Liberty Park, situated in the vibrant heart of downtown Salt Lake City, is a true urban oasis that offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Spanning over 80 acres, this park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, providing a myriad of trails suitable for walking, skating, running, and biking. The well-maintained paths meander through lush greenery, making it an ideal spot for both leisurely strolls and invigorating workouts. One of the park's standout features is its stunning lake, complete with a charming little peninsula that hosts a picturesque gazebo. Very pretty, lovely people, nice walking paths. Technically there's no off leash area, but the park is so large there's always some empty space to throw a stick or ball around. (There are ducks and squirrels hanging out, so be aware) Lots and lots of parking, public restrooms, lots of available seating, and the vendors are interesting.

This is a beautiful park! It's very large, nice amenities. And beautiful vistas. It's located minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. 5 stars all day long, and thank you to staff and visitors, for a job well done in its preservation and upkeep.

Clean with lots of trash cans. Porta-potties. Squirrels and ducks. Very pretty. Small section of the park had some litter - probably associated with folks who are homeless - but no sketchy vibes. Early morning visit was great.

Google
This park is huge and it has a concrete path that you can drive all the way around but there are Gates in the middle on each side that make you go out and back in. Aviary and a ferris wheel on one side! Lake with a gazebo on the other side but currently the lake is dried up. Cute Park!

Fantastic Park to see 👀 #UtahLowriders on a Sunday afternoon. Heads up they post up on the Southwest corner every Sunday from 1pm till 5pm.

I'm here on July 24th... The big State holiday less than 1 hr after the huge parade ended and the park is absolutely spotless. The parks staff has done and is still hard at work keeping this big amazing park perfectly clean. I'm highly impressed. The staff has been so kind. Highest of compliments to the park staff. Thank you for a job very well done.

The park is peaceful and has an amazing lake where you can paddle. There are volleyball courts and it is perfect for a family picnic.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE this park - it's one of my all-time favorites. Liberty Park is massive and so incredibly enjoyable. There's so much to it, there's something for everyone. Large grassy areas to relax, play, or picnic on, a playground, a large pond with swans... Absolutely lovely to walk around and take it all in. You'll also find Tracy Aviary here. Such a fun stop for all ages. Love getting to see all the birds, and you can also buy experiences to feed some of the birds. Lots of great restaurants and shops nearby as well. Great way to spend a morning or an afternoon!

Yelp
Gorgeous sprawling park and a reprieve from the hustle and bustle in Salt Lake City. There are so many trails and walkways throughout the park you can take a different route each time you visit but the most popular seems to be the trail that encircles the entirety of the park. There are both a cement route on which people in line skate or there's also a wood chip path that's more comfortable for walking and jogging. Make sure you visit the cute gazebo near the lake to watch the ducks and geese! If you like birding, there is also a paid entry aviary that looks enticing. The calls from the different birds suggests a good variety of avian. If you're a history buff, there's also a museum in the park, located inside a historic building. Make sure the check the hours as it may be different from park hours. It's interesting to read about the history of the building as well as the park and surrounding area. There are also many artifacts on display and just the building itself is interesting to admire. Parking is ample. Note that it's one way and there are bumps on the pavement to signal to reduce driving speed as the entire driving loop is a parking lot with reduced speeds to ensure the safety of wildlife, humans, and their pets. A lot of people walk theirs dogs here and I've seen some off leash dogs run towards the parking area so be aware of tiny animals. Overall recommend!

Yelp
Came here for the first time since I moved to salt lake 5 years ago. I've always been under the impression it was not a very nice park due to a high concentration of homeless. Turns out I was sort of right. There were a good amount of homeless people, however despite this the park was still quite busy with a lot going on. There is a pretty cool tennis training facility I didn't know about, and they have a merry go round, Ferris wheel, and other rides going on during summer. Then of course there is the Tracy aviary.

