Pretty solid experience. Portions were pretty good for the price, a substantial amount of menu variety, very kind and helpful service staff. Food doesn’t look super incredible nor tastes super incredible but for the price it’s quality food with good portions.

I was only in the bay area for a weekend and my friends who live in the bay wanted to take me to Sausalito. We stopped here for lunch around 2 pm. I was so excited to see so many options that were vegetarian friendly, as that was a big issue as we were looking for somewhere to eat. Overall the food was okay. I was kind of disappointed in the idea of this being a "Spanish" omelette (iykyk). The waitress, Alisha, also forgot my toast and my friend's side order of meatballs and we had to remind her. We ate outside and there was a bee that kept landing on our food and interrupting our meal. I asked the waitress about it and she said it regularly happens. The food was good. I can't complain about the flavor. However, as we were finishing up, we did feel a bit rushed when a lady who wasn't even our server came out and asked us to pay and didn't even give us time to discuss whose card we would put it on. She was very insistent in the moment pointing at my friend asking her to pay then and there because it was 2:55 and they close at 3:00. As someone who works in hospitality, this is not the type of service I would expect from such a popular establishment.

This place offers a delightful brunch experience, perfectly blending classic American breakfast staples with a touch of Danish flair. Beyond the delicious food, the service stands out for its attentiveness, ensuring a pleasant and relaxed meal. This place delivers with both taste and hospitality.

After an amazing day exploring the city, we decided to venture over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge to the charming town of Sausalito! We were in a bit of a hurry, but still wanted to grab a delicious bite to eat. Luckily, we stumbled upon this adorable cafe just before closing time! The staff there were absolutely fantastic - they greeted us with big smiles and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I can't even begin to describe how much I loved the steaming hot cup of fresh coffee ☕️ I had there. Even at the end of the day, it was still piping hot and bursting with flavor! Now, let's talk about the burger I ordered. It was a tad on the pricier side, but boy was it worth it! The flavors were incredible and I savored every single bite. My friend also enjoyed her meal - it was just as tasty! Oh, and did I mention they have the cutest little patio? It's the perfect spot to soak in the breathtaking views while enjoying your meal. It's no wonder they've been around for so long - they have an incredibly loyal following! Trust me, you won't be disappointed if you give them a try. I highly, highly recommend this place!

Ordered stuffed hash browns with over easy eggs!! It was delicious!! Staff super nice!! We seated outside at 10 am and the weather was perfect and the terrace super cozy! We waited for 10 min to get a table! Looks like the place is popular…

Google
Food was disappointing. We ordered spanish omelette with side of home fries and toast. The veggies inside the omelette were very oily. Home fries were also sad not nicely grilled or fried with less salt. Salsa was also watery and tasteless. We asked to move the table since the current table had awful smell but server refused and said no moving allowed. Overall disappointing. Will never go again.

Google
The staff were friendly and the food was okay, about what you’d expect for a diner-style restaurant. Nothing tasted too fresh, and they did stack non-stick pans on top of each other. I did very much enjoyed watching the chef prepare the food at the bar.

A beautiful little spot in Sausalito right next to the beach. We absolutely loved our visit after a long walk at the beachfront and had the best brunch and pancakes of our entire California trip. Good service and friendly staff as well. Be sure to pass by if you‘re around the area!

Yelp
friends stopped by the Lighthouse Cafe for breakfast, and it was the perfect start to our day! The food was absolutely fantastic--everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the toast was just right, the German sausage had that perfect snap and seasoning, and the hash browns were crispy and golden, just the way we like them. The service was top-notch--friendly, quick, and attentive without being overbearing. The staff really made us feel welcome, and their recommendations were spot-on. What makes this spot truly special, though, is the vibe. It's got that authentic beach cafe charm, nestled right off the water in downtown. You can feel the laid-back energy of the area while enjoying a hearty, delicious meal. If you're ever nearby and looking for a great breakfast spot with amazing food and an unbeatable atmosphere, the Lighthouse Cafe is a must-visit!

