Lighthouse Beach Park

This place really took a beating during Hurricane Ian and now Helene and Milton. But it’s still a beautiful place and they did everything they could for a quick recovery. It will never be the same but it’s still absolutely beautiful. Keep in mind there’s still construction going on. Parking seems a bit pricey but it’s worth it. There are also restrooms and showers at the parking lot. This beach is the best one for shelling, that’s for sure!

Long beach line with lots of space. If you are looking for shells or a sunset I'd go to the beaches on the south and west part of the island but this location has better white sand and the bathrooms and parking lot are much closer. Parking is $5 per hour like all other lots-scan the code and pay online. The first pic is sitting in the car and the second pic is in back of the car -much closer than some of the other beaches.

Pretty disgusting beach. Lots of dead fish and crabs stinking up the place from the Lake Okeechobee discharges. And they are still charging $5/hour to park.

Parking was easy Walk to lighthouse is soft sand and easy Restrooms right there. Great beach area, few people.

We arrived by boat, anchored out and transitioned to the beach. Plenty of room and quiet, however the water is not clear and is murkey, minimal shells on the beach, what is what we went there looking for. Hopefully other areas of Sanibel Island are better. We left after about an hour. I would suggest another location more on the gulf side.

Shells, shells, shells! Let me start off by saying that! Showed up at 830am. and got a spot right away as there were plenty of handicap spaces. Walked the beach to find a good spot for myself and let me tell you, after walking up and down the beach 3-5 times and finding beautiful shells after shells, I didn't want to sit down! Little bit of a smell, but that's common with the sealife there. I had no qualms about it, the breeze was cool and lasted all day, the clouds came and went and kept it cool. Enjoyed the food that I brought to the beach alongside my music that didn't seem to bother anyone. They did a phenomenal job of restoring the beach and opening it back up to the public for everyone to enjoy! Pet friendly mind you which it should be. I can't wait to go back again and again! They are doing a great job with repairing the causeways as you can see in the pictures, I had no issues paying a toll knowing that its going to a good cause and that they are doing an amazing job refurbing the way to Sanibel Island!

Don't forget to pay to park. Great beach with lots of shelling, especially at low tide.

This beach and amenities have been brought back to a high standard. Great rest rooms, along with foot washers and outdoor showers. It can be a little challenging crossing the dredge sand, it is super loose and moves at will. The lighthouse is still being worked on, the old buildings are completely gone, as are all the old stumps, which we used to take pictures on. Parking can be tight during busy times. Today was easy to park. Highly recommend this beach.