Yelp
What a great place. Few playgrounds for kids and a lovely lake in the middle which was frozen when we visited during Christmas week. It was wonderful to watch the birds walk on the frozen lake and the kids had fun running around. Would love to come back to explore the full park :)

Yelp
There's nothing more romantic than a stroll through the park, smiling at others as you walk by and asking to pet every dog you see. At least that's how I enjoy spending any random Saturday morning. There's lots of open space with gloriously tall trees and a paved walking path that winds around the park. Young park goers will rejoice at the playgrounds with any amenity imaginable. The parking is a little tricky with limited entrances around the park-but that probably keeps traffic down and makes it safer for all the bikers and pedestrians. I love this park and if you find me here, I'll be happy to share the park vibe with you.

Yelp
When visiting SLC, I was lucky enough to be staying in a place that was only a 10-minute walk away from Liberty Park. It was a great way to get in my morning exercise, and it was an easy walk, mostly on flat roads. The park itself is right off of Harvey Milk Blvd (Love it!) and it was filled with walkers, joggers, and people playing frisbee with their dogs, even as early as 7:30 A.M. The air was cool during September and I had to wear a jacket the whole time I was walking. The park is really big and it's in a great area, featuring mostly residential neighborhoods. My walk to the park allowed me to see how the locals lived and to get a feel for the architecture. The houses reminded me a great deal of the homes in New Orleans. They were eclectic and artsy with interesting, mostly muted colors. The park seems to be in a really safe area, too. Should I return to the area, I hope I'll get to go back to Liberty Park and take in the sights, sounds, and get my exercise there!

Yelp
In June 2024, there were no barbecue grills anywhere in the park. The city website needs to be updated. We talked to parks and rec staff and they said all the grills were taken out because homeless or intoxicated people had broken them. The rest of the pavilion area looked nice for a picnic if you don't have to cook raw meat. :)

Yelp
This park is huge and very well maintained. Tons of parking all around the park- we were able to find a spot very easily. There is a beautiful walkway with mature trees creating a canopy that was absolutely magical to walk through. For pedestrians, there is a separate path on the perimeter just for walkers and runners. My favorite part of this park was the giant hill overlooking the whole park and the little lake. The grass was just so lush and really comfortable to sit and lay in. When I was there, there was a drum circle going on with around 50 people participating. I also noticed that there were areas with water features that were not running when we were there (early October). There was also a section with a mini Ferris wheel that was closed down at the time of my visit. They also had basketball courts and tennis courts! Overall, this is a beautiful park with lots of amenities. I wouldn't hesitate to come here for some good Salt Lake City sunshine next time I'm in town!

Yelp
This park is such a fun, funky place for the warmer months in SLC!! It's a great spot for picnics, bike ridding, reading, and strolling. I know that there may be spots in town, and this one can sometimes feel questionably safe depending on the hour/people around, but I think that's what I love about this place, it's diverse and a great place to be.

Yelp
Lightwalk slc! I had such a good time at the lightwalk they did this December. I hope they had a good turn out and are able to do it again! This reminds me of New York in the sense of how New York has Central Park. To me, liberty park is the Central Park of Utah, if that makes sense! Tracy Aviary is here which is an amazing exhibit of birds of all kinds. There are peacocks, lots of wild animals in the bird world and it is just beautiful. That area alone has the biggest exhibit of exotic birds in the country I believe.. and there is a farmers markets that happens all summer usually at dusk. Now with winter and the lightwalk, it is the perfect atmosphere for being outside anytime of year.

Yared N.

Yelp
Liberty Park is one of the best city parks. The aviary is a great family activity, and the local vendors add a charming touch. The park is really popular, so you can expect public events pretty often. The lake is beautiful and adds to the park's appeal.

Yelp
Great place for workouts and tennis. The front desk staff is awesome and they have a great selection of racquets and shoes. Always stocked with drinks ans snacks if needed.

