This is a great venue for business meetings. The location, lobby, guest rooms, and grounds are inspiring and wonderful. The food and beverage options at Timbers have been elevated over the years and the menu, food, and service were all very good. Sara led our group in a mixology class to learn bartending skills and how to make different craft cocktails. She was very knowledgeable, fun, and enthusiastic. Everyone really enjoyed our time at Lied Lodge this year and we look for doing this again soon. I would like to bring my family to enjoy the lodge and the pool this winter.

We had a great time at the Lied Lodge! Beautiful Accommodations, good food, great drinks and great walking paths! We spent my birthday weekend here and treated our selves to chocolate covered strawberries and apple cider mimosas! It was perfect!! We utilized the indoor fireplaces and the outdoor firepit! It was exactly the weekend getaway we needed!

This is a nice Nebraska Gem. Great bar, Pool, and Hot tub. Beautiful outside during the fall months with the leaves changing colors. The rooms are big and spacious. My wife and I went for a weekend getaway. With over 150 rooms this place was booked out for the weekend. We will be going g back again in the future.

I didn’t mean to write such a lengthy review but here we are! My family and I spent two nights at Lied Lodge to explore all that Arbor Day Farm had to offer. The best part of staying here was all of the trails on the property and the gorgeous views especially with the changing colors of fall. The pool was also very nice, more than your average holiday inn pool. I don’t regret taking the trip because the daytime experiences and the property were worth some of the troubles we ran into, though they were quite notable. The first two things we noticed when we walked into our room upon checking in were 1. The rooms were pretty cramped with only one spot that had enough space for our pack n play and 2. There was dang near a fly infestation. I’m not exaggerating when I say my husband killed at least 15 flies upon our arrival with more still present. He then went on to kill probably 20-30 more flies in the rest of the time we stayed. They just kept coming out of nowhere. We received a text in the middle of the following day (so just before our 2nd of 2 nights there) asking how our stay was going. I was honest and to their credit they offered to change rooms but we were already settled and if there are flies in one room could there be much difference in another? We spotted an abundance of flies of multiple varieties throughout the property in general so I didn’t want to haul our stuff to another room and have the same problem. Our last major issue was overnight the second night. Our older daughter woke up and got sick in the second Queen bed. We stripped the bed and called for a new fitted sheet. The person bringing the linens didn’t even know what a fitted sheet was. He came to our door three times with completely incorrect linen items, each time talking louder and louder while our one year old was still asleep, and woke her up the final time he came. Overall I’m not sure that we would actually stay at Lied Lodge again. It was overpriced for what you received even with their weekday discount deal they were running. Not to mention several of the experiences at Tree Adventure were not even available during the week. The only place to eat breakfast and dinner with kids onsite was pretty expensive and not all that kid friendly. If I did it again we would make a day trip to do Tree Adventure and Arbor Lodge Mansion on the weekend so we could get the full experience, eat lunch at Porters, and head home for dinner and to sleep in our own beds.

A wonderful get-away that is closer than you think. It was an easy drive from Kansas City with a side trip to view the migrating birds at Loess Bluffs. There are wonderful trails all around the Lodge, and plenty of places to sit and contemplate nature. I suggest avoiding Monday as most restaurants were closed - and note when the Mansion is open as that would have made our stay complete.

We reserved two rooms and planned to meet dear friends for a visit. Our friend is battling cancer and has been given a couple more months, so this trip was especially meaningful. The afternoon that we were meeting, the Lied Lodge called to tell us they were canceling our reservation because they had “guests who wanted to extend their stay.” They said they had rooms for us at the Holiday Inn Express. WHAT? They were completely serious! So we drove several hours to see our friends, because of course we did. But we stayed in the dumpiest HIE we have ever stayed at. The staff was nice, but the room was not. It was musty smelling with mold on the ceiling and a stain on the sheets. Unbelievably horrible service from Lied Lodge. They were very dismissive of our situation with an “oh well” attitude. They gave us vouchers for a future stay. Well our friend will not be here to use a voucher in the future!!! And you better believe we are not about to plan a trip knowing how we can expect to be treated by the management of the Lied Lodge.