Yelp
I visited the Lighthouse Café after an early morning hike, and it was a refreshing way to start the day. Here's my take on the experience: * Hashbrowns: They were decent, but not particularly memorable. * Omelet: It was fine, but the eggs had a texture that felt a bit artificial. The salsa accompaniment didn't quite suit my taste. * Ultimate Breakfast with Fruit Pancake: This was a highlight! The pancake was sweet but balanced, and I loved the fresh fruit on top. The home fries needed a little seasoning but tasted great after adding salt and pepper. * Orange Juice: A perfect boost after a morning workout--fresh, tasty, and energizing. Overall, a solid breakfast spot with some hits and misses. Would I return? Possibly--for the fruit pancake and a fresh glass of orange juice!

Yelp
Good place serving consistent Danish food. We discovered this place before Covid, when we opted to take a Ferry ride from Vallejo to Sausalito and explore the area near the Sausalito Ferry Terminal. We were initially dubious, as the menu seemed rather limited, but we were game to try Danish cuisine. Since then, we have been back to this venue several times through the years, and to the venue in Corte Madera, which has since closed. Our favorite venue is the original venue in Sausalito even though the vibe here is more of a "hole-in-the-wall diner." On our first visit, we tried the Danish lunch plate and the herring 2-way, and the clam chowder. The Danish lunch plate was more than enough food, especially with the pumpernickel slices. I needed my husband's help to finish my plate, and he was very happy to oblige. He liked his herring plate very much. We both agreed that the clam chowder was good: clammy without too much flour to thicken the chowder. Since then, we have returned and had the same dishes every single time. Perhaps one day, we will try some of the other breakfast items, especially as the restaurant has expanded their breakfast offerings since our last visit during Covid. Additional changes since our last visit: --the cafe has become popular: we never had to wait for a seat in the restaurant; this time, even though there was additional outside dining, we had to stand in line for a table at 12:30 p.m. --there were additional waitstaff: when we came, there was one person working the counter and the tables inside, but this time, there were 2 additional waitresses, both manning both the inside and outside tables. Despite these changes, the food was consistently good (with a $3 increase in price), and the service was efficient and unobtrusive. The tab for the Danish lunch plate, the herring two-way, and coffee was under $50, which is very reasonable for lunch, especially in Sausalito. As we periodically go to visit in Marin, we will probably visit the Lighthouse again whenever we are in the area.

Yelp
The fruit inside the pancake batter is wonderful, go early to miss the lines, great breakfast :)

Yelp
Breakfast here was delicious. Service was great. We took a nice morning walk down the waterside to get here and had a wonderful breakfast experience.

Yelp
Firstly, the lighthouse cafe is so cute!! We got seated quickly, despite how busy it was, and the servers were super welcoming and attentive. Also, the food was delicious!!

Yelp
Food:Good. Fresh. Hot. Walked in, greeted and seated right away on a Sunday morning. The smells were amazing! I ordered the sausage and cheese Omelette. It was packed with three types of sausage, cheese and mushrooms. Home fries were outstanding. I was so very pleased with my choice. Dining partner had eggs over med with toast and the eggs could not have been cooked any better. She was a happy girl! The service was prompt and pleasant. We sat outside on their patio area with perfect weather as passer-bys looked over and drooled as we ate our wonderful breakfast. Was pleasantly surprised to find this quaint little comfortable place to eat breakfast in Sausalito. Stop by and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I usually brown bag it for lunch but sometimes you just need to have some good hot food. This cute place is easy to spot and sparked my curiosity. When I got there the place was busy but there was an empty seat at the counter. The food was good, served quickly, and unusually affordable for a place like Sausalito. I had no problems getting a meal and making it back to my job in time.

Yelp
I'm so glad we decided to get brunch at this breakfast spot in Sausalito! There was a line when we got there (they do not take reservations nor do you put your name in when you get there) just old fashioned wait in line until it's your turn. There's indoor and patio seating. We chose indoor and ordered a the french toast breakfast which was amazing. Their french toast seemed really light too. Loved it. Also ordered the salmon eggs Benedict (The Norwegian Benedict--if you see in the photo I had already sliced into it because it looked so good haha) I'm not a hollandaise girl but this one changed my mind! At first the server said they were out of the hollandaise but I still ordered it anyway then later she came to our table saying they had some and if I wanted it added. I thought that was so nice. If you want classic diner food and great service, come by to the Lighthouse cafe you won't be disappointed! I will definitely be back and may have to try their Danish menu items!

