7 bookstores, libraries and literary landmarks in Paris for bibliophiles to bookmark - SilverKris
"Tucked into the elegant Galerie Vivienne, this charm-filled bookshop dates back to 1826 and evokes Belle Époque Paris: its cosy interior and shelves of antique volumes and vintage magazines make it easy to imagine literary salon life, and its former incarnation attracted writers such as Colette." - Olivia Ho
This tiny bookstore houses vintage books inside, beautiful to look at. Most of the book collection is located outside including thrifted books and postcards. The cashier there, an older man, was very sweet!

Dreamy bookstore for dreamy bookworms!
If there is a place made for lingering, this is it. Buy postcards, browse books, talk to the charming owner and then sit at a nearby cafe and write postcards to far flung friends as you try to capture the magic of what you just saw.
I could spend hours....

Is the most beautiful bookstore I have visited. The old smell in the Librarie reminded me of the library at my boarding school which I went many years ago. The shop was opened in 1826 and passed down from the owner’s grandfather to his father and to him. We asked him if he has any book in chess and right away he showed us the one and only book he has on chess. It was a beautiful vintage book. The owner knows every book he has in the Librarie, his brain is like a computer!! I was able to find a beautiful vintage map and a few other precious items in his beautiful shop. I love this shop and can stay here for days to just look for books and items that I love. I will come back everytime when I’m here in paris!!

Loved this pretty old bookshop, a big variety of wonderful postcards with Paris views, which I haven’t seen much around. The owner is very friendly, enjoyed talking to him! Bought a cute tote bag.

Famous French artists and writers such as Jean Cocteau and Colette are said to have been frequent visitors to this gorgeous bookshop. Every nook and cranny seems to be packed with books, and you are just enveloped in that delicious old book smell (think subtle vanilla). You'll find some very special gems; I'm now the very delighted owner of a 1st edition limited print of Jean Cocteau's collection of poetry titled "Opera". The owner is very nice and patient, he let me browse to my heart's content and took the time to tell me about my purchase too. Of course I had to get a tote bag as well! I plan to return to browse every time I find myself in Paris again.

I found a book here, there is a nice small but educated selection of old and used english books. The location is also really nice to combine with a nice walk around some of the nicest areas in the center. Owner was very helpful as well.