I'll try and give a balanced review. First off, our waitress, Madison, at the Library Lounge was exceptional! She was professional, yet friendly. The food was mostly great. The pool and hot tub were also magnificent. Now for the bad: my wife and I were there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, so we wanted a special experience. When we booked the stay dates, my wife also booked for us each a massage at their spa. We showed up at 10 am on 9/22 for our massage sessions, only to find out from the spa attendant that no appointment had been made. So apparently, whomever my wife spoke to at the front desk never bothered to record our appointments in their system. It was our 25th Anniversary! The spa attendant, nor the front desk staff, offered to squeeze us in at the end of the day or to fit us in for massage appointments on an alternative date while we were there. Disappointing! The cleaning crew never changed our sheets, nor emptied our trash. We had to contact the front desk twice to get the room phone fixed or replaced. We figured the room phone would be the easiest way to call and order room service, that's why we wanted the phone fixed. Just ridiculous.

It's was a birthday celebration! My husband took me to dinner at the Lodge. We plan on going back out and booking a room in the near future. The trees and atmosphere is so pretty! You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
My family and I stayed the night here in the summer and had the best time! The hotel staff were warm and welcoming and gave us our room assignment. We booked a patio walk out and I am so glad we did! We loved our room, the ceilings are sky high and the double doors let in a lot of natural light and there is a cute patio where you can look out into the tree line. The hotel offers a pool and a hot tub. We spent a lot of time in that area at night. Dinner at Timbers was great, with a variety of food options and service was stellar. Morning coffee off of the lobby was beautiful, overlooking the hazelnut fields. There is a huge parking lot, and cute gift shop inside as well, where I snagged a completely unnecessary, but cute coffee mug and coffee grounds for home. We spent a lot time walking through the trails and trying out things on the farm. This is a really great spot to take the kids with tons to do, see, and eat. We can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I've visited the Lied Lodge a few times - during the Apple Jack Festival and for a work event I attended. I've never gotten to stay overnight there, but everything I have experienced has been amazing! The Lodge is beautiful inside with a grand entrance hall and made all of brick and wood. You almost feel like you're in a New England lodge on the coast, but it's right here in Nebraska. The scenery that surrounds the Lodge is gorgeous, with many trails to walk and verdant foliage to see. I've dined at the Timbers restaurant in the Lodge and it's also a high caliber to match the surroundings. If you're visiting Nebraska City definitely check out the Lied Lodge either for just a visit/meal and to see the inside - or to stay overnight!

Yelp
I decided to take a glance of what this facility had in store and oh my goodness, it's GORGEOUS. As an avid reader, I could spend hours here just reading. If was so peaceful and quiet even with a restaurant and gift shop within the same area. The lodge has a beautiful path connecting to the farm, tree adventure, apple orchard, Arbor Day oak, and arbor mansion that is well paved and has bridges making the walk so beautiful. I was appreciative I didn't need a ticket for entry into this building. I highly recommend if you're hoping to look at some beautiful architecture and craftsmanship.

Yelp
Took myself out for dinner at the Library Lounge. All of the staff were super friendly and kind. They just switched up their menu and I tried the Halibut, carrots, and a coco loco to top it off. The halibut was cooker to perfection. The flavors merged perfectly to create something magical in my mouth. The carrots had a delicious yogurt dip. And the coco loco tasted like sunshine and beaches. If you have the time to enjoy a nice evening with surprising tastes and a great atmosphere this is your spot!

Paul O.

Yelp
The overall experience with the staff was not spectacular, meaning, when we aired our grievances, nothing was offered to make it right. So all in all the customer service needs a major upgrade at the Lied Lodge.

Yelp
We love how pretty this hotel is. It gives Disney's wilderness lodge vibes. The staff wasn't super friendly just okay. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and it was kinda bland. You're definitely paying for the views. We came for Arbor Day but it wasn't too busy. The pool was amazing!