Yelp
Been here multiple times and have enjoyed the food and the people here. Great atmosphere and fantastic service all around! Came here on an afternoon and it was still busy. Got the lighthouse omelette with hash browns and sourdough bread and wow! Such basic ingredients made into the delicious meal! The eggs were super fluffy, melted with cheese, and paired so well with grilled onions and ham. Every bite was so flavorful. And their hash browns were so crispy! While every ingredient was so delicious, I will say their sourdough bread was the star. Literally just bread, but made fresh. It was so freaking good I could not believe it. Must get the sourdough bread!

Yelp
The service is fast and the food is diner quality. There is limited seating so be aware of possible wait. Luckily for us there was no wait. There is a single person bathroom in the back. Yikes, my son and I sat at the bar and when we were leaving I asked for the check for my son and I and the manager, lady, combined our bill with friends and charged 20% tip. They said they charge a service fee of 20% of parties of five, when there isn't even seating for parties of four or more. again we were sitting at the bar and I asked for my son and I bill but we sat separately and didn't even order together. Unfortunately it left a bad taste with our friends who regularly come here when we visit. To top it off the locals were disgusted when the manager decided to start yelling when asked why our bills weren't split and why we were charged a service fee of 20% without our knowledge or any signs posted. The locals said they hadn't heard of that. Oh well.

Yelp
Ahoy, mates! Set yer sights on the Lighthouse Cafe, a gem nestled right by the Sausalito marina. With the wind in yer sails and the sun on yer face, you'll be treated to delightful Danish additions at this fine American establishment. Our brunch was a grand mix of Danish and Hispanic flavors--a beautiful ensemble, indeed! The patio experience is top-notch, perfect for soaking in the amazing weather. After yer feast, enjoy a leisurely stroll with yer canine companions. This spot's a must-try for sure!
google avatar

Dee N.

Yelp
The line moved quickly, food was hot & plentiful. Beautiful day to sit and eat breakfast. Not a large space so expect to wait a bit for larger parties. There is also a counter if it is just 1 or 2 of you.
google avatar

Debbie B.

Yelp
If you're looking for the quintessential diner experience, you've found it. We love sitting at the counter so we can watch the mastery of the griddle. The veggies were so fresh in the scramble. The ham and cheese omelette was delicious too, they didn't murder it with cheese and the mushrooms were exactly what the denver omelette has been missing its entire life. Sourdough bread is sliced to order. And the staff works together to keep your coffee filled and deliver breakfast while it's HOT. Alicia, thank you for the true hospitality, you're the best!

Yelp
Went here on a whim and was so happy I felt adventurous enough to try the stuffed Hash Browns. Loved it. Thanks

Yelp
Came here Sunday around 11:30. There was a line, but it moved quickly. Service was friendly. Always love the sausage scramble here! It's great with the sour dough or English muffin. This time we tried the burger which is also quite good! Great food, cute place, and friendly service!

Yelp
Sit on the patio and enjoy an amazing brunch with some unique menu items. I got the French toast with the fruit flambé (definitely do this as an add-on), and the 2 types of herring (pickled herring and curry hearing). Both were great dishes and each balanced each other out. The ambiance here is also super cute, as it has an old diner feel.
google avatar

Anthony H.

Yelp
Great food, view, price and exceptional service. Worth the walk from the ferry and highly recommended. I got the pickled herring which although a little basic was very tasty if they elevated it a little bit with something unique that would be awesome. My wife got the French toast with the flambé fruit, and that was excellent, truly above and beyond.

Yelp
It looks like a tourist destination but did you know they have a really lovely menu? They Swedish breakfast with curried herring is so great for the first meal of the day. Enjoy coffee and a midweek newspaper break. They have a side patio for outdoor dining, but it's fastest to get a counter seat. They can be really busy so this isn't a place to grab and go. Take your time and enjoy Swedish pancakes or traditional gravlox.
google avatar

Aaron Patrick B.

