We got the French toast and breakfast burrito. Wish the burrito was a bit hot other than that. It was good. The folks were very friendly and welcoming. Nice place to check out.

We got a quick bite to eat before checking in to our cruise. This place feels local and friendly. Food was piping hot and tasty.

Nice diner style place near marina. Order at counter and they bring to your table. We both ordered the harbor breakfast. Two eggs, 4 pieces of bacon, toast and potatoes. Very tasty. Self serve coffee and water. Nice mountain views. Eric was very friendly and chatty.

Came here for breakfast and I'm so happy I did. The guy behind the counter was calm (his demeanor seems like maybe he's prior military) but cool nonetheless. I'm happy with the amount of food I got (my picture shows my plate after eating more than half of everything 😁). The staff is good and so is the food. I would definitely recommend.

Unpleasant Experience at lighthouse. today I visited lighthouse cafe with my two children, and unfortunately, it was an extremely unpleasant experience. We arrived at 9am to find the shop already filled, which wasn’t an issue. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. As I stepped up to the counter to place my order, the couple behind me decided to leave without ordering. Instead of ignoring their departure, the owner began loudly berating them, saying things like, “I’m glad they left, I don’t want to serve people like that! They have no patience. That’s the way society is now, just going downhill.” Shocked by his outburst, I suggested that he should be the change he wants to see in the world. Instead of taking my comment to heart, he responded by saying I should be grateful to be a tourist and get to see the area he lives in because, according to him, “the world is going downhill.” I replied, “Wow, that’s a lot of negativity first thing in the morning,” to which he responded, “I rebuke it in the name of Jesus, but people are awful.” At this point, I wasn’t sure if I should provide a mirror. Despite the negativity, I proceeded with my order. After receiving my three pastries and sitting down, I noticed the worker had forgotten to make my coffee. The owner gave him quite an earful, which only added to the tense atmosphere. What really sent me over the edge was the way the owner spoke to an Indian couple who had placed an order and were waiting for it to be ready. The wife approached the counter to ask how long it would take, as they were in an obvious hurry. The owner’s response was appallingly rude and dismissive: “I don’t know how time works in India, but here it’s ready when it’s done.” The couple ended up leaving without their food, and I was shocked! My son wanted to order more food, but I refuse to ever support this business again! Overall, the negativity and rudeness displayed by the owner made for a very uncomfortable experience. While the pastries were fine, the atmosphere and treatment of customers were far from acceptable. I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this place to others.

Google
Not a good place for customer service. Wanted a purchased Danish warmed up and the person working the front counter was very rude in response to my request.. The microwave was on the counter by the worker, it was extremely close to him, however the worker asked customer to take a look at the people behind in line and apologize for making them wait 20 seconds for a pastry to be warmed. Additionally worker continued to berate the customer even more during the 22nd warm-up. The next day customers mother unknowingly goes in and inquires about whether fresh cookies will be put out that day and the same worker snapped at her as well.. The coffee was nothing special either. All in all I would suggest you try a different spot for your morning pick me up.

Google
Not sure why there are so many mixed reviews this place is fantastic. Maybe because it is right on the waterfront and they get a mixed crowd of cruise ship people, tourists, and locals. But either way we had the burger, salmon burger and Philly and we really enjoyed them all. Service was so friendly and quick. They had a case with some pastries but all had been sold before we got there. We'd go there again next time we are in Seward 100%. Also a major plus was they had their own restroom and they were clean! Lighthouse Cafe has it dialed in.

Yelp
Love this place ... and the reason Bethany S types give it a negative review has nothing to do with the food ... they don't like his politics and the fact he proudly displays his heritage and openly speaks about God and his other opinions ... as he reminds everyone that walks through the door, it's a free country... we have to stop the "cancel culture" ... I would give 10 Stars for that reason alone.