Yelp
With this whole lockdown, I've been getting out in the great outdoors far more than I ever have in my entire life. While spending a little time at my condo in Utah, I decided to take a stroll around Liberty Park. It's not the most beautiful park, but it's free, spacious, and a nice place to enjoy some fresh air. I spent an hour walking around on the nice paved trail, enjoyed watching the ducks in the pond, and took my time observing all the cute dogs who were enjoying the green, open spaces. The pond is kind of gross and filled with lots of green moss, and you wouldn't want to sit around near the water line because there are pesky mosquitoes buzzing around (see, I told you I'm not outdoorsy at all), but there are plenty of little nooks and crannies where you can find a peaceful escape from the bustling world. There are tennis courts, volleyball, basketball, an aviary ($12 admission), and some pretty gardens on the property. Lots and lots of free, easy parking. This seems like a really nice place to run, if that's your thing. The park is free and open very late (11 pm), which is pretty cool.

Yelp
I only had time to walk on a tiny south east corner of SLC 2nd largest park. The plant palette here perfectly compliments the well defined curves of the lake to make picturesque views. Majestic Pine Trees line the perimeter ring road and parking strip to create a perfect buffer between the hard urban edge and the soft naturalistic landscape. There is just so much more to appreciate that a brief visit could uncover. In comparison to Central Park in New York, this park has a denser and richer composition. The park was designed by Joseph Don Carlos Young, who was the son of Brigham Young, Utah's First Governor and Founder of Salt Lake City. The park is also on the National Register of Historic Places.

Yelp
Beautiful outdoor park! It is in the center of Salt Lake City and every Sunday they have a small market with local business. Great park for family and dogs!
google avatar

Gemini U.

Yelp
This used to be the park to go to back in the day, before they put the road blocks up. The park is pretty large for a city park, with a large pond with tons of geese, and ducks that people like to feed. They have updated, and remodeled the tennis courts. They actually have people playing on them now. The swimming pool has also been maintained, and looks like people were having fun today. They are looking to hire, and train new life guards if any one is interested. They used to have a drum circle on Sundays, but I didn't see any evidence of it. What I saw instead were arts, and crafts booths. The parks has plenty of grassy areas to do yogs, volleyball, or family picnics. There are two play areas for smaller kids and one has a splash pad. If you walk, or run around the park it's a mile all the way around, very doable as there is a side walk, or running path for your convenience. Tracy Avery is in this park, and has a fee to get in, but we'll worth going in and looking at all the different birds.

Yelp
We came here for the 24th of July celebration, food trucks, large crowds and cool fireworks. My dog loved the people and the smells of the food. My parent's used to take me to this park as a child and I remember they had the tallest swings in the area and I got butterflies in my stomach from being pushed so high. Oh the memories this place conjures up.

Yelp
In the last month I've been in this park more than I had been in the last few years, so it felt like time to make an update. Truth: parks are magic. Against the urban backdrop, they're vibrant, oxygen-filled oases where humans can meet face to face instead of via emoji or a right-swipe. They're real, and they connect us to each other. Liberty park is alive. I was here for a family picnic and it was a weekend afternoon. It was filled with people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and affiliation. My nephew ended up playing soccer with a stranger and all the kids ran around without borders. We grabbed a picnic table and went all in on family potluck. I've been a few other times for the Friday night farmers market (listed separately here on Yelp) and I love love it. I'll expound on it more when I write that review, but it says a lot about me that I can hardly think of a better way to spend a Friday night than walking the small, approachable farmers market and collecting a few ingredients. Spoiler alert: when I do write that review, I'm gonna wax pretty poetic about that, and if you're the kind of person who likes gardening or cooking or farmers markets, you're gonna just GET IT. The park has seen some improvements over the last many years. Tracy Aviary seems to be nicer, the pond is nicer, and even though there are still plenty of displaced citizens in the park in need of stable housing, it's a much more chill vibe. The volleyball courts seem to always have someone there, the walking track is always full of walkers/runners/their dogs, and every so often you can still catch a drum circle. Furreal, those drum circles are more SLC than just about anything I can think of. I should spend more time here. I'm glad the last month has afforded me that, and it's made me realize I need to do it more often. Let's go picnic in the park together!