Yelp
Amazing food, small intimate cozy space. Worth the wait. Great service. Eat there often but not often enough!

Yelp
We came on a Saturday, weather was so nice and the wait was not that long, we were seated at the counter, we enjoyed watching the chef preparing the food, it was fun watching.(we changed our orders after seeing the chef preparing some yummy looking food ) Here is our final orders: Crab & Lobster Melt Norwegian Benedict (smoked salmon) Corn Dog Hash All of them are delicious. I requested the hash brown to be more brown perhaps they forgot it, other than that, the food was yummy. I have also requested the muffin to be put on the side and they did it correctly. Will come back and highly recommend.

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood for work, after a long drive I needed some fuel. So glad I gave the Lighthouse Cafe a shot. Will be back for sure. Small Diner, 9 stools and 5 tables l. You can watch them cook your food. The Coffee was great, hot and my cup was never empty. I ordered the Veggie Scramble, with Marble Rye toast and Hash Browns. It was delicious, best breakfast I've had in several months. No salt or pepper needed, no sauce, just a delicious Scramble with fresh vegetables and bright yellow eggs. It was busy when I was there but no tables had to wait for anything. Stop by and enjoy some delicious food, I was expecting Fuel, but I got so much more.

Yelp
Loved this spot for a casual breakfast in Sausalito. I ordered the Ultimate breakfast with bacon, hash browns, sunny side up eggs and a mixed fruit pancake. Hearty and filling breakfast that was absolutely amazing. The waitress was super friendly and accommodating. It's a tiny little diner and I loved sitting right at the countertops. Nice and quiet, near the water, and friendly staff. Great place to start your day if you are in the area.

Larry R.

Yelp
Food was great, I had the ultimate so I could try a bit of everything. I really liked the home fries, bacon, sourdough toast. The scrambled eggs were fine, but I am spoiled I usually get them with cheddar cheese and mushrooms. The reviews made me want to try the raspberry pancake, especially when she said they were fresh. They added like 10 berries to the pancake right after it was poured on the grill. It was good too, did taste a bit like jam, I would have finished it if I did not have so much to eat. Cute small place, I sat at the empty counter rather than take the last table. I noticed they were setting up the outside tables as I left. Street parking was free before 9. Service was friendly and quick.
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Cute breakfast and lunch place in Sausalito across the street from the marinas. Typical order is around $20 plus tax and tip.

Leigh Ann A.

Yelp
Husband and I ate here on a Sunday morning. Despite being pretty busy we had no problem getting a table since it was November we were willing to eat outside. The inside is pretty small but the whole place has that great old classic greasy spoon diner feel, exactly what you want in a breakfast place. Food was good quality and good portions, and service was great.
google avatar

Vaishnavi A.

Yelp
This place is a good breakfast spot for a weekend brunch. We were here on a cloudy morning and the outdoor seating was really good. The menu is soooo much egg. They have everything that's possible in an omelette. There was huge wait time to get the seating and the time to get the food after order is also high. The service was okay, except for the very rude behaviour about the tip. Orange juice - not freshly squeezed. It's bottled and it's okay. Hot chocolate- too sweet to my taste and very thin. It could've been a little thicker. California florentine omlette - it was good. The gas browns are tasty, but the quantity is really less for the price. Veggie burger- the salad was just lettuce and couple of tomato slices. The Pattie is good with caramelised onions and mushrooms. It was bland for my taste. So, I ended up adding a good amount of Tabasco sauce, at the end it tasted good. We had bacon for our pet. He enjoyed it well.
google avatar

Shinny L.

