A beautiful library, both inside and out. It has a large terrace and a bee colony, perhaps the most beautiful detail of all. It has a spectacular view and the staff is very friendly. The children's room is full of games and materials. It seems to be one of its strong points. If you're passing through Salt Lake City and you like books, a stop here is highly recommended.

Don't leave your scooter or bike unlocked At the bike rack. there's a good chance some homeless person is going to walk away with it. the library security can't do anything about it.... Just thought I would warn you. Have a wonderful day.

Fun downtown spot for most of the festivals that hit Salt Lake City. Parking can be tricky, but there are hundreds of scooters you can rent of you have to park far away.

This is the best library I’ve ever been to by far!! First, the architecture is stunning. Every angle that you see it, from the outside AND the inside, is simply breathtaking! Second, their selection of books, movies, music, games, etc goes above and beyond any public library I’ve ever been to. If you can think of it, they probably have it. Third, if you have children, this library is bursting with opportunities for learning and play for them. They also have a program where they give snacks to kids between lunch and dinner in an effort to address child hunger in our community. The kids area is in the lowest level, which is brilliant because it allows the children to be as loud as they want without echoing throughout the rest of the building- but it doesn’t feel like a dark and creepy basement because they have these huge floor to ceiling glass walls that let in the natural light. There’s a forest-themed puppet play room, giant cheese boards, lounge areas with computers and iPads, and so much more. I believe there are several STEM and arts programs that kids can attend for free! I’m happy to have this resource available to me and my community. Thank you SLC library!

My favorite library not only because of its magnificent architecture but also because of its awesome book selection, frequent events and welcoming environment. It’s one of the only places I actually felt safe in SLC. I’d spend hours here reading or just being on my phone when I wanted to get out for a while.

I spent a lot of time at the downtown City library and I am still fascinated by the architectural design, it's an amazing building! The layout inside is amazing they are free computers, a life-size chess board, digital card readers for checking out and the best staff you could ask for!