Yelp
Super fun one night stay. They were nice and called us as soon as our room was ready. Hardly anyone at the pool. The pool is huge, there is a hot tub and sauna. Kids loved it. The facilities were decorated nicely for Christmas. The staff was great. We enjoyed playing board games by the fire also. Great stay would come again

Yelp
Items worth ordering here are the Filet Mignone, wings, and Red wine by the glass. Onion rings are on point. Service was good just supper busy maybe could have used more staff a couple of times. My friends ordered the short ribs and LOVED it. The drinks are ok, the bar has great bottles so just order it on the rocks. Best bartender in one of the given nights I went here for dinner was the manager, he made two gin cocktails for my friends ordered that were to die for. I ordered a ribeye steak medium rare one night and it was abt 1/2 thick and medium well, I was VERY disappointed. It's a great place to stop for wine or liquor on the rock with some snacks, the devote is cozy cabin wilderness and has a toasted fire place going on cold nights. I recommend a glass of wine in front of the fire.

Yelp
Met with siblings and spouses to enjoy the food and atmosphere during the pre-Christmas time. The Lodge was decorated beautifully and the food was excellent. The service we received from the staff was extremely accommodating. We will certainly return in the future

Yelp
Wow! Absolutely blown away by the atmosphere, service, and quality! I stayed here on a work trip and felt like I was on vacation. Thank you for your attention to detail and incredible service.

Yelp
We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here this week. There were five in our party and we were seated quickly at a nice view window seat. There are some really good options on the menu and we ordered a broad mix of those. All food was fresh and with beautiful presentations . I highly suggest this restaurant, total bill for the 5 of us was about $100 before tip. Very reasonable and fair.

Yelp
Stayed here for a staycation a little bit ago and haven't stopped thinking about Lied Lodge! Kind service, great amenities, and even better food. Seriously, that lunch menu is killer. I'm not a big repeater in life, but I'll be back.

Yelp
The company I worked for right out of college used to book retreats here and after nearly a 15 year hiatus, I decided to book a room for a fun girls weekend with my daughters. We had such a great time. The hotel was clean, updated, quiet and very charming. The large indoor pool and hot tub were wonderful and offered floor to ceiling windows overlooking the grounds. The setting is beautiful - located on hundreds of acres with views of forest and the Arbor Lodge Mansion. They implemented great safety protocols, such as mask requirements for indoor public spaces, one-way entrances/exits, lots of sanitizing stations and all staff in masks. Onsite dining was just okay and the standard rooms are a little cozy, but all-in-all we had a great time and I want to do it again!

Tami A.

Yelp
Stayed there for a girls trip and it was amazing! The rooms were clean and comfy and the staff was super friendly! We ate (and drank) at the Timbers and the waitress was great! She was so helpful with our allergies (gluten, dairy, etc) and the food was great! We booked massages and the therapists were both professional and personable. We walked the trails and the grounds are beautiful! Make sure to visit the Apple House Market for a wine tasting while you're there!!

Yelp
Found someone's eye contacts wrapped in toilet paper under bed sheets and an open wine bottle with heavy dust on the floor behind the bed. Didn't find this until when we were picking up our stuff on our last day of our four day stay. Spoke to front desk and asked to speak to the Manager, John Hilson. The lady at the front desk said she would go let John know as he was in his office. I waited but John Hilson never came out to speak to me. After minutes of waiting, I asked the lady at front desk if the Manager John Hilson was coming to speak with me, she said, no. It doesn't look like it. I asked for the Manager John Hilson to call me to discuss via my phone number on file. I was assured he would and they had the correct contact number for me. Have yet to receive a phone call but I see I was reimbursed $50 off my four nights stay bill. I called to speak with John Hilson and staff said he was in his office and transferred me. No answer and still no phone call even after leaving John Hilson a phone message. This is concerning. Just speaking the truth for everyone to know.