Yelp
Another local favorite, very cutely decorated inside - old diner style. Food is greasy spoon style, generous portions. We had the oatmeal, 2 egg and ham steak, a side of bacon, and some wheat toast. The hash brown was a bit undercooked (not crispy) but my kid ate the whole thing so it must have been good. The bacon was spot on - very crispy, nice thick cut and Smokey. The ham was a bit dry but again happily gobbled by the little one. However, I ordered the eggs over medium and it came over Easy which was very disappointing. My sister had a veggie scramble which she enjoyed and the home fried potatoes looked good if that floats your boat. The service was decent - I think we got there a bit early but the person still helped us and was cordial. Note that the juice is served in a long glass cup - not great if you have a very young child but mine was able to handle it.

Dakoda B.

Yelp
Ambiance is great, very friendly staff. Food is so yummy and they have a sauce called the pepper plant, and it's so good.
google avatar

Veda F.

Yelp
I've been going to the Lighthouse cafe for 20 years. I am always greeted by a friendly smile and the breakfast is a good value. I'm happy they serve Earl Gray tea along with morning coffee. The food is fresh tasting and never left over or stale tasting as some breakfast potatoes can taste. The pancakes are highrising and fresh and the toasted sandwiches are made to order. The is a wonderful place off the main drag that has good food. I would recommend this Cafe if you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track.

Yelp
Adorable diner right off the water. Super friendly staff and amazing food. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Worth the wait! We went on a Saturday morning around 9am and there was a short line. It moves pretty quickly so don't give up. Service was great. The banana pancakes were delicious and gigantic! The stuffed hash browns were my favorite. Crispy bacon which I love was included. The portions are very generous and you'll leave very happy! I wish I had taken pictures of the food. Definitely going back!

C H.

Yelp
Great little local diner type cafe. We stopped here when taking some out of town guests to Muir Woods. It was a perfect stop after the drive from South Bay to get some breakfast before the last 20ish min to Muir Woods. Service was fast and efficient. Food was served quickly and was very good. Excellent and crisp hash browns, spicy chorizo, eggs perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend the Mexican scramble and the stuffed hash browns.
google avatar

Kat T.

Yelp
This is a great locals diner with tables and counter seating. We needed a late lunch meal and were only too happy to sit at the counter and watch them make our food. We decided to split "Annette's Scrambled Eggs" which was more than enough for the two of us. Everyone was warm and friendly. This is the kind of place everyone wishes was right around the corner in their neighborhood. If you come for breakfast on the weekends it is VERY busy so be prepared and be patient.
google avatar

Yelp
Eat their several years ago. When there because their food was good and yes it was Great again. I will return again, Great place

Yelp
Nestled by the shore, the Lighthouse Cafe is a haven of charm. Its panoramic views, paired with delightful aromas of freshly brewed coffee, create a serene retreat. A culinary gem. Service is charmingly warm!
google avatar

Miranda H.

Yelp
Had a great brunch at Lighthouse cafe. We couldn't decide what to eat because everything looked delicious as we were waiting on a table. Small restaurant with limited seating but definitely worth the wait. Only waited about 10 minutes or less for a table. Would definitely return and bring my friends and family
google avatar

Gina D.

Yelp
The food was very good, the service exceptional, and the price very reasonable. I would definitely eat here again. We sat outside which was very pleasant.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was great but the service was even better. Everyone was so sweet and kind to me as a solo diner. It was truly a classic diner and the decor was great! I would highly recommend visiting!

Yelp
We had heard good things but wound up disappointed for the following reasons: 1. Corned beef has stated it had jalapeños in it but had too many bell peppers instead and NOT enough corned beef! 2. The Huevos Rancheros was sooooo lackluster with an uncooked tortilla, NO guacamole (We asked for some but we're told they didn't have any and offered sliced avocado) and no regard for any type of presentation. 3. The bacon avocado omelette was very underwhelming. The bacon was sub-par and way overcooked and the avocado was nearly non-existent. 4. They had no de-caf coffee we overheard and the regular coffee was blechh! 5. Both the plain (non-fruit) pancake and the syrup had ZERO flavor. 6. The stuffed hash browns came with slimy carmelized onions and the scrambled eggs were undercooked. On the positive side, the servers were very attentive, the bread options were very good. All in all, we would have saved a lot of money and had a better meal at a Denny's!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was great. The outside seating area is nice and gets crowded. I recommend Lighthouse Cafe.
google avatar

Cynthia E.

