Lily Sweets

We were really disappointed with our recent experience ordering a birthday cake from this bakery. My partner was very specific when placing the order: no vanilla due to an allergy, white cake, fresh strawberries (no jam), whipped frosting, and “Happy Birthday Sydney” written on top. Unfortunately, what we received was not what we ordered—especially disappointing given the high price. The sides of the cake were covered in crunchy flakes that ended up soggy and chewy, blueberries were added in and on the cake even though we only requested strawberries, and my name was misspelled despite being clearly spelled out three times over the phone. On top of that, the middle of the cake was filled with a different type of frosting than the whipped frosting on the outside, which made the whole thing feel odd and inconsistent. Overall, the cake was strange, incorrect, and not what was requested. This was especially frustrating because we’ve enjoyed other treats from this bakery in the past. Sadly, birthday cakes may not be their strong suit. I didn't let the cake ruin my day but it was supposed to be a highlight and I had one tiny piece and scraped off the outside layer.

Had two experiences with this bakery--one bad, one fine. 1) Called to inquire about a birthday cake, looking at the flavors listed on the website. Whoever answered was rude and said they didn't have the flavors listed on the website and only regularly carried 3 flavors (vanilla, chocolate, and something else that I forgot). They seemed to be very annoyed about us wanting a cake flavor...that was listed on their website. 2) Stopped by in-person. Service was mid, pastry was overpriced in our opinion and decent--but not as good as other places like Cannelle, for example. Also, we saw that they indeed stocked the cakes that were listed on their website, which left us confused. Overall, it knows its market and does enough to satisfy, but doesn't go above and beyond. Customer service could use work.

Thank you for those delicious sweets, delivery was fast and very well packaged. Absolutely amazing. I loved everything, exactly same taste as childhood. I strongly recommend for everyone to try.

Bad experience- the cake ruined my birthday. I ordered a two tier cake with sugar flowers but received a cake with the top not attached! Plastic flowers instead! The cake was smaller than promised and filled with cardboard, not enough for my guests. I called three times asking for the manager was told I’d get a call back, still waiting. Very disappointed!

We ordered our wedding cake from Lily Sweets and it turned out exactly how my wife wanted and tasted amazing! We were very happy with the cake. We also order cakes for birthdays and other family occasions all the time and they have always looked and tasted so good! Highly recommend them for any occasion!

Very good treats! Stopped in on a Monday afternoon, excellent service, very nice staff! Definitely tapped some chocolate dusting off the tiramisu, but better too much than too little! Cakes were amazing, tried a chocolate cherry mousse sort of cake as well, definitely recommend.

We have been ordering custom made cakes from here for 8 years and I have to say my recent experience was terrible. I ordered a simple 8 inch cream cake, with a simple design for which I provided all the decorations, and they charged me $130 which is extremely overpriced. All decorations where paper made and has to be pinned on top with a toothpick, very simple!!! The cake did turn out beautiful but the quality was off. There was tons of icing on the top and way too much cream between the layers, and barely any cake!!! 50% of the cake was made with a low quality cream! Ordering experience was terrible too. I stopped by the shop and was told but the guy that he cannot take my order and I need to call the baker's cell phone. That was a wasted trip. I called and there was no answer. I left a very detailed text with the picture and details of the cake and got no response. I called over 24 hours later and the baker did not even know about my text message and passed the phone to someone else. The lady I spoke to asked me to bring the decorations by Friday evening. I dropped off decorations on Friday at 3 pm and the lady that was there gave me a bad attitude and said "we have been waiting for you!!!" Will never ever order from here again

Wandered into this Mediterranean desert shop after dinner, and it made the night. Ordered the oreo cake and a small fruit desert. Both were so good. Not too sweet. and the best part is the value. The oreo cake was ... $3.00. The fruit desseet was $1.50. You don't see those prices anymore. We were both so full but otherwise would have tried the fruit cake. It was about $26 for a small and $36 for a large. Apparently, fruit is not just on top but FILLED inside with cream and goodness. Sounded so good and will probably buy it and update this review in the future. It is a small local business and the owner, mostly Turkish and Arabic speaking, was very nice and cordial. The place is less than 2 years old. Not super fancy inside. Not the widest selection but honestly I would try everything - canoli, cakes, baklava - given the fair price point. We will be back for sure.