Yelp
About a year ago, I saw a photo of Lied Lodge in a AAA magazine. It was just one picture, but it was a stunning view of their lobby and I was instantly interested in a visit. It's only a couple of hours drive from Kansas City, so we put it on our to-do list. I set up reservations for April 2019 online. I had some issue with their website, but was able to complete the process by calling to get the package that I'd been interested in. They have a lot of options and add-ons. You'll have to read through them and decide which are important to you. Some of them seem a little petty or even unnecessary, but at least there are options. Anyway, I ended up getting sick and had to cancel the April reservations. I actually had several reservations for that road trip and I'll say that this reservation was the easiest to cancel, which I really appreciate. Anyway, October came around and we decided to take a truncated version of our original road trip and spend the day in Nebraska City and the night at Lied Lodge. We were there a little too early in apple season, but I won't say that impacted our stay all that much except for being able to miss out on what was probably bigger crowds of families staying at the Lodge. The Lodge is very pretty, but besides that stunning lobby, there's not really that much to it. It's a huge lodge and you have to walk down these really long hallways with your stuff. The way it's built with the large logs kind of gives you a feeling of being in a coal mine as you hike to your room. Once you get checked in and have a key, there are some other doors where you can park closer to your room, but not all of them are as accessible for those with mobility issues. We chose not to dine in their restaurant so besides standing on the back patio and looking at the trees, that was pretty much all they had for entertainment. There is a pool but we're not really pool people. I guess, what I'm trying to say, is that unless you plan to do one of the dining packages or the packages with entertainment at the Tree House things nearby, you might as well just stay at a basic hotel and come over and look at the lobby while you're in town. Our room was nice, a little small, but we didn't do the upgrade to having an orchard view or vaulted ceilings, etc. We just did a 2 bed room. A lot of the space is taken up by more of those decorative logs. I get it, it's a theme but they take up a lot of space in the room. And one was right outside the bathroom, so you'd walk into it during nightly visits when you don't want to turn the lights on. Ok, so I know some of this description already hasn't maybe sounded the most positive. But, all of those things are just observations that I had, not that it kept me from enjoying my stay. We paid a little more to stay here than just a normal hotel, but I'm okay with that. The part that bugged me the most was our room had BUGS. I guess it was stink bug season and since this is a hotel that wants you to experience nature, they have windows that actually open. There are screens, but they had tears and didn't fit perfectly, so I'm guessing past guests had left the windows open and the little buggers decided inside was nicer than outside. So, I spent a good hour or so of the evening trying to come up with different ways of baiting and trapping the stink bugs that were marching around our room. I finally got one lured into the empty ice bucket, but then realized he/she had other friends crawling around too, so just gave up and let them co-habitate with us. Our room also needed a thorough cleaning. Maybe the bug hunt got me to notice more nooks and crannies, but there were some pretty hefty dust bunnies hanging around on lamp shades and in the vents. The curtains also were quite soiled (the white gauzy curtains). In fact, I don't even want to know what that brown substance was, but it was suspicious and unappealing.

Yelp
The Lied Lodge is among the best hotels in Nebraska that I've stayed in. The service was friendly and professional. The decor is cozy and comfortable with an arbor day theme which is not surprising given that it's in Nebraska City. The double queen room with vaulted ceiling was clean, the beds were comfortable and the view out back was great. We enjoyed the Olympic pool and hot tub. We didn't eat dinner here but we did have breakfast which was good though the food was lukewarm. Beware that you have kids, the French toast sticks aren't really sticks, instead it's an child size portion of the adult French toast. We also enjoyed the library lounge which has a nice fireplace. Out back you'll find a fire pit and hiking trails one of which leads to Arbor Day Farm which has a small market, wine and cider tastings and a barbecue restaurant. This may become an annual vacation spot for us.

