September 2024||This has been a challenging review to write, and, for us, we are giving an unusually low rating.||Things we loved and appreciated, include: ||• The ease of communication with Christos leading up to our stay – including arranging a private transfer from the port to the hotel.||• How helpful he was in making dinner reservations for us – as well as a car rental. ||• Christos always seemed eager to help, and we appreciated this quality in him, in fact he seemed truly disappointed if an experience wasn’t 100%. ||• The entrance and common area of the property is beautiful - the outdoor setup and furnishings very stylish.||• Adults only – yes!||• Location – just a short walk (5-10 minutes) into the main part and nightlife of beautiful Naoussa. ||• The Moet and Chandon champagne breakfast was a nice touch.||Opportunities for improvement: ||• Ants in the bed – We regularly had ants in our bed. Not many, and we weren’t terribly bothered by it, but it also wasn’t nice to turn the covers down and brush the ants away before tucking in.||• The “Hermes luxury bathroom amenities” advertised were minimal at best. We had 2 small shampoos, 2 small body shower gels, and a bar of soap. Regrettably, we were “influenced” for sure.||• The email offer to “upgrade” (for a fee) to a room that was needing a reno was extremely unfortunate. We received an (automated?) email days prior to our arrival to purchase an upgrade from our Sea View Junior Suite to a Sea View Junior Suite with Private Infinity Pool. We emailed Christos about it (hoping he might just upgrade us at no charge, but since he didn’t offer, we still jumped at the opportunity). Incorrectly, we assumed the room would be of the same quality as the one we initially booked, but with addition of the private pool. Images of the Junior Suite look stunning – with marble tile throughout, including in the bathroom which shows a true walk-in shower. When we arrived and were brought to our “upgraded” room (the room with infinity pool), we immediately realized it was in need of a renovation – which Christos mentioned (a day or two into our stay) would be underway in the off season. We wish we had been aware of this at the time the “upgrade” was offered, and, in particular, when we emailed Christos to inquire about this offer. We felt a bit “had”, so-to-speak. The surfaces (floors throughout, shower and walls in bathroom) were nothing special – in fact, quite outdated and not in line with the rest of the property. The shower was not a true walk-in, it leaked (a lot), and the handheld shower head wouldn’t stay in place, making it difficult to wash your hair. Suffice to say we were disappointed with the promised “upgrade”, which results in the low rating.||Room tip – While the private pool is nice, the orientation of our room left the pool in the shade much of the day, which meant it was usually quite cool.||Dining experiences - highly recommend:|• driving to Piso Livadi and having lunch at the family-run Soiree restaurant – right on the water|• dinner at Yemeni in Naoussa was fantastic |• lunch at Captain Pipinos Taverna in Antiparos very good |Dining experiences – Siparos was a total flop – the food was forgettable (we had the salt-crusted fish which came highly recommended), the service non-existent (rude, even – when we attempted to select our fish), an old van parked to obstruct the “sunset view”, and numerous cats wondering between the tables. (One used my dress as a scratching post. Darn.)||Jeri & Tim|Canada