Yelp
The man working at the front counter register was impatient, surely and rude. A poster boy for "I Hate My Job" personified. In fairness though, he did say that there were only 3 employees (including him) working today, and there are usually 5 or more on surly duty. One of them forgot to turn on the coffee brewer; an unfortunate mistake on a cold day at breakfast time with a lot of customer traffic. We ordered the somewhat overpriced bagel sandwiches (egg & cheese). The potion size was good but the fried ova were bland. Though the cashier's demeanor was aggressive, the bountiful evangelical proselytism presented on the walls was passive, making this culinary experience a quirky diversion from an alternate reality.

Yazmin M.

Yelp
Owner/ manager /guy who works at cashier was very rude. I ordered a sandwhich with no bacon, and my sister wanted a burrito with no salsa. He turns around and asks the cook (his wife) if she wanted to make a bunch of custom orders (only 2, but okay) she doesn't say much but he's just sighing like we're the most inconvenient people in the world. Then he tosses our credit cards back to us. Food was not good enough to let that slide, and lastly the huge Israeli flag hung up. I understand everyone is entitled to their own opinion but personally I don't support Israeli in this genocide so that was just the icing on the cake. I've worked food service for over 9 years and no matter how rough my day was I never treated a customer like that.

Yelp
Had a poor experience. My boyfriend and I are alaska natives who live on the Peninsula and we come to Seward every so often to enjoy. This time we wanted to try a new restaurant for brunch. When we walked in the person taking our order was kind and we ordered and went to find a table to sit at. Most of the tables still had sticky syrup or crumbs left from people who sat there before as well as the chairs. Once we got our food it looked good, I got the chicken quesadilla which came with fries and my boyfriend got the Philly cheese steak which also came with fries. As I was eating my quesadilla I noticed it had sort of a seafood taste and the only thing I could think of was that the pan it was cooked in was used for cooking all the other foods as well. My boyfriend noticed that as well with his Philly cheese steak which had no seafood items in the sandwich itself. I couldn't bring myself to eat any of it which was a waste of $15 for half a quesadilla and steak fries. Typically I won't judge anyone who speaks freely but to speak about race is just uncalled for. Right as we got our food and the server went back to his station a couple came in who I could tell by what they were talking about they were locals. The chef decided it was a good time to complain about making my quesadilla and Philly cheese steak we ordered and then proceeded to talk about us pretty loudly while we were eating. He started talking about the tourists and how they were ignorant. Yes, tourism season can be difficult and draining but it does not make it right to talk poorly about others you don't even know saying that "We don't even know what a farm salmon is" is what the chef said about my boyfriend and I. Mind you my boyfriend and I are Alaska Natives who fish and hunt for subsistence every season to provide for our family. After eating their food we both got food poisoning and it was just an all around very bad experience. We will probably never return again.

Yelp
When you order, the owner/manager (I assume) will add political commentary for everything. I don't understand why some have to be so angry. Goes well with the Christian music wafting through the restaurant! SMH. You're a witness! Just busted another bakery where I left with a smile and felt happy because the owner was an absolute light. Not so much at this "Lighthouse" of doom, gloom and hate.

Pratima M.

Yelp
A small, centrally-located cafe serving up breakfast foods in Seward -- it was one of the few things open during the tourist off-season, so we ducked in before heading to the docks for our tour. The French Toast was good, but I wish they had more vegetarian breakfast foods that weren't sweets. They had ample seating inside and the food came out quick -- it worked in a pinch.

Taylor M.

Yelp
I'm sad we found this place on our last day in Seward because we definitely would have come back more than once. Everyone working was so kind, and the food was delicious. My husband and and I each had the breakfast burrito which was so filling, and my kids split the pancakes. They were huge.

Jessica H.

Yelp
We love lighthouse bakery! We just bought 9 large DELICIOUS chocolate chip cookies for $14 dollars! We also tried the cinnamon roll and the blueberry muffin, and all of it was really delicious. I highly recommend this stop if you come to Seward, and the owners couldn't be nicer!