Lacey T.

Yelp
I've been to Liberty Park many times, but I'm ashamed to say I've never really explored it. I always head straight to Tracy Aviary, and yes, you should definitely go there, but this park is an attraction all it's own. It's beautiful, and lovingly cared for, full of giant grandfather trees that I just want to hug. There are pergolas covered in vining plants with benches tucked underneath. Huge and beautifully arranged planters full of flowers. A bridge that brings you to an island on which a huge gazebo presides. And that pond! It's almost a lake, and okay yes, there are geese and ducks and the little presents they leave, but that's really the only negative I can give, and it's worth it to watch our fine-feathered friends splashing about. Last week I stopped here for the farmers market, which occurs Fridays from 4-7 during the Summer and into early fall. It's small, but has the basics, plus Normal Ice Cream, which was the reason for my visit. They also host other events like a Monday night concert series, 5Ks and "Strut Your Mutt." There's plenty of parking, and it's just really such a large space! A while back I started saying "live your best life" ironically, but if we can ignore it's ubiquity and really think about it, isn't that an amazing way to aspire to exist? Now I pretend it's still a joke, but really I've been saying it in earnest. On my most recent visit to Liberty Park so many people were living their best life: walking their dogs, running, shopping the farmers market, playing frisbee, picnicking, catching up with friends, feeding waterfowl, etc etc. There is a real sense of community here, and it seemed like everywhere I looked I saw smiling faces. I couldn't help but feel joyful myself! Salt Lake City isn't huge by any means, but it's still awfully nice to be able to escape it, and enjoy nature in such close proximity to where we live and work.

Yelp
Large park with plenty of parking. Along the parking spaces, there are trash bins roughly 50 feet apart. There are no excuses for littering. This park is kept clean and it shows. When a park is kept clean, it truly makes a difference. The locals must be pleased to have such a great park in their neighborhood.
google avatar

Yelp
The roommate and I were having lunch across the street. When I realized there was a park right here, I wanted to check it out. We stopped by on Thursday, December 8th around 2:30pm. Liberty Park is a decent size. I believe it's Salt Lake's second largest public park? We walked the length of the park, so from 1300 S to 900 S. I know there's a greenhouse, aviary, etc, but we didn't explore the park much. It was freezing. So much so, that part of the lake was frozen. We did see a number of playgrounds, a couple having a barbecue, people jogging, etc. It was nice just soaking in the atmosphere of the quiet park. I love walking around when on vacation. Glad I basically ran into Liberty Park and had time a little time to explore.
google avatar

MelissaAnne B.

Yelp
Beautiful scenery. I'm visiting for a convention and decided to take a stroll at this beautiful park. It's so peaceful and a place to relax and let off steam. There are multiple picnic tables and bbq stations that you could come and throw a party in. There's also a huge playground for the kids to enjoy and a type of party hall that could hold your next event. My favorite part would be the pond.
google avatar

Nick K.

Yelp
Nice park close to downtown in Salt Lake City. Highlights include a Central Park-esque mall in the middle, a small pond, aviary, top-notch tennis facility and nice running loop around the whole thing. My advice is to go early, grab a bagel from The Bagel Project, and do a loop or two before spending some time at the lake or aviary. It will bring you much happiness, trust me.
google avatar

Jill A.

Yelp
I love spending time at this park. There is always something going on whether it's a drum circle, cosplay, 10k, doggy parade or farmers market. It feels clean.and safe; surrounded by quaint homes, a delicious cafe and busy streets. There's a duck pond, large playground and ample barbecue stations. Tracy Aviary is also located on site towards the southwest end. It's dog friendly sla your pup is leashed and the sidewalk loop keeps him from getting muddy paws if the grass is wet. But watch out for scooters, bikers, and rollerbladers. My only gripe is the one way parking. If you pass your area you have to drive all the way around again to get to it.
google avatar

Rowena B.