Yelp
Made reservations for New Year's Eve dinner for two $80 per person four course meal. Had to wait for a table for more than 30 min. Unfortunately, the food was gross and didn't eat any of it. Filet mignon was very rare when asked for med well. Everything tasted awful. What a waist of money, not to mention New Years Eve. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Yelp
This hotel is the finest in all of Nebraska. The architecture is unique and pure Nebraska. The theme is trees and it is used throughout the hotel. The lobby and bar fireplaces burn real wood. Love it. The pool and hot tub are the gems. Beautiful windows make this space an absolute dream. Brunch and dinner are first rate. Lied Lodge is a super romantic getaway for couples. The weekend we were there, however. a number of families with small children were enjoying the pool. Any review that isn't at least four stars to Lied Lodge is dead wrong.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here the nights of 5/3/24 and 5/4/24. Comments: - very friendly people. - very accommodating people (3 hangers in our room and little coffee, so when we asked for more at the front desk, someone came to our room with more of both very quickly). - easy check in, and done promptly. - clean room. - very tiny room. - had to walk a mile (it seemed) to get to our room. - bed comfortable. - no microwave in room. - no safe in room. - beds were comfortable. - rustic ambiance, which is nice. - slow tub drain, and it didn't operate properly. - toilet paper holder needed to be fixed (by me). But before my fix, it fell to the floor easily. - no space to put a second suitcase (because the room was so tiny). - no bible in the room. - no dirty laundry bag in the room. - the tub was slippery, making for a very guarded use when I showered. No grab bars in the shower/tub. Adequate shower water pressure, but an adjustable head and/or a wand with hose would have been nicer. - room prices are pretty high, and I still don't understand why my first night's stay was about $50 higher than my second (I didn't accept nor understand the explanation given me). - The prices in the Timbers Restaurant at the Lied Lodge were pretty high, but the service and food were very good. One exception, was the inedible piece on my ribeye steak, which caused my teeth to hurt and resulted in me spitting out this piece and putting it back on my plate. The rest of the steak was good. Overall, I give this place 3 stars, due to the aforementioned negatives.

Yelp
The place is beautiful! The service was great and the bonus is that it is part of the Arbor Day Farms. You can walk along through the Hazelnut trees to the Arbor Day farm complex to do some cider tasting, climb into an amazing treehouse experience or visit an outdoor classroom. You can h have some BBQ or eat at the tremendous Timbers restaurant at the Lied Lodge. You can finish the day with a nice massage or a trip to the sauna and indoor pool!

Yelp
What a fantastic experience. I stay at the lodge every time I'm in the area. Doug, Denise and the staff have the truest of understandings of what hospitality is. You have to stay here if you are in the area!

Beautiful location. Kind and friendly staff. Great amenities. Easy access in/out and to other cities. Easy drive from KS. Excellent pool and hot tub. Tree Farm was fun. Would definitely come back for a fall adventure and apple picking.

Yelp
The scenery is what makes this place worth it. The rooms are pretty small but don't plan on spending much time in your room. We spent the majority of our stay on the patio. The lodge was extremely clean and had a lot of COVID restrictions in place. The rooms are a little over priced for how small they were, we spent $200 a night but this was during Apple Jack Festival. I think that if you are staying at the lodge you should get some additional benefits for the festival. We got nothing and you had to pay for all of the attractions.

Tawny M.

Yelp
Stayed here for a wedding and will not be returning. This place was outrageously priced for extremely poor quality. First of all, we paid for a room with two queen beds and got a room with two full beds. Sleeping four adults was FUN. Then, upon our arrival in the room, we discovered that there were no soaps provided in the room, and we were only given two towels. The room was extremely small. So small, in fact, that we couldn't have our suitcases out if anyone wanted to move around the room. The tub was too steep for the elders in our party, too. Extremely disappointed in the amenities as well. What hotel room doesn't have a microwave when they provide a fridge? Save your money. Stay at the Holiday Inn and walk the grounds in the day time.
google avatar

Gina D.

Yelp
The lodge is very nice and clean. The only complaint is the Timber Dining Room staff. They were rude and completely ignored you if you were part of a group event with meals built into your stay. You had to ask for help to get a drink or coffee etc... most places I've ever been to a conference the staff was always very attentive but here, you were made to feel like a bother! One evening some of us decided not to have the built in buffet and order from the menu. We were paying for our meal bc only the buffet was included. We were handed menus and told not to sit in front of the windows bc those tables were not for the group?! What? The conference facility was great, rooms were great, food so-so, and the pool was nice.

Megan G.

Yelp
Amazing place to get out of Omaha for some peace and relaxation! The lodge is beautiful. Clean, welcoming and cozy. I cannot wait to go back in the fall!
google avatar

Maggie F.

Yelp
I was here for a leadership retreat and was amazed by the hospitality we experienced. Meals were served buffet atyle and included dessert bar. We werehere during apple harvest so there was always options that featured items made with apple. The event space was nice and we had access to unlimited beverages (water, fountain soda, coffee) and snacks (again, apples with dipping sauces were always available). The property was beautiful and included a walking trail to get exercise and fresh air. While the olympic size pool is very impressive I was very disappointed with the fitness center (about the size of my room, with only an elliptical, stationary bike and treadmill plus a handful of free weights).