Linnea F.

Yelp
Good for a quick breakfast. We came here to grab food before a boat tour of Kenai Fjords and took the food onboard. Walking in, there is an overwhelming scent of cleaning products. The line was long but moved quickly. Our food was ready quickly. They have a big variety for breakfast and lots of baked goods. The bagel sandwich was decent, but the cinnamon roll seemed to be missing the cinnamon. Nothing spectacular, wouldn't come here for a sit down breakfast if I had more time.

Karen L.

Yelp
The breakfast burrito is good, with good flavor. It is a bit in the small size compared to burritos in general. Service is quick. It was perfect for our limited time before catching a boat tour.

Yelp
Excellent place for breakfast. Everyone was super friendly and nice. Would highly recommend. We also had a donut.

Jylian R.

Yelp
We came here for lunch and got the fish and chips + a hot ham and cheese. We had bones in both of our meals, and the fries seemed to be undercooked. The location itself does not seem to well-kept or cared for, but the guy who took our order was eager to help. Overall, probably wouldn't recommend this place as it felt like nothing special...

Leslie L.

Yelp
Stopped here for breakfast despite the very average ratings... so glad we did! Owner was very nice and food was delicious!!! Would highly recommend!

Mari M.

Yelp
Good service. Had breakfast burrito, biscuits and gravy, and cinnamon roll. Good food and open fairly early.

Lucy R.

Yelp
Stopped here for breakfast. We ordered a Biscuit, French Toast, Pancakes, and The Harbor Breakfast. They initially messed up our order but quickly resolved. The food wasn't the best, the only thing I would go back for is the pancakes. I did appreciate how friendly the workers were.

Brian J.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. They are focused on the right things. The food and service are both excellent. Perfect place to go before a cruise.

A. Trigg R.

Yelp
Great place to grab a morning treat or lunch. Frequented by the locals which is always a good sign. The owner is a character for sure! Personally I like the unapologetic attitude. Food was really good and served quickly. I'd go again.

Mark C.

Yelp
Apple fritter was okay. Chicken vegetable soup looked great and hearty. Got the fritter but the soup was a no show until we asked about it. Soup was visibly black peppered too much, too spicy and way too much salt (I like salt). Also way too much partisan political talk. Couldn't finish the soup. Not the place for me.

Iman B.

Yelp
The customer service is a bit not great. Otherwise a nice place to get coffee and pastries.

Vina R.

Yelp
Woke up late and was concerned not many options would be available for breakfast in Seward. Yay for this place as they are open til 2 pm. I ordered the breakfast deal which you get to pick your protein, potatoes and eggs. I opted for the sausage patties and scrambled eggs. Breakfast was like a home cooked meal which i needed bc the prior day was gray and rainy. Food was good and potatoes had that nice crisp and seasoning. I also ordered a raspberry bear claw and that was gooooddd. Service was good and quick. Definitely a good choice for breakfast in Seward.

Michelle A.

Yelp
Stopped here as we entered Seward. Ordered Halibut fish and chips. These were much better than the place in Palmer. The tartar was also homemade. Very good and fresh halibut.

Alane J.

Yelp
We wanted a quick stop for coffee and pastries as well as a place to sit down. Alaska has tons of drive thru coffee stops but that wasn't what we wanted. Service was fast. They do not offer table service but are efficient. We enjoyed a blueberry muffin, cinnamon roll, caramel latte, and coffee. We were directed to a microwave if we wanted our pastries warmed. Pastries were fresh and delicious! Latte was a little sweet and coffee was good. Overall, Lighthouse provided what we were looking for. Nice place!

Daphne F.