Yelp
Great park and playground. Nice to have free parking somewhere central and it's free. Google maps makes it look like a loop road, like you could keep circling the road trying to get your baby to sleep, but that's not the case. It's blocked off in sections and you end up back on the road. Walking, running, scooters, cycling can keep looping around though. The playground is big. Loads of swings, which is what everyone wants at a park. It's in two sections, one for little kids and one for bigger kids. The little kid section has musical instruments which is cute and I've never seen before. It's a shame that the restrooms are closed during winter. We had to change our son on a picnic table and it was a little cold out yesterday.
google avatar

Ashley J.

Yelp
I love urban parks like this! I just noticed this review in my drafts with just that one sentence. I guess I'll expand! I love that it's nature and open space and togetherness in the middle of the city! So much space to walk around. So many things to do and see. You could spend days here! Definitely a gem in SLC!
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
A large beautiful park. Explored during a sunny SNOW day, can't wait to enjoy it during summer!
google avatar

L.in. J.

Yelp
No open restrooms, only port-o John's on one side of the park. Views and aviary are okay, but not my first choice if I can't stay hydrated and use a restroom.
google avatar

Chelsey C.

Yelp
This. Is. The. Best. Dog. Park. Ever. I have taken my little pomchi to every dog park in Utah and Liberty is still my number one. The park is huge and filled with beautiful greenery. They have every possible activity you could want at a park. We threw my dog's birthday party here and he had a blast! Liberty has great benches underneath trees that make gatherings a breeze to set up. There are also SO MANY cute dogs here. My little guy loves coming here to meet and socialize with other dogs. Definitely my favorite park all around!
google avatar

Yelp
Really great kids park in the middle of the city. We're visiting from out-of-town; I took my 4-year-old out to get some outdoor time. Great variety of play areas, all in good condition. We spent a couple of hours running and jumping and playing, climbing, playing with the musical instruments, carrying leaves around till he was tired out. Weather was beautiful mid-October. Lots of other friendly kids. Easy parking. I don't know if the bathrooms were open or not, but I ended up using a porto, which was ok.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
My whole family loves this park! It has so many wonderfully mature trees. There is so much to do with several defined areas for different activities. Our favorite activities are to have a picnic in the shade on the grass, bring our bikes or scooters and go up and down the middle sidewalks (shaded, super wide, away from cars), and visit Tracy Aviary. The pond is also fun to visit.
google avatar

Heidi W.

Yelp
This has got to be the biggest park in town. It sure has everything you would need in a park. They have huge playground areas, lots of grass, trees, a pond, running trail, lots of places to sit and relax as well as a Aviary in the corner on one side that was pretty cool. (There is a fee to enter aviary) There are nice views here too so take some time and walk around the whole park and cross the street and have a nice meal at one of the restaurants around and enjoy nature.
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
Came for British Field Day and learned a lot about SLCs biggest park. There is a lot to do here under a canopy of big old trees great for shade. Paved paths for even rollerblading. There is an ebikes rental place across the road and coffee shops within easy walking distance. There are sand pits for net sports, tennis courts, playgrounds and plenty of parking and picnic tables. O really enjoyed watching all the different ways people were using this beautiful park with friends and family.
google avatar

Alice Y.

Yelp
I am at this park at least once a week, sometimes more than that. For the kids, Rotary Park playground is enormous, with musical toys, lots of slides, many swing sets, multiple sand pits, and a splash pad. Sure, it's maybe not the most best-est new-est terrifically maintained playground, but there is lots for the littles to enjoy and explore. Plenty of large shade trees around and picnic tables to settle down into the a nice afternoon at the park, although the majority of the playground itself is not shaded. There are bathrooms near this playground, which is nice to have. There is another smaller playground toward the northeast corner that tends to be a lot less busy. We used to frequent that one more often when our kids were smaller and more prone to being bowled over by larger kids. No bathroom near this playground, though. There is a large cement biking/walking trail that goes around the whole park, which is terrific for runners, strollers, cyclists, and kids on wheels. Outside of this, there is a wood-chip trail for runners who are wanting to get a more low-impact run. The trail is shaded for almost 60% of its length, making it perfect for running when it's maybe almost a little too hot to be running outdoors. I will stop by Liberty Park just to run here; since it's flat, it's also great for interval work or rehabbing injuries.