Yelp
Almost feel bad about giving this place a five star rating because more people will find out about it and I want to keep it a secret. But this was such a nice place to stay! Besides a weird issue with water coming back up our sink and then receding, it was a GREAT STAY! The pool/sauna/hot tub were all amazing and open from 5-11. Everything is kept amazingly clean and the employees are all kind and helpful. Of course the real star is the building itself, this place is just beautiful and an amazing place to use as a retreat... What with the walking trail through the trees, the apple farm and barns, the Tree Adventure for kids, and beautiful interior. It was the whole package! We will definitely be coming back if we are in the area. Thanks!

Yelp
My fiancé and I had been looking forward to our visit to Lied Lodge for quite some time. We needed a getaway and were also scouting a wedding venue. For the price of $215/night, the accommodations fell short of our expectations. The staff was friendly and accommodating and we did have a much needed relaxing weekend. The room was nothing extraordinary and honestly I have stayed in chain hotels with nicer, bigger rooms. Additionally the walls were paper thin and we didn't get the feeling of seclusion we had hoped for. Overall, the facility was fine but underwhelming. The most disappointing thing about our trip was the Thanksgiving day meal. There were two meal shifts. One ending around 2:00 and the other beginning at 5:00. We arrived around 5:20 and were seated quite near another party. In fact, all parties were seated on one side of the large dining room. I was hoping they would have spread people out more in accordance with social distancing DHMs. We were told the buffet would be cafeteria style but that was not the case. Instead of being served, we were given latex gloves and told to serve ourselves. The most low key infuriating was the quality of the food. I am convinced we were not offered freshly prepared food but leftovers from the previous mealtime that would have ended 3 hours prior. The dinner rolls and sushi were so dry they literally just crumbled apart. The hot dishes ranged from lukewarm to downright cold. The turkey was of school lunch quality and cold. I even heard an employee whisper to another coworker that the turkey was cold. If I had paid $20-$25 for the buffet I would have just chalked it up to a mediocre meal and been on my way but the Thanksgiving buffet was $48 per person! For that kind of money, I expect quality, fresh food that is at an optimal temperature. We were so incredibly disappointed with our experience that we canceled our dinner reservations for the following night. With that said, Lied Lodge and the Timbers restaurant did not live up to our expectations and we will not be having our wedding there and subjecting our family and friends to low quality, cold food...that could possibly be leftovers from a prior wedding.

Yelp
Lied Lodge is a great place for a serene, peaceful getaway, only 2 hours north of Kansas City. You can explore the Arbor Day Farm, wine taste, get a massage, just to name a few. Their restaurant Timbers great food and was awarded the 2019 diners choice award So much to explore at this venue, a real one of a kind experience.

Yelp
This is a review of the restaurant only. My son ordered the wagyu burger. It was quite impressive, but the bacon slab on it was about 1/2 inch thick and coated with a really sweet brown sugar; way too sweet for a burger. The meat itself had no seasoning and tasted bland. In short, this burger was not worth the $20 we paid. Looks can indeed be deceiving. I ordered the prime rib, medium-rare. It came out brown on the outside and kind of pink, not red on the inside. I took one bite and sent it back asking for the rarest piece they could find. A medium-well piece came back. The waitress had my try a piece. Again, it tasted tough. She said that the meat sits under a heat lamp. Oh, well, that excuses everything. She offered something else, but by this time, my son was halfway done with his burger. I ordered coffee, which was good, not great. The waitress apologized, but could not even comp the cup o' joe. Overall, a one star for the food and an additional star for the nice waitress.

Yelp
Went here for the weekend to see someone graduate. Was pretty happy with my stay. Bartender was super friendly, which is always a nice touch when you're stuck in Nebraska City... you'll need to hit the bar... a lot. The A/C in the rooms were weird, though. I was both really cold and really hot throughout the night. Not sure how that works. Also, wifi only works in the lobby, not in the room we were in. But I guess I'm thrilled that there was some free wifi at all. Did I mention we were stuck in Nebraska City, yet?