Yelp
Came in after leaving our ship. Waiting in the warm seemed better than sitting in the cold. We had a raspberry bear claw that was delicious and coffee that hit the spot.. It's clear that this is a busy place that locals run and tend to. We liked interacting with them and didn't mind that a table had to be wiped off. I know how to do that and didn't mind doing it. I have read the reviews and it seems people will complain about everything. You're in Alaska, at a busy local bakery, it's most likely cold outside, order a pastry & coffee, you'll probably feel better.

Lisa Y.

Yelp
Food was quick, service was not good, tables were dirty, we had to bus someone's dirty dishes and wipe table down ourselves in order to use the table, the wall behind us were so dirty and disgusting as if food had been thrown all over and then crusted over. Overall, not a great experience.

GoatWard G.

Yelp
Customer service was Definitely not a priority. The Older man taking orders was grumpy, rude, not wanting to explain anything on the none descriptive menu. Yes there were 14 people in my group but none of us were impressed with his attitude. I even tried to tell him no hurry we're all together. Then took that as I was paying for everyone. Then got irritated because HE took that as I was paying! I took recommendations by traveling friend. However she is now fired! LOL The food fair. Not impressed with Breakfast sandwich, cinnamon roll, raspberry bear claw. Rain deer egg breakfast was good. And cookie was good.

Mari M.

Yelp
Food and service were excellent! Will come back when I'm in town again. Very conveniently located.

Tyler y.

Yelp
Only had the apple fritter and apple turn over both were very good. Also had the hot chocolate that was literally the best i've ever had. the service was quick and they were perfectly nice. It's quite a nice place. very small and fitting for the small city.

Catherine J.

Yelp
Quick service. Great burrito and yummy pastries. The gentleman taking our order could have been more pleasant (i went twice during my stay in Seward and his attitude was the same each visit). Good place for a quick bite that wont break the bank.

Matt M.

Yelp
Only had the bakery which was good but the owner is super nice and I certainly appreciate a genuine Christian being straightforward about his faith! Was blessed to hear the worship music coming from the kitchen. Praise Jesus!

Darren J.

Yelp
It definitely wasn't as bad as the reviews but it also wasn't anything to write home about. The service was pretty quick, but there were only a few people ahead of us. The guy at the front was friendly enough, and as someone with blue hair who wore a mask I was expecting judgment based on the reviews (but I can't speak for anyone else's experience). There's definitely a lot of religious stuff in the place. The breakfast burrito was fine. Wasn't bad at all, wasn't memorable, but good sustenance for our Kenai Fjords tour. We brought donuts on our tour as well, they were a little hard but fine. I guess this place is fine.

Sean C.

Yelp
The dude working the counter is about as friendly as you can get, he gave us great trip suggestions and things to see during our stay. Great guy to talk history with, definitely won't leave you sitting bored while waiting for your food. By the way, the raspberry fritter is killer. Heated up would have been even better. Reindeer sausage and eggs, with the potatoes. Those potatoes are to die for. Super crispy, don't even need ketchup. I'll come back tomorrow for another pastry!

Kelly S.

Yelp
We had breakfast here. The options are limited in the city and we had walked by this bakery a few times and decided to try it for breakfast. The staff was nice and accommodating. The food was good. We tried the French toast, egg/sausage biscuit, and cinnamon roll. All was acceptable. Nothing amazing. The inside needs a bit of work, the paint job and decor is horrible, it was clean however. The prices were probably the fairest ones in town though which makes up for that.

John 'Chris' C.

Yelp
Too much political and religious banter from owner. Food was ok. Many better choices available in Seward.

Milt M.

Yelp
Nice bakery - restaurant. The guy behind the counter is welcoming with a little bit of soup nazi in him. I like it!! Got the Philly and it was huge and good. Give them a try!

Mike H.

Yelp
Food was ok, guy running the register was surly at best. Asked to have a pastry cut in half and he went into a tirade about having to make all of the people behind us wait and refused. THERE WAS ONE PERSON BEHIND US. This level of "service" would only be tolerated in a tourist trap. Give someone else your money.

Amy P.

