enjoyable, though I think the Tuna would get the nod the next time. No disagreement on the main course: Cork reared Spring lamb - noisette of lamb from O'Mahony's in the English Market with flageolet bean cassoulet with a tomato and bean chutney. Didn't look all that attractive but was a terrific combination. Think I won the battle of desserts with my Panna Cotta with berries and shortbread soldiers. Our other dessert, there were loads of choices, was a Sorbet (Lemon, Blackcurrant and Mango). Wine: CyT Sauvignon Blanc, medium body, light and fruity, a bargain at €17.25. As usual, the service was friendly and efficient. Coffee was included in the 25 euro and, as we sipped, we reflected on a very enjoyable meal indeed. If you do get a chance to call in before the end of May, this is my tip for a fine meal: Tuna, Lamb and Panna Cotta. But try it out for yourself! LIBERTY GRILL 01.03.10 When you walk into the Liberty Grill, you are struck by the happy buzz. It is full again this Friday evening (we started at 6.45pm), all enjoying the good food, well cooked, well presented and served by a smashing staff. A share of people are dining en famille. Don't come across it much around town. The well behaved kids are well catered for here; they even get their food ahead of the adults. Are you to limited to burgers and chips here? No. Far from it. There is a huge menu in this early 'til late venue. Burgers for sure, all made from the best local produce. Then there are tempting salads, fish, poultry, lamb and beef along with vegetarian dishes. Something for everyone. Started with a Southern Fried Chicken salad: slices of southern fried chicken on a bed of seasonal leaves with Jalapeño peppers, toasted cashews and tomato salsa. The advisor enjoyed the Deep Fried Cambozola (Italian cheese) with a cranberry coulis. Mine cost €7.95, hers €4.95. Promising start. My main dish was the Tennessee Flambé (17.95). This consisted of tender medallions of the very best beef, peppered and flambéed in a shot of Jack Daniels and served with mushrooms, sweet balsamic onions and crispy garlic potatoes. This was absolutely brilliant, couldn't recommend it highly enough. The other main course at the table was a Salad Niçoise (14.95), a truly healthy and tasty mix of line caught yellow fin tuna, potatoes, hardboiled eggs, olives, French beans and seasonal salad leaves. This was quite a substantial dish and lived up to the description. There is an adequate selection of wines available, most between twenty and thirty euro, though the house wine costs just €17.25 (4.65 per glass). There was also a Wine of the Month available at 5.25 a glass. I enjoyed my Montemartel Cotes du Rhone (Syrah, Grenache and Carignan) very much. But the white, a Claire Moreau Muscadet Sur Lie, was a really gripping drink and you needed only the tiniest drop to become aware of the quality. Both wines are available at the Wine Buff, just across the road. You also have a number of sparkling wines available and a popular feature is the non-alcoholic Mocktail, a favourite with kids and adults alike.

Brittany N.

Yelp
We had an impromptu dinner here and had a great time. The seafood chowder was incredible and very fresh. 2 of our party had the Tennessee Flambé and absolutely loved it. I had the seared steak salad and it was excellent; all very fresh and just the perfect amount of flavor. Excellent service!

Mike S.

Yelp
Great food, great service off the beaten path from the trendy over priced lunch spots. Well worth a few extra minutes for the walk.

Katherine H.

Yelp
A quaint, charming, and elegant restaurant with a lovely low key ambiance. Great selection of wine - Malbec and Port especially good. Fresh fried calamari, and a simple flavorful fried brie were our appetizers. Superb fish and chips, and a tender, stellar filet without fat or gristle cooked to perfection with a slight char on the outside. Service was prompt and always with a smile.

Kim M.

Yelp
Great Resturant. We started with a potato and lamb balls. Dinner we had the Melbac for wine and entree was fish and chips and a burger. Dessert chocolate sundae. Service was fantastic. Whole meal total for two €60.
