Kimpton Lighthouse Hotel (Florida Keys, Florida) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Standing right next door to the famous lighthouse in question is the Kimpton Lighthouse Hotel, a loose association of 19th-century buildings spanning half a city block, right across the street from the Hemingway residence. Its rambling grounds include a swimming pool and gardens surrounding an old banyan tree, all of which make for fine outdoor lounge space. The rooms are contemporary-classic in style, with fun tropical prints and vintage-inspired furniture and artwork, plus modern details like Samsung HD televisions and Atelier Bloem bath products; the bar, Isabel’s, pours Hemingway-inspired mojitos as well as a bloody mary with breakfast." - Tablet Hotels

We had a very comfortable stay here. The property is beautiful, the rooms were cozy, and breakfast was excellent. Parking was a bit of a nightmare (as it often is in Key West), but the staff was very helpful in explaining our options. The pool needing to be closed for deck repairs wasn’t a huge issue since we spent most of our time at the beaches anyway. What I took issue with was being charged the full amenity fee even though the pool and bar area were closed for a good portion of our stay. Aside from that, everything else was great, and this could easily be a 5-star experience with a little more attention to that detail. Will likely return in the future and update my review.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable! They served a wonderful fresh breakfast With juices and hot fresh fabulous coffee.. Eggs bagels cream cheese , breakfast burritos, yogurt fresh fruit cups Bananas oranges oatmeal The pool was beautiful and clean. The staff made sure there were clean towels. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I do recommend this place.. If they had valet service would have been nice for my handicapped family member. They had 4 parking spots. But not guaranteed if you left and came back. Someone else would take your spot. They did have another parking lot a couple blocks away.. But everything else was wonderful..

Stayed from 7/20-7/25- staff at front desk when I arrived, incredibly welcoming and helpful. Whoever the man is who is at the desk/hotel in the evening is incredibly rude. Seemed to be more concerned about his dog than his guests. I asked for a late checkout and was rudely told it’s likely not an option and would only be granted until noon. The day of check out I was met with a much nicer response from other staff and a later check out time. Bathroom had ants despite me telling the front desk multiple times Bar staff - very very sweet! Made great drinks! Not the place to relax as construction noise was constant starting at 7:30am. Hotel landscapers are constantly around you at the pool with their leaf blowers- not exactly sure what they were cleaning but literally right on top of you! Despite this- it was a safe location as a single traveler despite the evening rude front desk staff. I would still come back but be aware of this. The night staff seemed more annoyed with me than helpful.

Had the opportunity of staying at the lighthouse hotel for our wedding this past June. We selected the Hemingway suite as the bridal getting ready room which was spacious and packed with all the required amenities. We also leveraged the lighthouse hotel for our wedding block which was a breeze. The lighthouse hotel had a great breakfast and it's proximity to downtown without being right on Duval was a hidden benefit. The entire property was great for getting ready photos and provided a beautiful backdrop for pictures! Would highly recommend anyone visiting Key West to stay there, and fir aby bride to get ready in the Hemingway Suite!

Google
A gorgeous place to spend our time in Key West!! The perfect place to walk just about anywhere. Very quiet and tucked away. Friendly service, though you may have to request housekeeping because we ran out of towels a few times and they only came once to take the trash out and make the bed even though we never had the Do Not Disturb sign out. Ultimately, that may have been on us for not asking but I don't recall them saying it was "by request only." But the rooms were unique and clean, very quiet, very clean, and the bartender was so fun and always checking if we needed anything while out by the pool!!

Google
Positive: Charming and well furnished rooms, excellent central location. Nice complimentary continental breakfast and welcome drinks. Negative: I was charged a $45/night amenity fee after we checked out. I don't see this mentioned anywhere in the listing, nor did the front desk mentioned this when I checked in. The front desk mentioned a $30/night parking fee upon checkin.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our Key West vacation and we absolutely loved it! We were upgraded to a king size room with private deck and it was perfect for us. It was such a cute little room and the staff were very helpful. The location was also perfect for us, as it is very centrally located on the island. We will definitely be coming back!

Great boutique style place. We felt like we had our own bungalow - zero noise from people but there was a little road noise (we faced whitehead street) and the damn roosters. Easy to get around the grounds. Pool was quaint, continental breakfast was perfect every day and there were usually cocktails in the afternoon. A half block off Duval street, we walked almost everywhere. Only uncertainty was parking but they helped guide us with options. Wound up parking a block away for free, saved the parking lot two blocks away for $$.

Yelp
This was a very cute hotel with lots of charm and walking distance to everything in Key West! It's right across from the Hemingway House if you want to visit that. The parking is several blocks from the hotel but they tell you where to park since it's just street parking in front of the hotel. The staff was very helpful and had great service. The breakfast was delicious and can tell it's homemade! They even remembered my coffee order that I always ordered. Only took off a star since the pillows were so uncomfortable and it made it hard to sleep without any head support. Otherwise I recommend staying here!

Yelp
We couldn't have been more disappointed. $600+ for a tiny room, in bad shape, repairs needed and infested with black mold. This was a second floor room and one tiny window unit could barely keep up. During the day the temp in the room would be 80-82 degrees. At night, we were lucky to have it drop to 75-77. The mold was so bad, we sneezed non stop and our eyes watered and burned. The smell was so strong it has ruined a $600 Calvin Klein leather shoe bag. We can't get the smell of mold out of it even having emptied it and let it sit out in the sunshine and fresh air. The room had paint slopped everywhere, and I mean the floors, the furniture, the bathroom mirror, and the nightstands. Being painters ourselves, we figured out that it was Kilz primer everywhere they were trying to cover the mold. Let me tell you, working in the construction field, you CANNOT paint over mold to make it go away. They need to tear the ceilings out and abate it from the inside. The paint was also peeling off the walls in the bathroom which also indicates moisture in the walls. We would have complained, but the lady at the front desk upon check in was extremely rude and abrasive, and I mean RUDE. The gentleman that was behind the desk however, was very nice, as was the rest of the staff except the blonde behind the counter. We were charged $$60 to park 3 blocks away. There is no concierge or offer to help carry your luggage upstairs, as there is no elevator. This stay in Key west was just a few days of a 15 day trip so we had 3 bags. We never ate breakfast there as it was only cereal, pastries and whole fruit. If you're into carb loading and sugar that's fine, but we're not. We should have just stayed elsewhere but we thought it was going to be more fun closer to Duval St. The pool was okay, very small and only 10 people allowed in at a time. The "resort fees" are for things they claim are complimentary. So go figure $39 a night concierge fee, when we couldn't get an offer of help with the luggage, the bar was closed the entire time, we had to walk 3 blocks to our car which they charged us for too. They are sheisters! Do not recommend.

Yelp
Literally right beside the lighthouse, which was cool. The room was very nice and the bathroom was a nice size. The grounds were immaculate and pretty. I would absolutely return.

Yelp
Unique, cozy and charming inn that's conveniently located in the heart of Key West. Great value overall, however poolside drinks are rather pricey and there's a hidden-in-fine-print "amenity" fee that sneaks up after checkout. This fee includes must haves such as... "Complimentary continental breakfast, concierge services, in-room Wi-Fi, yoga mats, filtered water, coffee, tea accessible 24/7, in-room safe, Isabel welcome cocktails and afternoon poolside refreshers. And of course, Key West Roosters." Really?

Yelp
We stay here 3-4 times a year. Laura is awesome and always a pleasure. Quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Love sitting in the pool. Rooms are awesome. Location is excellent.