Yelp
I had a great experience here! The waitress was super friendly and accommodating. It's a tiny little diner and I went super early around 7:30am. Loved it because it was nice and quiet and near the water and I sat next to the window. I ordered a banana pancake with a breakfast plate. Such a simple concept - the sweetness of the banana paired well with the pancake. Also, it seems that the bananas get super soft when heated on the griddle. I loved it! Potatoes, sausage and egg were good also. A nice breakfast spot!

Yelp
Following a relaxing evening of browsing Downtown Sausalito, having dinner at Barrel House Tavern, and finally checking into our room at the Hotel Sausalito (please reference my reviews for both), we were well-rested and looking for a good breakfast spot. My Yelp search led us to Lighthouse Cafe, a 10 minute walk from our room. As we entered the establishment and were warmly greeted by an employee, we were taken aback by the old school diner ambiance. As soon as we were seated, a waitress greeted us and provided menus and water. Since great minds think alike, my wife and I both ordered the Agustin's Stuffed Hash Brown. As we awaited the arrival of our meals, our waitress did a superb job of keeping the coffee flowing (similar to the way mimosas flow at your favorite brunch spot). Our food arrived in a short period of time and was absolutely delicious! Due to the staffing shortages that many restaurants have experienced (and are continuing to experience), the quality of some restaurants has declined. However, we were elated to see (and taste) that the quality was on par with the reviews provided on the café's Yelp profile. If you're looking for a delicious breakfast, I highly recommend Lighthouse Café!
google avatar

Juliette L.

Yelp
The cutest cafe ever! Ended up ordering takeout Sunday morning but I would've loved to have stayed and enjoyed the ambiance. The food was ready right when we got there and I got to enjoy the delicious lox bagel. Plenty of toppings and cream cheese, bagel toasted to perfection and a healthy helping of lox

Yelp
We stopped by for breakfast after seeing the sunrise at the Marin Headlands. This was one of the only places open at 7am, so that was pretty awesome. It was also pretty cold that morning, so the waitress sat us at the warmest part of the diner, which we super appreciated. The diner is cute and old style with booths and bar seating. As we were eating, it looked like there were lots of regulars - I can see why they like this place! The waitress also mentioned to us that the bread was just delivered and super fresh - she toasted us some and kept asking us if we wanted more throughout our meal! The sourdough was definitely the best we've had at a diner, and if we weren't so stuffed from our meals, we would've had more! So good! My group tried two omelettes as well as the stuffed hash browns. All of us really enjoyed our picks! The dishes are huge though, so be prepared to eat a lot. For me and my friend who got the omelettes - they are super stuffed and yummy! The only complaint is the hash browns aren't very crispy... Might try the house potatoes next time. My boyfriend really likes the stuffed hash browns though - those were more crispy in my opinion too. We'll definitely be stopping by next time we're back in North Bay to try more!

Yelp
We visited on a Tuesday around noon. We appreciated that they were still serving breakfast (I believe they do all day). I came here hoping for eggs Benedict but didn't see them listed on the menu. But we were happy with what we ordered. The portions were a good size for the price. The staff was friendly and speedy. They kept refilling our coffee. We chose to sit on the patio which was clean and you could pick shaded or sunny seating. It was a nice spot.

Yelp
We ordered Alex's Corned Beef Hash Special with breakfast potatoes and the Ultimate Breakfast with sausage, hash browns, and a Raspberry pancake. We loved our food here and were so impressed with the Raspberry pancake. The hot chocolate was yummy too. It was our first breakfast restaurant we ever vacationed on with our newborn baby and everything was perfect!

Judy G.

Yelp
Of course. Easy going environment, good food, great views. Good prices compared to most places. I go average once week.

Yelp
What a find! THEE classic diner serving up the hits in Sausalito. I always like sitting at the counter in these joints, so that's why my buddy and I did. The cooks are in command and got it going on. Both of us had the Ultimate Breakfast that includes 2 eggs cooked your way, bacon or sausage, hashbrowns, toast, and a fruit pancake. GO HERE!
