Grand Cayman Travel Guide

"A literary-themed cocktail bar known for curated, story-driven drinks that aim to evoke moments in history; signature offerings include an E. Hemingway Special made with 1932 Bacardí rum, and the program is presented as a thoughtful mixology experience rather than a run-of-the-mill hotel bar." - Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila Carley Rojas Avila is a bilingual travel writer, editor, and content marketer. Once in a lifetime experience. Truly one of the best most creative bars anywhere. The menu is incredibly unique and all of the bartenders are incredibly knowledgeable. The passion oozes from this place and the vintage liquor and liqueur menu is really unparalleled. I tried a 1938 Cherry Heering and it was perhaps the most memorable experience I’ve had at a bar. Really incredible, and the way the drink menu is built around stories is done masterfully. Must do on Grand Cayman!

Amazing experience. The cocktails were so well crafted and unique. They were based on different pieces of literature which was cool. Our bartender was very knowledgeable and we had a great experience! They also had some light live ambiance music

The drinks were fine. Nothing impressive. I wouldn’t say it’s worth the premium. But definitely good place to go for the vibe and might as well have some drinks.

The most amazing cocktail experience. Super friendly. This bar and Door #4 are some of the best cocktail bars I’ve ever experienced (including NYC). This island’s cocktail scene is one of the best in the world. Trust me, this bar is insane.

Excellent and unique spot for elevated craft cocktails. Incredible attention to detail in every drink. Unusual and unique flavors and concoctions. Highly recommended for anyone looking for excellent drinks and great service. Food was also outstanding.

Great night cap. Beautiful live music. I believe the singer was Irish/Scottish. Her voice was so beautiful. The signature drinks each had a story and nicely illustrated in a book. The staff explains each drink and tells you the story behind the drink.

This was an unexpected find and a complete delight for two English majors from long ago. The service is something you don’t find in today’s world- bartenders who want to take time to tell you stories of history, art, and literature. The cocktails are all original and delightful. The food is perfect for a night by the sea. I would recommend traveling to the Caymans just for this library.

OMG you guys… this is officially the best cocktail bar in the Caribbean for a reason. The signature cocktails are expertly crafted based on stories from movies, books and fairytales. They’re are exquisitely presented and each is delightfully delicious in its own right. The top picks between us were a riff on a martini modeled after The Witcher and an apple highball that was fantastic. Other hits included the Hemingway (also available for $18 with today’s ingredients) and the peanut butter and jelly old fashioned based on IT. The vintage spirits are a fantastic addition. We tasted through bourbon from the 60’s and 70’s including Michter’s, Old Granddad, Four Roses, Jim Beam and Old Overholt Rye. Each was a time capsule of something amazing from the past that cannot be found today. Also tried a Glenmorangie 10 yr scotch from 1980 that bore no resemblance to the current offering and did not disappoint at all next to the other vintage spirits. If I could, I’d spend every day here, but was so fortunate to be able to enjoy it for one week with good friends on our vacation together. If you’re a cocktail or vintage spirits fan, this place should be on your bucket list. Highly. Recommend!!!