Yelp
I stayed at the Lied lodge during the week, and it was very quiet. The pool is wonderful for swimming laps. I had the pool and hot tub to myself. Usually the rooms are overpriced, but I went online and got a hot deal. The room was clean and rustic looking, and the staff was friendly. Upsides: extended hours for pool and fitness facility, free wifi with no password, and beautiful lobby.

Yelp
Beautiful building and setting. Nice spot for a weekend getaway or to attend a work conference. The Lied Lodge expands on nearby Arbor Lodge's tree-centric ethos, as its grounds are expertly groomed and full of interesting trees and other plants, complete with educational plaques. Add in some sweeping views around back and your mind will be relaxed and at ease. Definitely stop by in the fall!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful location! The Friday and Saturday evening wine tastings were an awesome surprise! The housekeeping staff did a phenomenal job in our room. Finally, Tina in the Spa, was very attentive and professional during my massage. Thanks so much for making my 25th Anniversary trip something special!

Yelp
Beautiful place but service is slow. Tried to get a spa treatment but they couldn't locate the spa people. If you advertise spa services then you need to make sure you have them. Rather disappointing.

Yelp
Overall great experience, staff, and food. The rooms were slightly unclean (a few hairs in the tub and stains on pillowcase). That was unsettling but the over the top friendly staff made up for that. Amazing views and a perfect place for a romantic couples evening. Restaurant was some of the best food I've ever had but they should have more vegan and vegetarian options for guests. The hot tub and pool area was not as nice as the rest of the hotel and the water looked dirty. All together it was an excellent weekend and a great hotel with just a few mishaps.

Yelp
I am not sure why the Lied Lodge, Arbor Day Farm and Timber Dining room are all combined into one here. These are all separate, so keep that in mind when reading reviews. First - the Lied Lodge is a newly renovated hotel with a beautiful and grand entry and main lobby. Our room was clean and beautiful and exactly as the website described. The indoor pool, spa and grounds are also as described and very nice. There was plenty of parking and our check in with Nina went quick and smooth. When we said it was our first visit - she gave us some extra details about the property also. There was a large fridge in the room, but no safe. They are environmentally conscious - so I loved that they had a smaller soap to use and will replace towels left on the floor only during your stay. The in room coffee wasn't bad - and there was free coffee in the lobby each morning too. We took advantage of the $7 wine tasting of 4 wines and met some nice people while we all discussed our favorites on the back balcony as we overlooked the 250 acres of trees. Now for the Timber Dining Room - it is a large dining room off the lobby and has large windows that look over the trees on one side and doors that connect the lobby lounge on the other side. We enjoyed a drink in the lounge first and they also offer a small sampling of items off the Timber menu up to 11pm. Nice arrangement of seating and books to read and relax. The dining room didn't have many people eating at 7pm on a Friday night, and our server Nancy didn't seem as attentive as we were expecting for the prices on the menu. I decided to have the $24 buffet that had everything from salad, cheese and crackers, veggies, beef slices and dessert options. My fiancé ordered from the menu and enjoyed his steak, potatoes and green beans with his Tito's martini. We drove around town and realized that the Timber Dining room was the nicest dinner option available, so we had dinner there on our 2nd night too. To our surprise, Nancy remembered our drinks from the night before and was much more attentive on a much busier night. Totally restored our faith and we enjoyed a new buffet option of chicken. When you see that the small town has mostly fast food options - this location is a nice option. The Arbor Day Farm is about a 14 minute walk on a paved and wooden bridge walking path from the lodge. After you pass thru the trees, you walk past a small vineyard and a barn where many weddings are held. The farm has a main entrance into a gift shop where you get to learn about the start of Arbor Day and there are paved paths to a large tree house. There are different foot prints in the path and you get to lift wooden boxes to find out what the prints are - as well as other hands on fun for all ages. At the tree house - you get to decide if you wish to walk further into the woods on a wood chipped path. It says it should only take 30 minutes - but for 2 out of shape adults, on a 97 degree full sun day - it took an hour. There are nice benches all along the path to sit and try and catch your breath too. There are nice art collections all along the path to enjoy also. Once we finished and sat in the air conditioned gift shop for a bit - we went to the green house and selected our free tree to plant at home. We then walked to another building that had more food and wine items to purchase as well as some lovely apple slushies and apple cider. We really enjoyed ourselves and if you have children - it is a must.

