One of my favorite locations to tent, the check in is fast and easy. The park ranger, and the maintenance team is on top of the game. The park is clean at all times. Outhouses are available at every camping site and always clean and stocked. There is also a comfort station where you can clean your dishes and take a shower, ea shower is accessable for wheelchair users. There are also two boat launching areas, a kids playground, volleyball, basketball area and a public small beach.

My wife and I drove from Brunswick to Lily Bay State Park on the strength of many positive reviews. We now realize that the bulk of the positive reviews are written by people who are fortunate enough to camp in this beautiful site. It is, unfortunately, less than ideal for day visitors. The public beach is small with a limited number of picnic tables and grills. On the day we visited (mid-July 2025), it was mild and clear, but so windy that a cookout was really out of the question. It was also abundantly clear that a lot of geese had spent time in and around the beach. It is unquestionably a beautiful location (although what's with the dog statue?), but best suited for people who have campers and other support equipment.

Lily Bay State Park has held a special place in our hearts for nearly 45 years. It’s where countless family memories have been made — from early morning swims and lazy afternoons by the lake, to quiet evenings under the stars. The lakefront campsites are absolutely beautiful, offering the perfect backdrop for peaceful, sun-filled days. The campground is always clean and well cared for. It’s more than just a campground — it’s part of our family story. See you next year, Lily Bay!

No matter what time of year our state Park is absolutely beautiful. I enjoy kayaking, hiking and cross country skiing here. The camping sites are spacious with views of Moosehead Lake. Everything is pristine and family friendly.

Nice walk thru the woods. Natural trail with inclines and declines, roots and rocks. Numerous spurs to beautiful outlooks onto Moosehead Lake. Several coves. This route is a loop back using the paved road from the end of the trail back to the trailhead at the recreational area/ beach.

Loved it here! I was only planning one night but stayed 3, because it was so beautiful and perfect. Get a spot along the water if possible. The views are amazing. Wildlife everywhere and appear to be quite comfortable around humans. Outhouses are clean and located pretty close to all campsites. You’ll want to drive to the shower house though, it’s up the road a bit. Super clean and plenty of them available. There’s a hiking trail between this campground and the one next door. Walk it! It’s awesome.

Yelp
We love coming to Lily Bay, beautiful views. The kids can swim or you can took. Trails, outhouses are clean, and we usually see deer and we haven't but others have seen Moose.' It's a must if your in the Moosehead area.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful, clean, well maintained and peaceful park to spend time in quiet and enjoying nature. There are boat launch areas, camping, swimming, hiking. Pack a lunch and sit on small peppled beach area for astounding views of Moosehead Lake. Gorgeous! The water is cool and clean (lots of rocks so water shoes definitely recommended). We heard and saw several loons, lots of ducks, with canoers, kayakers, and wake boarders occasionally passing by. We saw deer and hear this is a great area to spot a moose! Such a relaxing and rejuvenating day. We will undoubtedly return.

Yelp
Beautiful slice of heaven near the Lake. Swimming spots, fishing spots, clean bathrooms, gorgeous hiking trails, tent and camper/RV spots. A couple bucks to enter the park but well worth it.

Yelp
Nice state park with a lot of campsites along the mossehead lake. Each campsite is spacious and able to see very nice lake view. Each site has a picnic table, a fire pit, space for parking. Non-Maine residents have to pay more (and it is expensive). Nice to come here for kayaking, canoeing, and hiking.

Yelp
Lovely campsites and bathrooms here at the state park. I can here early April with my van and bike and 4x4 and big tires are a must for the snow banks! Great riding in the area. Lots to explore if your bike can handle some dirt.

Yelp
Beautiful place with lots of wild life and tons of camp sites. Shower room with flushing toilets and a place to do your dishes! multiple boat launches a beach and playground for the kids.

Yelp
Beautiful park, with an amazing tent site selection, with tamed woodlands for easy view of your waterfront site(s), we went during fall & our site was nothing shy of delightful. The campground hosts were very friendly, they noticed it was taking us a while to get on the road (due to a dead battery) & came to check on us & gave us a jump. The bath house was inconveniently locates in the "Dunn Point" loop, on the way to the beach area, the shower stalls/rooms were super spacious & quite nice in comparison to most campground's. The shoreline of Moosehead Lake was ever so beautiful with a nice selection of driftwood & quartz, my wife & I felt like kids again gathering natural materials.
