Love this shop! I've been going to Lichen for years and somehow I'm just writing this! (oops) They are only open a couple days a week, but the way they curate the shop makes it so it's worth pulling up every weekend! The store is different even Saturday to Sunday, but the crew is always giving the same great service and the vibes are always immaculate! Everytime I go it just feels so relaxing.. I'm like.. I should work here.. But I already have a job... and I'm not qualified. Gotta shout out the owners Ed & Jared cause the staff aren't really "salespeople", they all create and are a part of the overall vision so it never feels like high pressure sales (even though it could cause stuff gets snatched up fast so if you love something you'll want to hop on it). Instead the vibe is welcoming and interactions with staff are bigger than just making a sale. Over the years I've built relationships with them, not just bought beautiful things. They have several in-house designs / brands like Fragile Glass by Eric (<3) which makes fragrance products like candles and incense. I'm obsessed I have more in my home than I should admit and I've mailed candles to many family members (what an easy gift) Alvaro, one of their designers, makes a ton of great products that are super functional and just make sense to have in the home. We have one of his sconces and now want more. it gives a great mood lighting without having to have special bulbs and an app (lol) Anyways! Attached is a photo of my sweet couch I got there that my dog isn't allowed on.

I live in a building close to your store. Your late night events are dreaded among your neighbors. Our building is mostly people who work early jobs (most of our tenants work in construction and cleaning work) and we are absolutely fed up with people scream talking under our window late at night. From what I see on your website you are about harmony and rethinking every day items, Maybe you could apply that philosophy to respecting people who are from this neighborhood you decided to open shop in. We might not be cool enough to buy your furniture, but we deserve sleep.

Lichen is the place to go when you're looking to make your home homey. Lichen is also the place to go when you are looking to feel at home. The Lichen owners, Ed and Jared, with the support of their staff offer and create beautiful, unique, and fairly priced items, while supporting emerging designers. You can pay them a visit during their working hours or during one of the variety of community-oriented events they organize. You can always expect a fun, diverse, and inclusive crowd at Lichen!

Designs are aesthetically pleasing and we love their bamboo divider so we bought one. Customer service was not good at all, we went there and just showed us the piece and left us without even saying anything.

Lichen is a beacon for the community. Not only do they have the best curated furniture, but their events and community gatherings are the best. Love the owners, staff, and eve the folks that shop there. One of my favorite places to visit, and recommend them to anyone wanting to check out Brooklyn.

Lichen offers intriguing discoveries every time I pay a visit, and it seems my friends share the same sentiment. The diversity and uniqueness in their furniture curation are truly commendable. I'd also like to extend my appreciation to Lichen for actively supporting emerging designers – a big shoutout to them!

Love this place and am always so excited to visit and see what new pieces they have (like this dream ligne roset couch pictured here). Lichen’s items have a really good range of prices since they make some items in-house, and the rest aren’t overpriced like many other shops in the neighborhood.

The designers at Lichen are talented in terms of styling and getting the feeling of the time but the items that they make themselves have dismal built quality. This is evident for anyone who looked at enough high-end design over time or even if one compared their own items with some iconic pieces on the floor that they are reselling. The pieces they make are basically almost raw prototypes what one would make in design school (sold at full price) that should be given to a fabricator to produce a quality item from. I always laugh the 5 star ratings by clueless local guides.