Hard to find good baklava where I live. What a treat to find this places. Bought a few baklava to go. Really good!

Cakes are amazing! They will also put a little chocolate square on your cake to wish someone a happy birthday, anniversary, etc. I would highly recommend.

My bestie surprised me with a cake from Lily Sweets and it was three layers of vanilla cake with berries and cream. Very light and fresh! I can't speak to the service so the four stars is for the cake.

This place is off Orchard Lake Road and if you blink, you'll miss it. Although spacious in the inside, easy to miss on the outside. You've got your choice of pretty much any middle eastern dessert your heart desires here, IF they have it. Sometimes they have stuff, sometimes less. But they are known for a few speciality items and I suggest you try those! The cheese stuffed pancakes (atayif) are delicious and you could easily eat 12. They are these small delicate mix of soft pancake like outside wrapped around a delicious soft cheese interior. I feel like I could bathe in this-it's so delicious! I've tried the baklava and it wasn't my favorite. I'd stick with their specialities. Might try that almond crispy bread thing next time too! PS: they seem like they could make a killer cake!

After we visited Lily Sweets, my friend and I keep thinking about the baklava. We decided to order online and shipped to Ohio. Very please with the package and the fast shipping. It still tastes fresh. I love how crispy and perfect-sweet of the baklava. Thumbs up!

Picked up a birthday cake for my friend. When I walked in a nice gentleman handed me something to try. I'm sorry to say I don't know what it was but it was so tasty. Everyone loved the cake that I bought with fruit in it. I will definitely be back. I thought the service was outstanding, and it was a nice touch getting a little sample.

The cashier is extremely rude and was FaceTiming someone the same time I was asking her questions about a cake. Secondly, it looks like a 6 year old wrote this on this $45 cake. Seriously? Won't be back

We made an order for a cake for our daughters birthday party two weeks prior. We called to confirm they said it was ready. When we get there no cake no order with the party hours away. Owner proceeded to get angry at us because he forgot the order. No apologies of the mistake nothing. Offered to make a smaller cake without anything we ordered on it. Something they had premade maybe? Thanks but no thanks! Very unprofessional! I never do negative reviews but I had to on this one. Cakes looked good but that doesn't matter if you don't fill your orders for your customers. Lots of places make good cakes the successful ones also have good customer service.

I ordered a party cake and they messed it up. The girl up front was inexperienced and acted childish and defensive. Instead of taking responsibility she started making excuses, and blaming others. Though they tried to fix the cake with whatever they had on hand it was the crappy attitude that threw me off. If you can't stand by your product and can't deliver on your promise, then why even take orders? Disappointed!!

Really enjoyed the baklava. Not overly sweet, which is a real issue for me. They were very good. I'll be back.

I showed them a cake i wanted made and they made it exactly like the picture! I am so satasfied with the outcome of the cake. Everyone loved the cake as well. They were very nice and accommodating to what I wanted done. I will definitely be a returning costumer, my cake looked phenomenal!

I purchased the Black Forest Cake. It looked beautiful and was excited to try it. But we both thought the cake batter itself was unfortunately rather dry. Not at all moist like I expected so disappointed! If I ever came back I might try their baklava or other Mideastern treats.

so i got a custom cake for my daughter's birthday and they did not follow any order. i asked them to make it a specific way and they did it how they wanted to. the fondant on the cake was messy and sloppy. they didn't take there time and was so in a rush. do not recommend.

Tried the fruit cake and it was awesome.. Also, customer service was great. Will definitely visit the place again..

I am never disappointed when I buy at Lily. Yesterday we stopped by to purchase a cake on the way to a barbecue. We selected the Black Forest and it did not disappoint. Moist chocolate layers, marinated berries, buttercream and cream and topped with fresh strawberries. Heavenly. Best place in town for baklava. In the summer Italian ice in the freezer for individual service. Besides cookies, chocolate covered huge strawberries. The staff is always wonderful. Love this place!
