Beautifully restored old building, immaculately curated inside, but sadly I found it a bit soulless. The lounge area was like a show house…to be seen, but not touched. The rooms vary in size, and are overtly trendy, but on closer inspection, the furniture seems pretty flimsy. |Some rooms have adjoining doors, so if that’s not for you, contact the place before you book.|A flaw in the building is the omnipresent drone of the air con/heating system. Even when you turn your own off, it is constant from elsewhere: sleep is disturbed.|It was impossible to turn off the system completely in room 207, so we moved room, which was better, but still noisy.|It is a staff free hotel, which is surprisingly slick. The contact person, Kari, was exemplary. When we needed to move rooms, she could unlock two rooms for us to see, within minutes.|It isn’t an appealing walk to downtown at night, as you need to walk under an elevated highway. It takes 15/20 mins.|I can understand the appeal of this place, but, for me, it’s a bit lacking, particularly given the price.
