Beautiful hotel with cozy rooms. Nice touch with the antique themed interior. Very good breakfast buffet.

We brought a boat into Lillesand with a very short walk from the docks to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We took the stairs to our top floor rooms. The bathroom was a little small, but this is not a new, modern hotel. The Norge is a very well kept boutique hotel. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. No problems whatsoever. Restaurants just a block away. Fanstastic breakfast is provided. Just a great experience overall.

We felt right at home in this wonderful and well-managed hotel. Situated right on the harbor, we felt very much like guests in a warm and friendly home! Lovely ladies at reception welcomed us, and the room was clean and comfortable. It was quiet and restful. We had a full breakfast with great service. Highly recommend this place in charming Lillesand!

Housed in a beautiful building from 1873, this charming hotel is found in Lillesand’s picturesque harbour. Rooms offer a mix of old-world charm and modern comforts. Lillesand Hotel Norge is a member of 'De Historiske', an organisation containing many of Norway’s most charming hotels and restaurants.||||The 25 rooms are all in individual in style. Our room (no 302) was named after the famous Norwegian author Knut Hamsun and is one of the most special hotel rooms I have ever visited (see my attached photos and you will understand).||||||All the staff were friendly and helpful! Everyone made you feel as if you were at home. I love to stay at these small hotels with great personal service!||||The hotel has a free car park.||||In summary, Lillesand Hotel Norge is a very well-run hotel, and I will highly recommend this place!||||Regards||Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.

This hotel is beautiful in the small town of Lillesand. This town is very small, so we were happy to find a place to stay here. The building is historical, and it's old. There have obviously been renovations, the breakfast room and the parlors are beautiful. Though we made this reservation 3 months prior, we were put in the addition to the hotel, so we had to carry our luggage through the entire parlor, into the hallway, through a glass door, and up spiral stairs. We packed light, but still. We were in a 2nd floor room, and had a window overlooking the street. There were cars who loved to share how loud their exhaust could be, which was surprising in such a small town, so we listened that late into the night and early the next morning. The location is perfect, they have parking attached to their hotel but it was full, so we were invited to park across the small street but only until 10am the next morning, then we'd have to move. I'm not sure where we would have gone, but we were checking out anyway, so it didn't matter. I assume we could have paid to park there after 10am? The rooms have zero air conditioning (not a huge surprise) but I was surprised there were no fans. We were experiencing a very rainy storm, but the day we arrived, it had cleared up and was maybe 70˚ F and sunny. This made the room very warm, with no air circulation. I wonder what people do in warmer weather? The bed was an IKEA mattress, which I did not expect. It was as comfortable as I expected an IKEA foam mattress to be (3-4" thick). Our breakfast was in the dining room which was charming and beautiful. We were asked what time we'd like to have breakfast and we were 5 minutes behind that time when we arrived. We sat at a table for two and were brought a 3 tiered tea tray full of fruit, pastries, yogurt, eggs, salmon, etc. It was charming and the breakfast was good. Overall we enjoyed our stay, I would have liked a fan, a quieter room, parking we didn't have to worry about, and a room that wasn't such a trek, but I know many of those things are out of the hotel's control. The bed and the fan, however, are things, for the price paid, I feel they could improve on.

A group of Polish and Norwegian colleagues spent two nights at this marvellous hotel for a joint seminar held at this historic hotel. The interior is old fashioned, where you are brought back to Knut Hamsun times. I was so lucky to get his old room, very spacious and special - and clean. The service was splendid from we came to we went - couldn't be better. Hotel location is the best in town. And food served was of highest standard, with a local gourmet touch. Seminar room was spacious and nice, my only advice there is to install better drop downs to avoid sunshine reflections on the wall screen. Lillesand therefore also provided good weather this time. A fantastic hotel!

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on a business trip. The hotel is quite typical, which I appreciated. It is nice when you travel for business and have little time to visit to still get the impression that you are travelling and not staying in a impersonal hotel that would be the same in any country. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is quite nice with good fresh and typical local products. The lobby has a very nice atmosphere, typically local and very cosy. The room was nice and large, with a similar atmosphere. The only small minus point is the entrance to the shower that isn’t very large

Yelp
As good as it gets in Lillesand. The place to stay and the place for fine dining. Their menu scales from cozy comfort food served outdoors in their garden to gourmet food in the posh banquet room... and the experience becomes richer knowing one of Norway's best know authors, Knut Hamsun, used to stay here and got inspired.