Yelp
I love this park. It has something for everyone. There is a big circle going all the way around where you can walk, bike, skate, run, etc.... On the inside, is tons of grass, rolling hills, where I have seen festivals, hammocks, and yoga. There is a fun lake where you can rent canoes. (PS, it is very dog-friendly and we see lots of dogs walking every time we come!) There is a great little farmers market here on Friday nights during the warmer season, which is a lot of fun. We also love going to the tracy aviary and playing sports on the west side of the park. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because I don't always feel safe here. I would probably never come here alone after like 5:00pm because a lot of drugs come out and homeless people hang around here too. I would be cautious to bring kids here too, as I saw a little girl getting eyed by a homeless man last weekend. Like I said, something for everyone, and a really fun place to go that we come to often!
google avatar

Sam B.

Yelp
I love taking my dog to this park. It's huge. The parking is super easy and convenient. Some homeless camped around, but there's enough space to not really notice. There's always a good amount of people, dogs, kids, musicians hanging around to make it feel homey. The bathrooms are currently closed, but the porta-potties are open. There was poop on the seat, and it was quite a feat to keep my dog from sitting while I hovered above the rim. It is what it is. I didn't have to pee outside, so thank goodness for that.

Yelp
I heart Liberty Park! This park is the park to go to in Salt Lake City. It always has people from all walks of life that make it vibrant, spirited, cultured, and busy--there are always festivities every now and then. This park is the perfect place for plenty of things such as: dates, sports, picnics, jogs, roller blading, biking, talking, walking, etc. The playgrounds here are the most fun for kids because some even have water spraying abilities during the summertime! For older peeps, there are tennis courts, basketball courts, and sandy volleyball courts. This park also has a nice medium hill for rolling down right next to a pond with duckies to be fed. Oh, and the Tracy Aviary to go bird watching! Liberty Park is undoubtedly the park of Salt Lake City. Oh, and did I mention free wi-fi? Recommendation(s): If you have younger siblings, playing hide-and-go-seek is a blast in this park. Note(s): Go out for a morning jog and head to The Park Café for breakfast afterwards.
google avatar

Zachary W.

Yelp
This park is a multi use park and is very well maintained and regulated. It's a great place to take your kids to the park or enjoy a family outing many venues within the park for you.
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
Homeless folks aren't so bad. I enjoy how they gather as friends and bbq and they have a head chef guy that is super cool. But, Meth heads yelling and lunging at you sucks! 75% nice of the park is our tried and true sanctuary in the city. The other 25% is trying to not make eye contact with methheads. Bring mace!
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
An excellent park by most measures. It is huge. It is right in the city. Parking is plentiful and close. There is a very wide concrete path around, as well as dirt off-road style running and biking trails. The Tracy Aviary is on-site. Tons of picnic benches and pavilions. Very well-kept grounds. One gigantic play area and one smaller one. Nice big trees for shade. A pond and hill for lazing around. This is not to mention the sprawling splash pad and water feature. Some downsides: The gigantic playground does not have the best design for toddlers. There are too many places where the flow will either put your kid in the path of danger, or force you to go running around huge obstacles while your kid runs away gleefully through kid sized escape routes. Playground 101: Adults need to be able to see their kids and have relatively quick access to them at all times. See photos with illustrations. The transient population seems to respect the park, and 99% of the time they are lounging under trees enjoying some peace and quiet. However, I have seen a homeless fellow walking around brandishing a huge french knife for no apparent reason. There aren't many nooks or private areas. Coupled with the busyness, it's hard to get private moments here. Finally, since it is a big park you're going to have to contend with groundskeeping virtually all the time. This means lawn mowers, leaf blowers, pressure washers, cranes, trucks, little golf carts zipping around and myriad other sources of noise that come with maintaining such a huge piece of property. Overall, a blessing to have such a nice asset in the city and a great destination all its own.