Yelp
We went for breakfast mix of classic breakfast and pastries. It's an order at the counter and they bring it to you style restaurant

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
Service wasn't great, owner was working the front line and badmouthing all his employees. The food was meh. Price was meh. Had a breakfast burrito. Obviously had problems getting and keeping employees, tables were dirty, staff couldn't keep up with business, and it was pretty slow at 7 am.

Caroline G.

Yelp
The owner was rude and angry to every customer that I saw. He opened late, said no expresso today, and cursed his staff. I will never go back.

Linda V.

Yelp
This is one of the "local" eateries on the bay front. Luckily, now it opens at 6 a.m. and since the day light comes on strong at 4:30 a.m. to get some coffee early is appreciated. Locals on their work stop here too, good sign. The owner is kind of a grumpy, can be "curt" with customers type person, but don't take it personal, he treats everyone like that including his employees! The food is good/ we started with an Apple fritter which was on the dry side but dipped in coffee...it was wonderful! The 2 eggs sandwich was very tasty, coffee was delicious!

Chendidi L.

Yelp
Environment: okay 3/5, they do wipe all tables Service: 3/5 for us, we did see some customers got rude treatment though Food: mixed. Good pancake (5/5), okay omelette with sides (4/5) and dry small side ham ($4, 2/5). Latte (4/5). This is the only proper breakfast place we found before 9:30 am, as we are getting on a bus at 10:30. It took us quite a while to get the food but still good enough. If I really have a craving for breakfast and there is no other places open, I would go again. Otherwise it is just okay.

Michayla R.

Yelp
Good pastries. Raspberry Bear Claw was excellent, husband enjoyed the apple turnover. Service was poor, guy at the counter kept complaining about his employees. The coffee station was very dirty. Would recommend that you grab your delicious pastries and eat them elsewhere.

Rachel G.

Yelp
This unassuming place has a really solid basic breakfast. The egg sandwich was good and the coffee was surprisingly great. I think they do a good job of managing impatient customers rushing to their boat tours.

Diana D.

Yelp
I am sucker for breakfast and when I found that Seward has no restaurant that serves breakfast after 11am I was heartbroken. On my last day here, after unsuccessfully trying to make it to breakfast before 11 am, I stopped by here after trying in 3 other places including Subway. The staff here was kind enough to make breakfast for me post 11.30am yay. This is a small mom and pop store, nothing fancy. We got breakfast burrito and fried egg sandwich. The sandwich was good, burrito was alright nothing to rave about On a side note, they also serve Indian buffet during weekends here. I didn't get to try it but it is also probably the only place in Seward that has Indian food.

Christy L.

Yelp
We had a great experience here for breakfast. The biscuits were very good on the breakfast sandwich and chocolate bacon donut was great. Staff was super nice to us.

Kaelan P.

Yelp
Delicious affordable breakfast. Generous portions. I had a great chat with the friendly owner while I waited for my food. They were also open long before all the other restaurants in town if you need an early bird bite. I'll definitely be coming in again.Alaskan

Bonnie M.

Yelp
Everything we have ever ordered here has been delicious!! Biscuits and gravy, Philly Cheese Steak, bakery items etc.! Great service! Highly recommend it!

Emily R.

Yelp
Pass on this place. Pass! Don't do it. Between the two of us, we paid $44 for a meal that would have been better executed, more delicious, better quality, higher level of service at a Denny's. I asked for an egg white omelette. They gave it to me but it looked like the size of an egg given in the McDonald's breakfast biscuit. Terrible. That's literally all I ordered. My dining companion ordered an omelette and a coffee. It was definitely a more reasonable portion but the review I received from them was that it was also not appetizing. Our server was kind. But forgot everything. She didn't write one thing down and kept forgetting it all. Not just our table but the others around us. It took forever for her to take our order. So long for our food to arrive. And we kept having to make corrections to what was brought to us. Debacle. Don't do it.
