Light Years - Byron Bay

What an amazing spot for drinks and dinner! We sat at the bar which I was a bit hesitant about at first… but it was so good! We had great convos with the bar staff and they were so attentive to us. Food was AMAZING! Definitely worth the hype 😍😍

Light Years never misses! We got the basic set menu & it ticked all the boxes. Perfect serving sizes, great range of dishes that covered all the favourites & everything was so good it was hard to pick a favourite. Staff lovely as always.

Was recommended to try the Light Years in Perth but Byron was closer. It was a Thursday night, pretty hard to get a staff members attention and when we did it felt pretty rushed. Food was okay, quite on the saltier side. Kingfish was great worked so well with the coconut. Might give it another chance in Perth.

Had a late lunch here on holiday-did the “chef’s choice@ $69 menu. Delicious & plenty of food. Wine choices a little expensive-not that unusual for Byron though.

*** Highlights: Puts Sydney restaurants to shame. The experience was perfect. *** What we liked: The service was sincere, the rendang was not too heavy on the coconut cream, the firecracker chicken was not oily at all albeit a deep fried dish. The prices are very reasonable. *** Recommended? Pretentious Sydney has a lot to learn. I tipped highest amount possible.

We rocked up to a fully packed Light Years with no reservation, desperate to order all the yummy things we didn’t order when we were last there for lunch. The hostess was SO LOVELY and accomodating. It was 630pm and she said she could only get us a table for an hour before the 730pm booking rocked up. They didn’t have to accommodate us at all and could have easily turned us away, but they were so friendly. The wait staff (we were mainly looked after by a lovely French fella) bent over backwards making sure we got our meals in a timely manner (in a very packed restaurant) and we were only too happy to wolf said meals down, every plate was delicious. The great food and friendly staff and beautiful interiors are all reasons we keep returning each time we’re in town for work. Thanks so much for another delicious meal guys.

De-lic-ous!!! Stupendous even! We’ve been eating loads of south East Asian cuisine, however this truly is remarkable. My girlfriend took me here for my birthday as we had both flown in and we are both well travelled and quite big goodies and we were pleasantly gob smacked. Firstly the yuzu cocktail is Devine, not my normal style and f cocktail as I’m a whisky girl but it still got all ✔️s from me. Then the salmon ceviche is exquisite (make sure you scoop up the sauce with each bite). The kingfish ceviche with the pawpaw salad is a heavenly match and that salad is one of the best I’ve ever had!! Yes a big claim I know!! Whatever you have here, I think you’ll looove’ like we all did. The staff were so helpful. We had my gf’s daughter with us and the staff were super accommodating for her as well. So thanks team for making all our day extra special!

Love love love. The food was outstanding. The location is beautiful with extreme attention to details. The people really nice. We had (in order of preference): MISO CARAMEL EGGPLANT, WATERMELON SALAD, PICKLED PAPAYA & HERB SALAD, TEMPURA HONEY & SESAME PRAWNS. Really tasty mocktails! Lucky for us we had the place all for ourselves.
