We searched a few food tour companies but chose Lima Tasty Tours based on their itinerary and reviews. It was worth the initial time spent looking for a company as Arturo our guide was excellent. We initially went to a covered market in the local part of Barranco, Arturo knew a lot of the people in the market and was very informative about the foods, Peru and we interacted with some of the vendors. We has a super chat with a 69 year old lady with a stall her family owned and she had been working on since she was young. Peruvians buy pre prepared small plastic bags of stuff to make dinner. We then did a walk in the neighbourhood to visit street vendors and another small market trying things on our way, inc, Inca Cola! Lol. We took a tuk tuk a small way to get to the market faster, was fun. The tour was just over 3 hours but it whizzed by, a definite recommend if you want to try local cuisine, interact with locals and learn about Peru, and its food.

Fantastico! We did the Lima Just For Foodies 3 hour tour. We took a tuk tuk to a very local market in the residential part of Barranco that we never would have discovered on our own. Inside, we tried so many Peruvian specialties like causa, chilcano, and chaufa. We washed them down with the likes of chicha morada and Inca Cola! In between each food, we walked around and learned about different aspects of the market, chatted with friendly vendors, and sampled various exotic fruits and veggies. We also tried a few classic Peruvian desserts before leaving the market and walking around the neighborhood, trying street food along the way and ducking into smaller super local markets for more sampling of fresh fruits, olives, and other treats. Arturo was friendly, passionate, knowledgeable, and lots of fun to hang out with. He felt like an old friend by the end and we were sad to say goodbye! I highly recommend this tour for a slice of everyday Peruvian life and food.

We joined the Foodie Tour with José and can highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lima! The tour was the perfect introduction to Peru – we got to try a wide variety of local dishes, fruits, and vegetables, all while learning so much about the country, its culture, and its people. We were absolutely thrilled with the experience and more than full by the end! So come hungry – there will be a lot of delicious food!

We had an amazing time on our tour. Arturo took us to the market so we could see all the interesting and tasty produce available in Peru. We tried lots of different food, learnt about the origins and culture around each dish. After the market we set off to Downtown Lima learning more about the history of Lima and trying lots of street food and little hole in the wall places. Arturo was an excellent guide and super informative The tour totally above our expectations. 100% recommend doing it.

With his experience, we were able to discover a side of Lima that we never would have seen on our own. From the local market to downtown Lima the adventure was magical. If you want to experience a Peruvian friends and food culture definitely book a tour and remember to ask for José.

What a fantastic introduction to Peruvian food and culture with Lima Tasty Tours in Lima! This is a true immersive experience into the most authentic and unique world of products and flavors - savory, sweet, tropical, spicy, topped off with delicious pisco sour :) We took advantage of several tours that Lima Tasty Tours offered that go beyond just gastronomical experience. We flew over Nazca lines, visited Archeological museum and watched sunset on the top of sand dunes in Huacachina. We utterly enjoyed all the trips. I highly recommend Lima Tasty Tours to anyone who would like to get an intro to Peruvian cuisine and culture, regardless of whether you have half-day or several days to spare. Arturo is amazing! True and proud ambassador of his country.