Yelp
Great place for photo shoot and a great walk as well! Great for dogs as long as you have them on a leash and "pick up & clean up" after they poop.

Yelp
Favorite place for a run! Nice paved sidewalk. Lots to do including ponds, different walkways, and Avery. I always feel safe here weather I run at 430 am or 8pm!

Yelp
This is my favorite park in SLC. I loved to come here often when I lived here. I am visiting family & dropped in there yesterday for the African festival. There was a main stage with performers singing & dancing, plenty of food offerings (I got a combo platter from the Somalian booth with chicken, rice, potatoes), & shops with African merchandise. There is always something happening at this little gem. There is a large track that rings the park for runners, several tennis courts, a swimming pool, aviary, concession stand, small amusement park with a few rides, a lake with paddle boats, a couple of playground areas, & a little creek/ wading area. There is a drum festival here every Sunday...the air is thick with the smell of various herbs & spices. It is a haven for the homeless who generally congregate in one area & leave folks alone. I know this as my nephew has chosen to adopt this "carefree, nomadic" lifestyle & calls this park his home. I will definitely visit this park on each visit to SLC.

Yelp
One of the best city parks anywhere! My husband and I had the privilege of living right across the street for a year when we lived in SLC. In this one park, you have: - tennis courts - a swimming pool - a large pond - a paved track AND a mulch track around the park - an aviary with its own cafe - multiple pavilions for picnicking - tons of greenspace for any other outdoor activities! All this with the backdrop of the Wasatch mountains. Truly, it's a gem. Every city should have a park like this.

Yelp
Liberty Park is my favorite downtown park to walk around all year round! It is close by so I frequent when my pup needs to go on a walk. On the south west end there is an aviary, where you can go for the day to look at birds! I do love this park but the only probably is that it can get very crowded on weekends, especially in when there is warmer weather! If you want to do, be sure to be there early!

Yelp
Hmmmm, what to say? Um, really it depends on whether there is an event going on here or not. There are some nice areas, and if there's an event, usually a large crowd shows up and it's a pretty fun venue. However, there are also a lot of homeless people who have tried to live here in the past. I hope the city has worked to house them and provide solutions.

Yelp
What a fun place to spend an afternoon with tons of activities to do. Other than the occasional unruly homeless person I have ran into this park it's great. They have the Tracy aviary which is decently priced. In summer months they have water (not the pond) you can play in. A large park with swings and slides. A huge loop around the outside for joggers. Overall anything you would want in a park. My biggest downside is parking can be a beast at times.

Yelp
Short and sweet. This park is a treasure to the level of Central Park in NYC. No, it's not 10% of Central Park, but it's our place. Tracy Avery is fantastic. The Chase mansion has had many interesting events and exhibits over the years. This is the place people gather for the Sunday drum circle. Generally, it's the places for small groups to gather. The walking path is heavily used. There are interesting restaurants around the park. Other parks may be popular, but this is the park that attracts the locals to enjoy outdoor activities.

Yelp
Liberty park is an oasis of lush green fields, sky scraping trees, and winding walk ways. It is the park of all parks. A mecca for people to walk their dog, roller skate with their friends, and gather for summer picnics. The northern entrance stands with giant flower pots that over flow with blossoms in season. The parking loops around to the other end of the park and is usually full, so check the Tracy Aviary parking lot for more spots. If you're unfamiliar with what the Tracy Aviary is, it is a bird sanctuary. Filled with countless birds of beauty and wonder. There is a relatively new children's play ground located at the north-east side of Liberty Park. As you walk to the middle of the park you will find a kiddy pool that has streaming water flowing down narrow steps that collects all together to make any young child glee.
