The staff here are just delightful. It is a predominantly young staff but they are so professional and attentive right from the reception staff through to the restaurant staff and cleaning staff too. We asked for some soya milk for our room and we have had issues with some hotels wanting to charge for this but it arrived almost immediately. Lovely toiletries too and a fab walk in shower. We had booked a garden room which opened out onto the gorgeous gardens. Definitely make time to take the garden walk; it is really interesting and very pretty and the lakes and waterlilies are stunning. There was no water provided in the room and we were told that they were reducing their use of single use plastics which is great and there were water dispensers located throughout the hotel but you could have a jug or glass water bottle in each room possibly. I was then a little confused when we ordered tea and the tea bags came in plastic envelopes! Our deal|meant that we had a two course dinner included which was absolutely lovely and the portions were so generous I couldn’t manage a dessert. The breakfast too was freshly cooked and there was a nice choice the spa and pool area was lovely too and there were lots of loungers both around the pool and hot tub and outside. The reason for my 4 stars was just that our room was very bland and boxy other than that it was a really lovely short stay. I wish it could have been longer.

On entering the building it is spacious light and airy with soft lights. The receptionists were welcoming and gave concise clear instructions. The massage from Natalie was excellent. Danielle's foot massage was delightfull. I wish had taken the ladies who served us in the dining area was great. They were courteous and friendly and the lunch was delicious! I really enjoyed the relaxation room. At the end of the time and I needed to leave I was wanted to stay. It was a beautiful experience.

Superb spa break but what I really must wax lyrical about is the restaurant!||Tonight, Head chef James Mullenger served up a culinary delight. The fare on offer was a plethora of locally sourced, culinary masterpieces. Each dish was comprised of skilfully selected combinations of elements, resulting in a small menu of consistently well executed dishes.||Unable to wait for the main event, we ordered appetizers. A substantial sharing portion of juicy, green Nocellara olives made the perfect partner to the deliciously dry rose prosecco on offer. Accompanying this we enjoyed provolone piccante, hand cut spicy Italian salami and tarallucci. The salami had deep, rich and complex flavours, the provolone perfectly piccante and the tarallucci was a cheesy, flaky pastry biscuit, that melted in the mouth.||The mackerel pâté special was my most enjoyed course of the evening. A quenelle of deliciously salted mackerel pâté was complimented by bitter leaves, perfectly cooked, earthy fennel, rich pea purée and teamed with the delicate flavour of seared cucumber. However, the pinnacle of the dish for me, was the most incredible, sharp, pickled rhubarb; which perfectly cut through the creamy pâté. The rhubarb, which transpired to have inspired the whole dish, had been picked from a family member’s garden. A truly fantastic testament to the artistry and skill of the head chef, who maintains a focus on compiling seasonal dishes that add interesting and wonderful specials to the menu.||The main course was divine. I do love a steak, but the dry aged sirloin was something else! Set on a bed of cauliflower purée and rainbow chard, it was served medium rare alongside a beautiful sorrel based pesto. Clearly a high quality cut of meat that had been seared exquisitely. A charcoal flavour crusted the outer, whilst the knife slid through the well rested, juicy beef as if it were butter. Spectacular to say the least and by far the single best steak I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Once again, simple food, well executed, the sign of a talented chef who is clearly one to watch.||The wait staff upscaled the already impressive experience, by giving top notch service. They demonstrated excellent knowledge of the menu and wine selection, giving thoughtful recommendations. All of the staff were smiling and friendly, they worked well as a team, keeping the busy restaurant turning over nicely at a pleasant pace. There appeared no intent to rush patrons through their sitting, but service was still attentive and taken at the diners own pace. Attention to detail was superb and clearly high on the agenda. Any allergies were ascertained early and the cleanliness, sleek style and ambiance of the restaurant only served to elevate the whole dining experience. ||Do feel free to let me know when the next special graces the menu. I would love to experience the skilful craft of Mr Mullenger again. Particularly as he continues to develop new additions to the menu, that demonstrate his artistry in developing tantalising offerings, with simple, high quality ingredients.

Had an absolutely lovely experience here. Everything was spotless, the room had a great view over the grounds, and the grounds themselves are beautiful. Cannot speak highly enough of the staff here - without exception they were friendly, professional and helpful. I am on a massively medically restricted diet and they could not do enough to help with options. Huge thank you to the restaurant and kitchen staff for making such an effort to accommodate rather than alienate. We had a fabulous experience, but this level of customer service made the stay 5* for us.

I’ll start with we did have a relaxing overnight break but there were a number of things that could have been done better. On arrival we went to the terrace for some lunch, sandwiches are priced at £22 which I would stay is on the steep side, the sandwiches were nice but definitely not worth the price. We also had a glass of Prosecco with lunch and this was again priced at London prices, the glass was half full so I asked for it to be topped up and was told no! I was told it was the shape of the glass. I will add the evening meal we had was lovely and this does seem correctly priced for the quality of food you get. The next “issue” we had was that lockers are not given out to guests staying in the hotel, you are expected to leave items in your room. There was plenty of lockers available so we could have been given one but was told firmly no but given a paper bag to put our belongings in and leave round the pool area. The next issue was that we wanted an ice bucket for the room, again told no they don’t give out ice buckets or for that matter even a glass of ice. We stayed during hot weather so it would have been good to cool drinks in the room while chilling out and getting ready, as there is no fridge or air con in the room. Overall if you are looking a few simple customer service changes would have made the stay a lot more enjoyable and if you are looking for a budget spa at luxury prices then this is the spa for you.

I had the best massage of my life from the wonderful Rosie, I truly am thankful. Pricing at Lifehouse Spa is reasonable as you get a lot with packages. Food & beverages were delicious. Lots to explore on grounds. Spa facilities were all clean and not crowded so really could unwind. Great staff and atmosphere!

I took my mom here for her birthday and we had the most amazing time. The rooms are beautiful and spacious with French doors opening up so you can sit and enjoy the beautiful views of the manicured garden. You also get a robe and slippers in the room which you can wear to the spa and bar area. The spa facilities were fantastic, a good size pool, two steam rooms, a sauna, plunge pool and a big jacuzzi with relaxation rooms up stairs. The breakfast was great too with a good selection of food.