Yelp
This place was not all I thought it was going to be. The biggest disappointment was the restaurant. We had terrible kitchen service for one breakfast. It was so bad that they gave 11 of us a free meal. We were also there for Thanksgiving Dinner. The buffet was usually out of things as we went through. When we got to the dessert table it was so empty it looked like it was closed. The inside of this lodge didn't seem to be as big as it looked in the pictures. It was nice but unless you wanted to swim or walk outside in the cold there was not a lot of common space to talk to family and friends. Except for the restaurant... but I already discussed that.

Yelp
This lodge is beautiful and surrounded by nature. The terrace and views are really amazing and what makes this hotel stand apart. Being able to walk on trails and enjoy the environment is great. Now as far as the rooms go, they are average but clean. We were not so fond of the beds. But most importantly the noise you can hear from the hallways is HORRIFIC. There are many families that stay here because of the great indoor pool and arbor day farm, so if you've come here for some relaxation you'll be taking your chances on actually getting some. We were not so fortunate. The three rooms around us were occupied by a very large family with many kids. This would've been fine except the kids ran from room to room throughout the late night slamming doors. We called the front desk but nothing was done. Additionally when asked when we checked out about our stay we told them and got nothing but, "I'm sorry". We're not ones to make a fuss or complain, but we will not be taking our chances again by staying here.

Yelp
GOOD STUFF: Nice and quiet place. Rooms and facilities okay. Clean, welcoming. Relaxing. LOUSY STUFF: Restaurant management is crappy. Hotel desk staff is evil. We were traveling with a group. We had scheduled a group rate. Our group rate was set at a certain rate per night for the hotel. When we went to check out on Sunday, we were charged more--everyone in our group was charged more. The lady at the desk did not care that we had a contract with the lodge on our daily rate and refused to call a manager or fix the problem. Our group will be contacting the management shortly to see if we can resolve the issue. If that does not work, we will have to pursue legal action. I'm sure we will win because we have a signed contract. We will find a different place for our group next year. Sad, because we've come here for some five years running now. To be fair, it's not a bad place to take a family for a relaxing weekend. They just need to hire staff with customer service skills. And until they do that, we will be someplace else. We can't trust them on their rates.

Yelp
Just spent a week there for a conference. The place/ lodge is wonderful. The rooms are outstanding. Beautiful location, nice trails, & excellent place for convention. The only negative was the breakfast buffet was not the best & bar closes at 11:00. But it is a beautiful place and the staff was very nice and it is clean place to lie your head down.

Yelp
My family and I went to the Arbor Day Farm. It is beautiful and so much fun for the entire family. We stayed at the Lied Lodge, and it is a lovely hotel with a beautiful pool and grounds. We will not come back to this location because of the way we were treated by hotel staff. Many young people work at the front desk and the restaurant (hostess) with no customer service experience or training. Even the managers lack customer service, empathy, and common sense. On our last night, my mom fell getting out of the hot tub and could barely walk. I went to the front desk to ask for help and spoke with a manager who told me the best he could do was to give me directions to the nearby hospital. He did not even check on her or send anyone to help. I took care of my mom the best I could, and the following morning I called the front desk to see if I could borrow a wheelchair to get my mom into the car. She was worse, and I needed to take her to the hospital. The employee told me they had a wheelchair, but I had to get it. I left my mom alone in the room, put our suitcases in the car, and went to get the wheelchair. I explained to the manager at the front desk that my mom got hurt getting out of the hot tub, she could not walk, and I needed help getting her into the car. The manager replied, "so how can I help you?" I turned around and left with tears in my eyes (I was so frustrated); I had just told him what I needed. Then, the manager followed me outside and said he wanted to help. So he finally helped me with her. My mom has a broken foot, and no one from the hotel seemed to care.
