Lilja Guesthouse

Hotel is outside the town of Hofn, about 15 minutes away. Very pastoral setting. Views of two glaciers from the hotel's front deck. Good choice for stopping after driving by the glacier parks and lagoons, and before the next leg of the ring road experience. The rooms are very nice, private bathroom, good bed and linens, clean. Very nice staff.||The town of Hofn had a grocery store and liquor store so we were able to get snacks and wine. We ended up eating pizza there. ||There is a restaurant at the hotel, but we did not eat dinner there. In the morning we had fresh scrambled eggs and bacon, and other offerings. Very good.

The meal we had was excellent, with farm to table food. The rooms were clean with no concerns. There r 2 buildings with rooms and some of them have Mountain View’s. This hotel is off the beaten path, but that’s the best part! We had awesome views of the northern lights!

The rooms at Lilja Guesthouse were beautiful and spacious, offering a fantastic view of the street and landscape. My sister and I even woke up to the delightful sight of sheep lounging in the grass right outside our window. It was a charming and memorable experience, adding a special touch to our stay. Highly recommend for a comfortable and scenic retreat!

CLICK BAIT Stayed at 7 different accommodations. This is the only one that sucked. Ordered twins, nope, damaged walls, space heaters all over. Did not have a ground floor. We had to huff up a ridiculous ramp to an off building. TV out of order ' barely a foot on side of bed. Didn't use our breakfast voucher. It the room, we thought it best not to go. The first pic is building they advertise. I paid 215 a night. I paid same rate as a which shows what they advertise with price.

This guesthouse has some of the best lamb stew - perfect way to warm up after a long day of hiking in the misty rain! Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious. Room was clean and beds were comfortable, but our heater stopped working so it was a little chilly when we woke up the next morning. We had special wooly breakfast guests to keep us entertained while waking up!

We spent one night there on our tour of Iceland. There is a "main house" with reception and dining area and there is a newer "side house". The rooms in the main building are simple but solid. Shower, bed... everything ok. The rooms in the "side house" are better equipped... also with TV etc... All in all... great friendly staff and absolutely OK for one night.

Great place, excellent location! We were there for 2 nights and we had a lot of fun. Dinner was great, and the buffet breakfast was nice as well. Staff is very kind and always helping out in every need. Parking is available and no trouble at all.

20mins drive outside Höfn just off the main road. Brilliant, cosy and clean. Simple guesthouse yet does what it needs to do. Good view of the glacier, sheep outside, comfy beds, good curtains to block out the light. Rather perfect and much more cosy than a ‘chain’ hotel.
